As a native English speaker, I took a practice TOEFL test for fun and failed miserable in the reading/comprehension level. It was a piece about how diamonds are formed and it was so dry, and sentences were so convoluted I’d have to read it multiple times to understand what was being said.
i may be not a native speaker but i got 4/15 then 12/30 oof you got to read very clearly and be a fucking detective and take up all facts and READ EM AGAIN and cross one answer after an another lol i got the second one slightly better :( but i still suck
@@KristofKarwinskithegreat-se5pu - i also think whatever sicko wrote that portion of the TOEFL deliberately made it convoluted AND boring to confuse the test-takers. I’m very sure you suck less than you think haha.
I did my Toefl today and the questions they asked me in independent task of speaking section are 1. Your friend is so ill and he is not able to take notes for his exam. You have to help him to prepare for his exam. At the same time you have to prepare for yourself. How could you manage your time and help your friend at this situation? 2. Some people thinks that teachers should admit their mistakes they made. Other believes that its not necessary for a teacher to admit their mistakes. Which one do you prefer? Thank you All the best for your exam👍👍👍
@@avin636 Hi Avinash! I would like to know if we can open the audio transcription in the first question of the writing section which has a listening part ? because if so, it would be easier to summarize the notes !
Yeah, every single word. Can you please help me? I really need some help with my application, can you help me? Do you know how should I start? what about the SAT, there is a preparation test online for the SAT too?
Hi Marina, your videos are awesome and they are helping me a lot. Initially, while i was preparing was too frightened of TOEFL. But after watching some of videos, I think i have enough courage, and i am planning to attain TOEFL exam within a month. Thanks for sharing all do's and don'ts. I am from INDIA.

It is good video cause it shows that native speakers don't need to rely too much on the templates. It is more for people that didn't have a lot of practice with English. He simply doesn't speak enough.
hi marina i'm from Uzbekistan- one of the closest country to Russia. i've just watched your video and it was very helpful to preparing. i respect you,and i wish all the best, and hang in there! your videos are very useful , exciting and gives motivation to enhance language skills. marina good luck
You are amazing! thank you for giving us great hacks for TOEFL test and to show us that it is really hard to do it, even for a native speaker. I have had a great time seeing your videos and learning and I think I feel a little more confident now. Greetings from Mexico!

Willson Basyal yeah..they are quite difficult but for that you should have very good imagination and should be able to have opinion on that imagination itself. What I do is that before sleeping I think of various scenarios of any topic that comes in my mind, I go very deep in that topic because before sleep you are relaxed and your mind is quite empty and you can think of anything. I have habit of overthinking and because of that I'm tend to think more, that is good as well as bad. But this works for me. Try this or you can come on your own way.

this video thought me so much about feelings and stuff and the psychology that goes behind each sentence you speak. But some questions cant really have binary answers like a yes or a no. It can be a mixture of both .
I don’t know if anyone needs to hear this but I feel it's right to say, so that no one else has to go through what happened to me. I took the TOEFL test a few days ago and it was one of the worst experiences I had to undergo. My screen froze during the writing section and I couldn’t scroll down to read the remaining passage during the integrated part. I called for the proctor for help and she IGNORED me for the better part of 50 minutes until the end of the entire test. The spectacle didn’t end there, as the proctor TALKED OUT LOUD on full volume when I had to listen to what I had to speak on during the speaking section. She continued talking through the speakers for more than a minute, during all the listening (even if she lied to the institution saying that she talked just to ask to lower the camera, that requires 3 seconds). I was so nervous and terrified as the sheer horror of speaking on something I could NOT hear. I had to compose myself and I did my best to speak as this joke of an “test” came to an end. This is incompetence and a scam. I immediately filed a complaint and sent them an email to open an investigation. It’s evident that “investigation” didn’t happen as ETS chose to not do their job like their LIAR of a proctor and simply took her word for it. My scores will stand and I was told I will not be allowed to retake the test for free. They chose NOT to review my RECORDED test. Choosing TOEFL was definitely one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made in my life. They’re morally bankrupt and shamelessly corrupt. Don’t let them mess with your future. I’ve said my piece, make of that what you will. And add that to all the complaints of other type you can find on this page (for example not receiving the scores in time).
