Me too! I have been reading news and articles. She is totally right, in the writing part, it is really helpful using templates and a tutor who can evaluate your writing. I don’t know if anyone needs to hear this but I feel it's right to say, so that no one else has to go through what happened to me. I took the TOEFL test a few days ago and it was one of the worst experiences I had to undergo. My screen froze during the writing section and I couldn’t scroll down to read the remaining passage during the integrated part. I called for the proctor for help and she IGNORED me for the better part of 50 minutes until the end of the entire test. The spectacle didn’t end there, as the proctor TALKED OUT LOUD on full volume when I had to listen to what I had to speak on during the speaking section. She continued talking through the speakers for more than a minute, during all the listening (even if she lied to the institution saying that she talked just to ask to lower the camera, that requires 3 seconds). I was so nervous and terrified as the sheer horror of speaking on something I could NOT hear. I had to compose myself and I did my best to speak as this joke of an “test” came to an end. This is incompetence and a scam. I immediately filed a complaint and sent them an email to open an investigation. It’s evident that “investigation” didn’t happen as ETS chose to not do their job like their LIAR of a proctor and simply took her word for it. My scores will stand and I was told I will not be allowed to retake the test for free. They chose NOT to review my RECORDED test. Choosing TOEFL was definitely one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made in my life. They’re morally bankrupt and shamelessly corrupt. Don’t let them mess with your future. I’ve said my piece, make of that what you will. And add that to all the complaints of other type you can find on this page (for example not receiving the scores in time).

I am amazed by how many people whom primary language is english and they still dont get a good score on Toefl...after all it is Test of English as FOREIGN Language. How should that make us,who's primary language isn't english feel?

while practicing, I get an average of 26 points on each part. i really don't know what to do to get more than that. it's kind of random... sometimes i get 24 sometimes i get 28, and i've stuck in between these two... I think the only way is to practice more... however if anyone has any idea about how i actually can get more than the average of 26 that i currently get, please HELP!

How can you score perfect in the TOEFL? The speaking section is just scorers's opinion of your speaking skills and they might just give you a perfect if they like your voice. But The reading section is too difficult. too many questions and long essays.

Hi I am an arab and we usually don't have middle names. So while I was registering for the toefl I left the box for middle name empty; however, in the SAT they consider the middle name to be your father's name. So is it the same for the toefl? I am really worried they would cancel my test.

while practicing, I get an average of 26 points on each part. i really don't know what to do to get more than that. it's kind of random... sometimes i get 24 sometimes i get 28, and i've stuck in between these two... I think the only way is to practice more... however if anyone has any idea about how i actually can get more than the average of 26 that i currently get, please HELP!
