Surprised the camper didn't have its own battery. Learned a few things, at least about your 2017 Capri.

yeah I think the dedicated battery system started after Tyson and Pete took over the company. most of the capri pre 2015 all ran off the truck battery. it works fine but if I were to order a new one I defiantly would get a dedicated battery system. for me the jackery 1000 works great though. thanks for watching! 🤠

I just got home yesterday with a 2022 Capri Cowboy. Same loading issue on my 2008 GMC 2500HD long bed. The dealer built a box out of 4x4s to get me home. Now I have to figure out a permanent solution.

you'll love it! the cowboys are great campers! i bet you'd be alright forever with the 4x4 setup or I've seen people build up that space with rubber mats as well

Thanks for putting the video together. I was thinking about getting a 6.5 Capri and putting it on a long bed Chevy. You think it would slide all the way to the cab and being able to close the tailgate?? Wondering since you needed to notch a bit out to get yours to fit.

yeah ive seen some guys do that. I think it works pretty well. extra storage too! plus a free back deck would be cool !

I really like your Capri Camper... wished I would gotten one instead of my heavy bloated Truc Camper... too big too fat too heavy. But I have my eye on the Capri Camper.

what do you do for cooling? you'd mentioned your jackery can't run the A/C... do you run a Max Aire when you don't have power?

hey Tom , honestly where I'm at I don't use the AC much but when I do I'm usually plugged into shore power; or I have a champion 3500 generator that powers the roof ac no problem. the jackery runs a fan great and ill usually do that at night if I need some cooling and don't have shore power. thanks for watching!

I've always wondered if you were sleeping in the bed and the driver drove over a bunch of rumble strips, would you feel it??

Awesome video brother! Sorry if this was answered, but is that their 8 foot bed model or the 6.5? Think it would be too crowded with your wife and kiddo along too? We are looking at Capri's and are just curious about room. Thanks and cheers from Montana!

thanks dude! My retreat is a 8 foot model. fits most all regular full size ( not short bed) trucks. I have had a capri on a shortbed , but it never really fit right and you had to leave tailgate down; plus seemed like center of gravity always seemed a little off. I don't think a full size capri (8') would be to crowded at all. I didn't show it in the video but the bed I'm sitting on folds up to a lounge/couch area, lots of rodeo guys also have fold up bunk beds in there's as well. Its kinda like a tiny home and you get really good at smart storage, but we've always traveled with ours everywhere and its like a hotel room on your truck! saved our butts many times! feel free to dm me on IG I can answer any other questions! Thanks for watching!
