      @Sonya Fox That's a funny coincidence indeed! While Steak and Ale wasn't originally started in Texas, it's interesting that the last Steak and Ale you dined at was in Dallas, TX. Really hope Steak & Ale makes a comeback soon. The one closest to me closed down when the chain folded and was replaced by a Ponderosa in 2011. They closed almost three years later. Maybe a part three soon covering that and a former chain called Hot n' Now? Also, saying that nobody misses these restaurants is a bit of a stretch.

    • @sonyafox3271
      @sonyafox3271 Год назад

      They really weren’t replaced by Ponderosa because, they were still in business back then, there is one still up and running in Kentucky and, I lived in Greensburg, IN from 2003 till 2009 and, sure enough they had a Ponderosa up and running! None of the Steak And Ale’s were actually located were put or near the old Ponderosa Locations! I used to go to the Bikini's on 75 & Campbell Rd in Richardson TX, one of the locations shown in its infamous Undercover Boss episode.
    Food quality was ALL OVER THE PLACE, and more disappointingly, the service was frequently awful. I did get to know some of the waitresses personally, and some were excellent at the job, but it was a real crapshoot. Too many times I came in only to have my waitress do a TERRIBLE job.
    The manager and I became well acquainted as he sincerely tried to address my frequent (but constructive) criticisms, but I finally tired of it and gave up.
    I suspect my experience was NOT unique, and probably explains more about their demise than the PREPOSTEROUS idea that their demographic was too narrow. As. IF.

      And also the reason why the small businesses fail and other businesses is because of Capitalism being a shitty system!

      And also the market crash of 2007 and 2008 and 2009,
      Is the product of Capitalism failing (Sorry if I’ve gone political.)

      I think we should get rid of “market competition” and replace it with
      market cooperation, collaboration, mutual aid and more!
      (That’s just my opinion)
      (We would have more smaller businesses and more independent business is if we have this alternative!) (sorry if I gone political and also off topic!)
