This movie does so many things right. The characters, their development, the fight choreography, the lessons, how well it depicts ancient China, it's all so great. One part I really like, and often see overlooked, is how after Po lays out his insecurities to Shifu, we see that Tigress heard the whole thing and finally started to soften up and feel sorry for him, and realized he was actually taking Kung Fu seriously, not "treating it like a joke" as she previously stated.
I read a long time ago that the Chinese were initially skeptical of how this film would turn out and were blown away at how good it was. And so Chinese producers participated in part 2 and 3
R.I.P. Michael Clarke Duncan, the voice of the Rhino prison guard, and Ian Mcshane also played Blackbeard in the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
Something I always liked with this film is how Po doesn't get all jacked once he learns kung fu. He remained his true chonky himself and his body shape helped contribute to beating Tai Lung
I love how it seemed like Po was only treating the whole 'Dragon Warrior' thing as a joke at first, only for him to show that he was serious about it and _wanted_ to learn Kung Fu the whole time, but he was too self-deprecating that he never saw himself as someone able to do what the Five are capable of doing.
Same for the wolves in kung fu panda too. They’re stylized so I understand some initial confusion but seriously 😂😂 I wouldn’t have thought it so befuddling
in a other reactions I’ve seen most people don’t recognise where Tai Lung’s rage comes from, and tend to not notice how his expression softened for a moment when Shifu apologised to him, so I really appreciated how u guys did in this reaction ^^ it’s a really important moment for his character imo that’s included in such a subtle detail.
Ti Lung trying to fight Po is like punching rubber, the one thing that was telegraphed to us about Po since the day he entered the Palace is that he can take punishment because his chubby constitution allows him to absorb blows that cripple others like the Prison guards, furious 5 or master Shi fu paired with his indomitable perseverance He's Ti Lung's counter because no matter how hard he can inflict damage Po can Take it and literally bounce back and even redirect that energy back onto his opponents, Ti Lung is all about overwhelming his opponent with brute force which is why his fight with Po seems so comical right after his fight with Shi fu was so serious It's because Ti Lung's brute strength just isn't working against Po and after a little while it becomes clear that he can't beat him since thats all he has
Yes! You perfectly explained the advantage Po has over Tai Lung and why he was able to defeat him. People coping and crying saying Po won cuz of “plot armor” but that’s just not true
@@rickyronny4019and also Po fighting style is more like chaotic-mess than a typical Kung Fu method. Tai Lung beat the Fives because he already surpassed them with moves, countermove and stuff, but he struggled against Po because Po didn’t use typical Kung Fu he just think outside the box and annoyed Tai Lung to no end 😂😂😂
Viper and Crane are my favorite characters, they were both nice to Po And I’m glad that Tigress became nicer towards the giant panda as she learned about his insecurities
Feathers from a bigger bird are very sturdy. I found a flacon feather on the hike once. It's pretty but the calamus of the feather is strong and sturdy. Makes sense as to why people used to use them as pens in ancient days.
A film about a fat panda doing kung fu sounds like potentially the dumbest thing ever. But the excellent characters, excellent humor, and a wonderful message turn it into something great! The message about working with your best qualities to fulfill your destiny is so well realized, with the training sequences that help fully embrace that. Seriously, this franchise is way better than it has any right to be.
Even though the Furious Five, minus Viper, were really mean to Po, they eventually warmed up to him after showing his determination to fight alongside them and saving China from Tai Lung
Tai Lung was trained from BIRTH in the art of kung fu, years of his life all the way up until he went to prison was he told by shifu that he’ll eventually be the dragon warrior, getting praised by him, training day in and day out and one day when he thinks he did enough work and he’ll be chosen, they tell him no. they told him it wasn’t his destiny when he worked too hard for it not to be ofc he’d run rampant through the village
Tai Lung is not a tiger, but a snow leopard, or snow leopard, or snow leopard, a common breed of wild cat across the Asian continents that is found exclusively in cold climates. The snow leopard is an exclusively Asian species. Species of true snow leopard in Central and South Asia, as well as in the countries of Afghanistan, Myanmar, Bhutan, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Kung fu Panda rocks! This is one of Jack Black's best movies ever. Learning about kung fu is awesome. This has some funny and interesting moments 🐼🐼🐼🐉🐉🐉🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣
One thing I like about this movie is that it's about following your dreams no matter what. If you truly want something or believe in something, go for it. Oddly enough, the school of rock is in the same boat to an extent.
Kung Fu means...something along the lines of EXCELLENCE OF SELF, so, its really about finding your own "groove" and mastering everything about YOURSELF. Po, however, is trying to fit into a mold that was NEVER made for someone with his physiology or fighting style.
Kung Fu Panda also had a TV series called "Kung Fu Panda Legends of awesomeness" but it's hard to find, but if you can please react to it, the show also takes place after the first movie.
You know, the funny thing is this movie sets up a continuing theme and skill with Po. He taught himself the finger hold after seeing it once. Even in the animated series "Legends of Awesomeness" Po learns a very rare move, the golden lotus clap, from seeing it once. His a nerd and studies hard, allowing him to perfect a move pretty quickly when left to his own devices.
The final test in po’s training montage is so good…it’s the first time shifu is seen laughing and smiling in the film. And it’s great because… You know that po said “I eat when I’m upset?” At the end of that montage he says “I’m not hungry” “He’s not upset”
Back in the day I seen it in theaters twice it was so good! It still holds up as one of the best animated series ever. Shrek, Toy story, How to train your dragon, and Madagascar are all also 🔥
So like that dream scene actually has some crazy foreshadowing details in it. Like I'll point it out when you guys get to the second or maybe last movie but just a tone of stuff
I know right, my first thought when i first saw the movie...the amount of reactors that seem to forget adoption excists is pretty crazy. Seen a lot of reactions, not one thought about it on their own. Or if they did its like waaayyyy into the movie.
I remember watching this movie in the theaters when I was 8 with my dad back in the day :) still a good movie to this day. And yes, Jack Black voices Po the Panda. His voice acting is fantastic. There are many other recognizable names that voice the other characters such as Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu, Dustin Hoffman, etc. Would like to see reactions to the other KFP movies. I hear a 4th one is coming out soon.
Man I wish I was friends with you two irl, bc bro it’s like you guys love everything I love! And we have the same sus sense of humor🤣 Ohhh I think we will see Tai Lung again soon…😉
Heck yeah!! Kung Fu Panda!! Also tigers and leopards are panthers since they're part of the genus Panthera, so Tai Lung is a panther due to the fact that he's a snow leopard.
This movie is such a funny movie. I love Jack Black. I was so exited when Jacki Chan played Monkey and Angeline Jolie played Tigeress. You guys should react to How To Train Your Dragon.
Thanks for reacting to this movie its one of my childhood favorite and one of the first movie i ever saw in theater when i was a kid thanks gosh i love this movie ❤🎉
Fun fact: All of the Furious 5 uses their respective style of Kung Fu (Tigress with Tiger Style, for instance), except for Po. There is no Panda Style Kung Fu, so Po uses Dragon Style.
A friend of mine had a theory that Oogway died a while ago and was using all of his strength just to stick around long enough to settle his affairs so to speak. That’s the real reason why he decided he had to pick the dragon warrior when he did. Which was in fact what set in motion Tai Lung’s return, “one often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it.” And when Shifu said he would try to believe in Po, that was the last thing Oogway needed to hear before he could leave.
I've watched many people react to Kung Fu Panda, and they're always confused about Po and his dad. Is it really that difficult to conceptualize adoption? 😭
Its so weird to me how many reactors struggle with the idea of ADOPTION. The first time i saw the goose, my first thought was huh...probably adopted. But almost every reactor ive seen is like...huh what how... Duh....adoption.

Tai Lung LITERALLY means "The Dragon"; also, he's a snow leopard.

He's a snow leopard a evil one .
I think one of the best subtle parts to this is how you see Shifu learning to smile and actually enjoy teaching kung fu again when he's with Po.
You know, pandas aren't actually fat. All bears, including pandas, are extremely muscular but have thick layers of fur that make them look fat.
