I live in a 1 bedroom apartment that's like a small house but only 877 sqft. I've been using Vizio sound bars for quite a few years now. Started with 2.0, then moved to 2.1, and finally 5.1. My first 5.1 were the SB3651-E6 units. They are good units. I still have one in use. The main downside for me was mixing older specs with new eventually started creating more glitches. with audio, etc. For one the bigger downsides of the older Vizio 5.1 units, and the cheaper V Series is they don't support the lossless codecs found on Blu-ray / UHD Blu-ray, etc. They do usually accept LPCM 5.1 though through HDMI In (not ARC) if you have a device that can decode and send multi channel PCM. For the average user this doesn't matter, however it can cause audio delays, and sometimes playing the lower quality audio has other affects too. With the M Series I just got, it has lossless codec support, 4k / HDR passthrough and the Atmos / DTS:X certifications. Since installing a dedicated system isn't an option for me, having lossless 5.1 is the most important to me right now. With that said, the Atmos with the virtual height channels isn't perfect, but for a small space adds clarity and detail to the soundtrack, mainly the independence of objects in the audio track from the rest of the sound track vs just surround that can't take advantage of the Atmos metadata. I'm just starting into 3D audio. However, I think this is a good step up that's future proof until I can go dedicated setup. By the way, people who have used and reviewed the sound bars with the upward facing speakers have often said, it only works good in certain environments. It seems like for the best Atmos experience, or DTS:X you need to be able to mount speakers in the ceiling.
Thanks for the review. Was looking at the 2.1 because the 5.1 was a little bit more expensive BUT seeing as the 5.1 is only $60 more, I said F it and got the 5.1
I have a Vizio 2.1 all in one sound bar . That sounds great the only problem is that the dialogue is low and the sound effects are high and I have to keep turning the volume up and down. Is there anything I can do to fix that?
My biggest beef with soundbars is their misleading marketing. Like why call something a 2.1 if it isn't. Why call something atmos if it doesn't at least have an upward firing portion to it. I guess misleading customers is what sells product. EDIT: For what it's worth I'd rather have a home theater in a box because at least that will be future proof since you can upgrade parts independently.
Hi, I'm thinking of buying some VIZIO speakers and doing some research before making the purchase. I was about to buy the M51AX-J6 for $300 from B&H, but then I saw the M512A-H6 listed for $427. So I started some research My intention is to use it for watching movies and gaming, I want that feeling of sounds coming from all around. I thought I would get that with the M51AX-J6 with support for Dolby Atmos, that the V series doesnt have, but now I see that the M512A-H6 might be better. In the Rtings comparison, it says that the Surround of the M51AX-J6 5.1 is satisfactory, and have a "middling Atmos performance", but the one of the M512A-H6 5.1.2 is good, and the other sentence that also made me doubt about whether to buy the 5.1 is that about the 5.1.2: "Audio seems to be coming from all around you rather than just from speakers placed in front of you". Can anyone who tried the two tell me if that's the case?
I disconnected the two satellite speakers on the 5.1 and Make no mistake w/o satellite speakers watching movies is not fun at all. Also having the subwoofer in the corner of the wall on the side of your sofa creates a boom sound that takes the sound environment to another level. Incredible experience!!! Love watching action movies at full blast feeling the sound vibrations all over the living room and your body ! Overwhelming experience! Highly recommended.
Echogear adjustable height speaker stand. I got them for the V series and M series and they work perfectly with these satellite speakers. Amazon about 50 bux.
Any recommendations for a open space living room set up in a small apartment? I have my tv by the corner next to my outside/balcony wall. I am concerned with too much bass possibly causing issues with neighbors below and around. I am more of a night owl so I tend to be awake at times that most people might be sleeping but I don't listen to stuff extremely loud. I definitely need a sound bar asap. I have a Vizio 4k tv and am dying for a better sound but I am on a bit of a budget at the moment. I used to use an old Philips mini hifi system and it packed a punch but that was in a house and I rather get something more suited for an apartment thanks
I have this system paired to a Hisense u7g 75". I am experiencing sound drop out each hour and 10 minutes for 12 seconds. It drops completely each time. If I have the TV output including TV speaker, the eArc sound drops but the TV speaker stays going. Does this mean my Vizio m series is bad or is it the TV? I am thinking the TV and it's been repaired once by Hisense and it's less than 4 mo's old and having these problems. I would like to hear from anyone I can I this. Thanks!
I have one of these. Should my surrounds be vertical or horizontal? I've seen examples of both but idk how either orientation effects sound stage. Also I've seen them placed directly behind you in the corners behind you and directly to the side. I'm so confused. Please help.
HDMI 2.1 is only for 120 fps 4k or standard 8k. Unless you game, it's not necessary. HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.3 is all you need to cover streaming and all Blu-ray discs.
So this was... different. Different editing, new face, no measurements, lower end gear, different format....soundbars... Im all all about trying new things, but this wasnt my fav. Background audio could be tamed down, or just at the into or something. Im assuming this video has a VERRRY different target audience than your core viewer which is great. I absolutely love your no nonsense approach to audio and hope you guys can expand your audience. Most people could care less about great sounding equipment and start their audio journey looking for something like this. For me this just screamed VIZO sponsored shilling. Im not saying these are bad products or that this is even the case buuutttt yeah. I can go check out vizios promotional nonsense if i wanted that. Dunno what the advice would be, somehow make it a VIZIO promo with some audioholics twist? Love me some audioholics never the less.

👌🏼 You’ve basically answered all my questions without watching the video. Thanks!
vizio's are not perfect but price to performance i rank them #1
So true! I'm a big fan of their TV's for the same reason. Awesome price/performance
In terms of audio systems, what's #2?
Great review but I'd lower the volume of the music... It's too loud and distracting.
Yep agreed. I told them for future videos. thanks
Thanks for the review. Was looking at the 2.1 because the 5.1 was a little bit more expensive BUT seeing as the 5.1 is only $60 more, I said F it and got the 5.1
To make a long story short, 2.1 for music only, 5.1 for music and movies. No matter what they say 2.1 won't immerse you with sound.
Can we make this a thing: music isn't needed for reviews.
Howard Shore, if you are not, Background Music, you must not play.
This video was unbearable 😭😭
Hear him! Hear him!
Background music is always too loud in almost all videos.
Distracting, stopped watching.
Hola, cual ofrece mejor calidad de sonido y envolvente? V51 or m51? Thanks?

Can you review the Vizio 5.1.2 m series Soundbar. I’m really trying to see how it compares to the sb36512-f6 which is the previous 5.1.2 model.
I have the v series and recent but the m series for a friend. Both are legit for the money but the m series is worth the extra 100 bux.
Good to know, I was on the fence between the two
You are very good at what you do!!! THANK YOU!!

You can adjust it using the remote or change the mode on the remote.
you can press the EQ button and customize the levels

I was done at “it’s definitely an upgrade… over internal speakers.”
Seems like a good solution for a bedroom 👍🏼
Hi. Any review on the m series vs the v series 2.1 bars. Both with subs.
Great reviews. This helped me decide. Thumbs up.
Doing that video with the gear behind you is like trying to sell a hotdog with a porterhouse right next to it.

Why would a guy who doesn't care about sound watch a program that it's sole purpose is about great gear that does that very purpose ?

What brand of stands can you buy for the speakers ?
Echogear adjustable height speaker stand. I got them for the V series and M series and they work perfectly with these satellite speakers. Amazon about 50 bux.
Is Audioholics going to review the Tone Winner processor or amps that some of the independent content creators have been talking about?
Not opposed to it though skeptical on their brand identity and staying power.

Should I have Truvolume on or off for movies?
Amazing video

i have one coming in and im gonna test it myself and see where it sounds best. cant find almost any info on this online
have you figured it out by now?
Just put/adjust the rear speakers to what sounds good TO YOU. What one person thinks sounds good might not sound good to you.
Does this have a flat EQ setting?l Something without any enhancements?
Just bought the m series with the Dolby atmos, my question is the hdmi that comes with it does that support the atmos or do I need an HDMI 2.1?
HDMI 2.1 is only for 120 fps 4k or standard 8k. Unless you game, it's not necessary. HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.3 is all you need to cover streaming and all Blu-ray discs.
@@dan_hitchman007 good advice
Looked forward to watching the video but I have to say the “background” music was just too much.
Best soundbar all in one. The best. Cool looking too
can I connect to PC?
Very good video! Thanks
for the m series you need a hdmi 2.1 cable to get dolby atmos
So I can plug my Series X 2.1 directly into this and then of course an HDMI to my TV and everything should be good for Dolby atmos to work?
Love the sound bars vizo has 5.1
sound garbage bar trash . but why waste your time with garbage trash dolby labs garbage trash. auro 3d garbage trash dtsx garbage trash ,..
Love mine. ,!
Wowww , thank you

@@chashint1 This was NOT a sponsored video. Idiotic comment. Vizio sent their soundbars to one of our guys to shoot a video about them.
