Why, in this voluntary membership , melting pot country, are still people believing you cannot defend themselves?
Because of career politicians that are continually re-elected, because voluntary citizens love subsidies( other peoples tax money)! Fine patriots hate gvt., but, need the “ free” gvt money( vote buying) , so they can bitch about the victim life. Sounds like some need their membership revoked

I enjoyed this documentary but I think it underestimates Billy Jack's impact on the world. The movie Billy Jack was hard hitting and well received by millions of people who suddenly found a story about a hero standing up against racism and bigotry of the times.
The movie itself was well received by martial artists in general. At the time, there were two martial art heroes: Bruce Lee and Billy Jack. Billy Jack not only fought for the people he fought for himself by trying to dig deeper into the spiritual roots of Native American shamanism and medicine.
Billy Jack was always my hero growing up. He always tried to do what's right and, even when things were going against him, he found the courage to face things.

Hi there! Even I was 19 years old, the first time I saw "Born Loosers" n' "The Legend of Billy Jack (1971)"... more or less, in the early nineties; I've got a hold on into late sixties n' early seventies in a somewhat way through, that had wowes me then, to permanent honor and recognition onto this caracter persuit for: rightness, social righs, real needed changes, minorities full endibements of respects and justice for all...! Never mind many of the action heroes of my youth, back then... Hope so or much damn more, on today's topical issues of a new scene... never mind to come jet, so far... But, thanks!!!

The person who made this video is just transcribing Laughlin's Wikipedia entry, almost verbatim. And as for Laughlin's "sad ending"? He lived to be 82 years old. He made three iconic films, possibly four (The Master Gunfighter). And ten years after his death, people are still interested in his work. There's nothing sad about that.

Tom and his character Billy Jack magnetized me to his movie of the same name during the early 70's which appeared on tv. I was glued to the tv set and enjoyed his character and the storyline. It was the realism of the fighting and the purpose of his character Billy Jack which I could relate to. He was a hero who defended the weak and stood for justice. I couldn't wait for it to show on tv.

Loved the Billy Jack character and Tom Laughlin has always been one of my idols. In the movie Billy Jack, he kicks the head honcho, town bad guy bossman in the side of the face. I had never seen that kick before and I had been doing different Martial Arts since early childhood. I learned that the kick was called a inside crescent kick. I had to learn that kick. I practiced that kick for 2 hours every day for many months, probably a year at least. Until I was able to execute that kick perfectly. It was very effective.
I wish Billy Jack number five had been completed. It always seemed like he had so much against him trying to release his films. Really miss his character in films, he was one cool guy.

I didn't know about the Montessori School part of Tom and Delores' career. I will say the Montessori methodology is the best of all early childhood educational systems around and those two dropping everything to ensure their child had the best education they could give her and in the process build a large and thriving school for the wonderful education of other children makes these two truly successful. Ask any mother what she is most proud of - a brilliant career or the daughter that she raised.

I have it in my collection as one of my greatest finds. Billy Jack was the rebel American veteran hero in the 70's, who really belonged in the 60's.

Billy Jack was has iconic a movie ever made. It opened up alot of eyes to the plight of the native American, made by a nation that only wanted to sweep atrocities made by our government under the Flag.

The best Billy Jack movie, in my opinion, was “Born Loser”, tho a dark trippy film it was, with a gay biker-gang leader sub-plot that was before it’s’ time and somewhat shocking for a 70’s film.
