@@billyshears2032 - Having spent 5 years living in Tokyo I can certainly attest to the fact that Tokyo is fairly clean. Still, I wouldn’t say that it's any cleaner than the cities I have lived in here in southern California, like San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara. I’ll admit that back in the 60’s the sides of US highways looked like a garbage dump as travelers would just throw their trash out the car window but after a $1000 fine was imposed for such things that problem cleared up pretty quickly. Furthermore, the term “the West” includes everything from European counties to the USA and Canada and you cannot just lump them all together like that as if they are all the same. After all I’m sure some of these Western countries are cleaner than Japan while others might be dirtier. Back to Japan though, while Tokyo is a fairly clean city, it's not nearly as clean as Singapore - a city which probably takes the top spot in the world for cleanliness. Also, in Tokyo on the weekends you are always going to find a lot of vomit pools around the train stations. This is so true in fact that I used to jokingly tell people that if they ever got lost to just follow the vomit puddles like breadcrumbs back to the nearest station. You will also often see men urinating in public. Both of these problems stem from the fact that Japanese love to drink to excess. Anyway, although the years I spent in Tokyo were probably the best of my life it still has its problems like everywhere else.

I remember as a kid my older siblings had a paperback book put out by MAD Magazine that had a whole section about various vending machines that dispensed unusual products - race horses, items for farmers, luxury cars and things like that. I think there's some confusion, as they are both RUclipsrs making a video about going to a vending machine for meeting up with girls. Walking home to the base, I would get cold and the best thing to do is buy a hot can of coffee from the vending machine. Warmed up my hands and gave me that extra warmth to make it back to the base.
