I totally love how you guys are willing to try things. I think that is part of great traveling. My friends always head to McDonald’s. You two are the best
Fortune wending machine is hands down the best of them all, at least aesthetically. It's so cute and have an entertainment value in and of itself with the fortunes themselves as a cherry on top. I'd even call it a piece of art.
I think it would be cool if the fortunes were different colors to build suspense. Like bad ones are red, regular ones are blue and the best are golden so when you see her bringing it out you can get excited or worried
We love how the insects were eaten with zero hesitation. 😂😂 Next time we're in Japan, we need to try more vending machines! We definitely didn't use them enough when we were there. Also, stale popcorn is sooooo disappointing. We probably would have eaten it too. 😂😂😂 Happy new year!
Thanks a lot dude! I was trying to find something to watch while eating dinner and I saw the title of this video and it sounded interesting. I start watching it and not even one minute in I literally got sick from watching you eat that cookie and couldn't eat any mor of my dinner I had ordered. Thanks again.
I kinda had feeling last night that Lisa and Josh would go crazy over vending machines soon, and sure enough... here it lands! I love this video!!! Thank you!
I love the vending machines in japan…also the drink that Cheveyo had is delicious…its called Calpis Water and its a sweet drink that looks milky…they also have it in a soda form as well…its one of my faves!
Hi this is my first time on your channel, I'm a new sub from New Zealand and you have a fan in me. Love this content and both your synergy on camera, life.
Back in the days, before there were cell phones, I travelled across Japan, and I ate a lot of Vending machine food, I rarely knew what I was getting, sometimes it was good, sometimes not. But the experience, has lasted a lifetime. I still have my dog-eared, beat up, Japanese to English translation book, and a little device I bought, that would translate spoken English to Japanese, and Japanese to English, that I bought in Tokyo
the pan can is a play on words cause not only is pan the first half of panda, but pan is also how you say bread in japanese (originally a loan word from the portuguese that ended up being used universally)
I am so proud of what I witnessed. Japanese tourists came to Germany. They saw for the first time French fry vending machine. The potatoes get fried when you order. They never seen it in Japan. I was so proud witch is silly really that they saw a brand new type of vending machine in good old Germany
The Hanko Vending machine makes stamps that are souvenir versions of the actual stamps people use in Japan to sign official documents. it is not your official signature as that would have to be registered with the government, but it is a great souvenir to bring back home.
Very nice, next time I go to Japan I need to visit the Akihabara one at the end of the video. If you're interested there's a super cool vending machine with craft beer and wine in a can. It's in Kyushu, on the outskirts of Kumamoto, near the airport. Just look for witchcraft (beer) 🍻
Brilliant film, an amazing experience. I will not likely travel to Japan in my lifetime, or get to enjoy these extraordinary vending machines. Thank you for sharing guys! #TGBATG
What a blast! We can't wait to go on our first international trip. Love following your adventures. We're also big fans of One Pack Wanderers so it is an extra treat when we catch y'all on the same video!! Maybe one day we'll be cool enough to meet up with you two! Hehehe 😆💚 Happy Traveling!!
Thank you for doing this video! I know not to go for the mystery item machines and food machines because you get frozen food(save for later). Definitely getting the corn soup machine as my teen daughter says is on her bucket list for over a year. Loved your Tokyo vlog. Keep up the awesome content!
4:40 you need to register that 20:29 we have them in Ireland the last 25 years people didn't even have mobile phones you were lucky to have a house phone
Pretty amusing you guys and super adventurous. My favorite vending machines are in north Kyoto where they have cacti, fresh farm greens, mini pumpkins etc.
The variety never ceases to amaze me! But, oh, you didn't encounter any used girl's underwear vending machines? I thought for sure that would have been in the unlit cave sections you went in. There was one (in a cluster like that) on my route to the train station when I lived there 15 years ago. No thank you!
FYI you're supposed to melt a blob of wax onto the paper and then stamp it with the engraved rod, not melt the end of the rod that has the engraving on
I never thought Bob Marley would raise from his grave and teach me the proper technique of applying a wax seal to a document. Truly, we live in a society.
#3 was like it's a convenience for people working the harvest and or working in the polytunnels. I mean, after a while you'd want to take a break and have maybe a sugary drink.
These are awesome, I guess we dont have them in the US, is because they would be broken into, stolen etc. Yep, we have nothing cool like these, so sad, we arent super at anything anymore.
In America, there is various vending machines, but it's mostly unhealthy snacks and drinks, there's other vending machines, but they're not as well-known and also when it comes to vending machines in America, there's not going to be mysterious vending machines and if they are, they're not very well-known, I've not seen videos of vending machines in America, especially, if there's any type of mystery vending machines. Now that I think about it, I want to see more vending machines in America, especially if their mysterious.
One thing I found interesting about Japan, as it speaks volumes about the people in general. There are open shops in that have no staff. Usually, they sell produce. The customer takes what they want and leave the money. Basically, it's on an honour system, and the vast majority of Japanese people comply with the system. That said, I think you deposit the money into a locked box. Let's face it, Japanese people may be honest, but they're not stupid. Free money tempts us all, regardless of race. 🤣
I like that Japan, is known for a lot of things and one of them is, a big place off of vending machines. To be honest, I don't think that various vending machines will work in America and if it does, well, it does, but in the meanwhile I don't think it's going to work.
We agree! We wish they could work in the US too. Most of the ones we’ve seen have been chips and sodas. We’ve been on the lookout for fun ones as we travel now
I get the vending machine thing, I was eating out of vending machies at my job back in the 80's, but I am not paying $1.50 to get a banana out of a vending machine, ever.
My friend moved to Tokyo to teach English to adults and was paid well for his efforts, but he said the cost of living was through the roof and lived in a pod that was just a space that only held a bed! But he said there was vending machines everywhere and Said he ate most of his food from them!
I used to buy random shit from every vending machine I could find (though I always lived either in rural Indiana or semi-rural East Texas. I love the idea if the vending machines for fucking everything 😆.
lol the Hanko is not for wax ... its a stamp you use with ink also I don't recommend this, if you want one for official regular use you should get someone made by an expert especially as you don't seem to know the Kanji that you had to choose ^^V I was looking at those mashines before as well but none of the options made much sense according to my Japanese friends.
Did you go and see whoever was at that coke machine? Like that'd be great content to talk to them.... idk just something I'm curious about now. Goats are cool.
@@LisaAndJosh Crickets are high in protein. I first heard of it on Shark Tank US. A company called Chapul makes protein bars using cricket flour. They also sell cricket protein.
That vending machine in the middle of farm land...I wish Spain had more of those along the Camino!
Try finding a shop open at 3 in the morning. No problem. Find a vending machine.
Too much vandalism in Europe sadly.
@@lovelyhurlin6494 Imagine walking by the vending machine and though it was some kind of Banksy project

30+ years without a holaday.

Yes!! Take that trip, enjoy!
Definitely take like 3 weeks at least though c:

hold up, did yall use a translation app?? does that like scan the item and translate it to english?
I wish the US had the same love for vending machines as Japan. I’d probably be fat and broke but have a blast doing so.
The name stamp vending machine is very new, that's very convenient. I had to get mine special made with hiragana for 5000 yen.
Fun video but Calpis aka Calpico is a very famous drink sold everywhere also in America.
When ever I watch these Japan vending machine videos. Every single one of them wind up here 25:30

So slightly confused that a cricket cookie is less unique than a banana vending machine? Please explain
I like the family reference. " It could be anything in there, even a voat"
With some of those really tucked away machines I can't help but wonder how much botulism there is in Japan. 🤔
Anything frozen should be slow thawed in the refrigerator. Defrosting at room temp increases bacteria development as it rapidly thaws.

is it the Monsoon Season? (or Rainy Season anyway?)
I think the family crest stamp is supposed to be for wax rather than ink 😅
corn soup. i guess its more of a corn potage soup? rather than a cream of corn?

You are correct. You may notice that the money counter counts up as the video goes along
The fat slices go on saltines or toast. Same with Jamón Ibérico fat if you ever have it.
24:30 - If you "dethawed" something, you'd in fact be freezing it again.
How is the alcohol one legal? What’s to keep a child from buying? The honor system?

I genuinely would have tried all of that, except the horse 🐴 😒 I'm thinking those last vending machines in the alley is where they go to die!
We were a bit hesitant at first as well, but turns out horse sashimi is quite a popular delicacy here and...when in Rome! (Tokyo!)
