    Good lad David, a true Northerner, plan the drinking before everything else, proud of you, love my Shimano reels but you're right prices are eye watering.

    Another great vid Dave. Being a pensioner, I don't get out as much as I'd like. I live in Whitley Bay, but do most of my fishing at Sandy bay/Newbiggin. Its great watching you and Gaz from the comfort of my living room. Thanks very much for taking the time to record and post videos, and I wish you and your family a Merry Xmas and have a great 2023.

    Hi David I have must bought the XSD looks and feels awesome, have you tried using the spool filler inserts to save line?
    Do you switch between spools light line for the beach on one and heavier line on the other for the rocks?
    First impression the drag control and spool release on the top top is very smooth and hard to grip if you want to change spools
    Cheers
    Steve

    Great review David, I’ve recently bought a power aero xsb after tossing between that and your reel in question, but after a very good deal it was a no brainer with the price difference, however I fed the same as you, the standard handle feels a little to small and finicky when cracking through kelp etc, I’ve been recommended the gormexus power handle knob however I prefer the bullseye style you’ve changed yours too, but I’m just wondering weather you know if the bullseye style would fit the power aero xsb. Keep up the good work

      Cheers Charlie much appreciated. Sounds like you got a good deal👍
      I’m not sure if it would mate. It might be worth ringing North East Tackle Supplies and speaking to Gary there, he might be able tell you as I know he’s got experience with all of those reels. If not maybe a dig round on some forums to see if anyone has tried it. Hope that helps and tight lines 👍

    Good review Dave, all the best to you and Garry for 2023 re bail arm being cut through, I use Abu multipliers, 6500 mag elite (beach) 7500c3 (rocks) both with level winds, I have started using braid and one thing that happens with both reels but mainly the 6500 is loops pop out and catch the back of the level wind something that's never happened with mono. I wonder if these loops are catching your bail arm? The more I give it the beans the more it happens!

    • @fullcircleangling
      @fullcircleangling  Год назад

      Thanks a lot Steve same to you, hope you’ve had a good one👍
      I think my issue was more to do with human error or the bail arm accidentally flipping back over pre cast without me noticing.
      Thanks again for commenting and your support for the family, tight lines for 2023👍👍

    I asked you about these the other day and then stumbled on your brilliant review, cheers buddy. Still in two minds about purchasing one, may I just ask one final question. Years ago when I used fixed spools, the only thing I didn’t like about them was if you were bringing in a large fish, I sometimes got some movement with the reel bending slightly as I cranked away. Given the non-metallic structure of these, you don’t get that with this do you, when you’re bringing something heavy in?

    • @fullcircleangling
      @fullcircleangling  Год назад +1

      Hi Chris, glad the review was useful. Personally I’ve found, due to the low gearing of these reels, they feel solid and smooth and don’t have a tendency to bend. The handles are actually metal so there’s no problem there.
      They’re not cheap so ideally, if you can, trying before you buy would be a huge benefit.
      Hope that helps and tight lines👍

    Sure is a nice reel and a nice price but you do get what you pay for or should do .I have heard when they go wrong they do cost a lot of money to get repaired . Merry Christmas buddy and thanks for your video,s.

    Good, honest review.👏
    My opinion is that if I could afford £600 for a reel, I'd want it to be metal, not plastic.🤔
    I have had a Shimano ultegra XSA for years and had no problem at all. It came with 2 spools, 12000 and 10000, so 1 spool mono and the other braid for me.😃😃
    But, if I'm correct, the new shimanos come with 1 spool and various adjusters. Not much choice there.🥺
    My Shimano biomaster 8000 came with 6000, 7000 and 8000 spools.😃😃
    Sorry, but I feel Shimano reels don't justify their price anymore. Just my opinion.🥺

    • @fullcircleangling
      @fullcircleangling  Год назад +1

      Thanks very much Ian appreciate the detailed feedback 🙏 I agree, I’m not sold on the Ci4 material, reels that price should not be anything other than metal.
      Yep one spool and spacers so not ideal for the price.
      Best wishes and thanks for your support for the channel this year, really appreciate it🙏 have a great Christmas, best wishes 👍

    Xsb is the better reel marginally over the newer model xsc, personal opinion, after 8 years, your handle upgrade definately a good move on xsc may now source one myself now l know you can as there definately not interchangeable as l ve tried.
    l fish with both, my pair xsb are in their 8th year and still 100%, my go to braid reels here in north east anywhere you need distance, over all grounds.I use all metal penns for lobbing in heaviest ground local.
    The newer xsc l use match fishing with mono only, down on South Coast only now.
    Lot people say these Shimanos are not up to heavy fishing, l beg to differ, like any reels if you don't abuse them and service them properly they will last.
    And more importantly don't crank the death out of the gears under a full heavy load, with likes of full load fish and kelp on.
    lve had one my xsb in Africa on more than one occasion, on proper fish that do take a lot of line and it was smooth as silk and with a faultless drag.
    My compliments on your videos, quality content, honest and to the point, very entertaining thankyou😎👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻

      Hi David, thanks very much for taking the time to comment in detail, very much appreciated and duly noted, seems the XSB has the edge, I'm definitely going to try and get hold of one when I sell my Bullseye.
      Tight lines for 2023 and thanks again, cheers.
