Something about this song takes me back to the serene bliss of being a kid in the eighties. Sweetness, innocence...maybe a smidgen of tears for fears and a dash of synthpop in there. Reminds me a lot of the music on the Drive Soundtrack.
This is without question one of the most special tracks I've ever been blessed to listen to. A truly brilliant and amazing piece of genius right here. Moody and beautiful.
This song has an amazing aurora to itself. I don't think I've heard anything like it. The guitar is so beautiful, pads are so perfect, drums are perfect, vocals are incredible. The song feels slow yet it's upbeat. So wonderfully delicious.
I used to listen to this song up and down after 5 doctors told me I had merely 3 or 4 weeks left to live...cancer growing 19 by 17 cm on the liver through my vena cava into the right side of my heart with 55 liters of water in my tissue from my belly to my toes...remeniscing, dreaming of the beyond, wishing, crying, hoping...so I declined their offer of chemotherapy which may possibly could have given me some extra time..and here I am..23 months later...still loving the melancholy it gives me. I just love this song.
This is probably one of the top five songs I have ever heard in my life; it is absolutely pulsing with emotion and sounds like being 17 on the first night of Summer and you just fell in love for the first time. My only regret is that I discovered it 15 years too late.
This one time, maybe 2 or 3 years ago, I left autoplay on when I was falling asleep to RUclips. I started by playing a totally unrelated video of a guy that usually talked in his videos while drawing. I don't remember what time it was, probably morning, but when I woke up, I noticed that RUclips was still playing. This is what was playing. I just left it playing until it was done. I don't know how RUclips took me here, and God knows how many M83 songs or whatever it took me through until I got to this one, but I am so glad it did. Thank you, RUclips, for finally taking me to the right videos for once, and thank you, M83, for making this masterpiece.
I always think of my best friend that introduced me to M83 when I hear this song. I always think of her when I hear any song of m83. I miss her so much. For a long time I wouldn't even listen to m83 because all of the good times we shared . I loved that girl and she had no idea.
I went on a trip to my home state california for a winter and stayed with my brother who was stationed at the time up in fort irwin. since it was xmas time, we made a few trips to shop for gifts and visit family, but what i remember most and loved about being over there was the weather and the landscape. m83 was the band i was listening to at the time and everytime i listen to this song it reminds of that trip. the cold but refreshing air that glides throughout the california desert is just incredible during the winter, and with music like this it took me to pure euphoria. good times...
@@BulletProofBacon I just tried that song and no it doesn't even compare. That seems like another formulaic love song; this is ambient and piercing in its beauty---almost otherworldly.
I can not believe I forgot about this song. I use to drive around with my friends back when this came out blasting new music. I always loved how the beat would drop right after the keyboard.
One of my favorite song of ever! It's amazing, sensual, ckean, and dreaming. Everytime that I listen it, I imagine myself that dance along on a sicilian rural prairie in a night of wind. At the end of prairie I see an ancient and magnificent feudal valley, in the silence of blowing of wind.
They are from the M83 Galaxy incarnated as humans. Like many of us here now, shhh, the controllers are not suppose to know, lol. I am still from the Milky Way Galaxy, where Earth is located.
The thing about M83 is the fact that Anthony Gonzalez is actually the one who is writing the music, it's all him sometimes his brother helps. He doesn't use other people like most so called "artists" do these days
heard M83 for the first time 10 years ago as warm up band to depeche mode in Munich... To the bass to that song i thought "what da fuck!! this is sooo good WHo is this?!" and here we still are in later 2022 :D
This is so viscerally dark and sensual. This and Into The Past by Nero have the best female vocals I’ve ever heard. This song belongs in a top quality vampire movie or the series.
Hi the band. Soon 50 yo, I can tell that this jewel - since mid. 80's when I discovered Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance and This Mortal Coil, is a wonderful sublime surprise done today ! I've absolutely no words to explain what and how my soul is listening this amazing track, melodies & harmonies are perfect - as those deep voices. I must thank you - so respectfully and sincerely, for this sound's beauty, really ! Fortunately such artists like you - through any style, when songs are made like this, are able to transpose many deep feelings from listeners like me & many others. THANK YOU SO MUCH ❗️😍❗️🔥❗️ And yes, I'm in heaven with angels now 🙏🏻
First listened to this during a borderline 2nd/3rd plateau DXM session years ago. It is now branded into my soul, and gives me chills up my spine every time it crests. A real spine tingler.
Want to Thank M83 "the soundtrack Saturdays=Youth literally saved my life it brought me put of a dark place where I would not have came back from. I was in the process of Ending My Life, these two songs Skin of the Night & Midnight City. It hit me right to my soul" M83 i will always love your music and will forever be externally greatful for yall comming into my life at that right moment in time. ❤
This song is so evocative. One of my very favourites. I call it my "bisexual" song because I would listen to it walking at night in the beautiful summer scented darkness at Cremorne Point around Sydney Harbour, and think about my attraction to women. Most beautiful sapphic song I've ever heard.
April 11, 2008 was the album release date, it's 2020 now (Wow, 12 years.) Those kids are probably 16-17? They're almost 30 so who knows, maybe working jobs and trying to survive and advance their lives probably. Who knows, maybe some of them have nice careers.
M83 AND BANDS LIKE THESE OWES SOME DEBT TO TANGERINE DREAM WITHOUT THEM YOU WOULDN'T HAVE THESE TYPE OF ATMOSPHERIC MUSIC ! TANGERINE DREAM WERE THE PIONEERS OF ELECTRONIC PROGRESSIVE MUSIC!
15 million, forty thousand light years away... Met them on tour in 2008- i was security at the venue.. They set up their own equipment. Humble and talented people.. Shame Kibby split from the band... When you have two genius singer songwriters- they have to do thier own thing..
Estuve en un viaje hace tiempo, estaba escuchando esta canción y me recuerda mucho al calor de las dunas en un atardecer y lo solitario que era, en la noche se puso muy frio y en el cielo se veia la vía lactea, fue genial.
This band is so criminally underrated after all these years this amount of views is disgraceful
It’s criminal.
Nicolas left the group they are from France and Anthony still lives in France it's not criminal they. Separate d
las cosas muy buenas no son para todo el mundo.
I agree with you 1000%
This is the best song from M83..now 2023 still love to listening it bring all the unforgettable memories back ♥
This band is a masterpiece!!
I will never forget this sound!!
Wish you all a happy new year 2025!!
❤
Something about this song takes me back to the serene bliss of being a kid in the eighties. Sweetness, innocence...maybe a smidgen of tears for fears and a dash of synthpop in there. Reminds me a lot of the music on the Drive Soundtrack.
Kinda funny it does that considering what the lyrics are about...
December 2024…still one of the most incredible songs I’ve heard 🙏🏻
This is without question one of the most special tracks I've ever been blessed to listen to. A truly brilliant and amazing piece of genius right here. Moody and beautiful.
+Brasov Raskon Quit flapping your gums n*****
This song has an amazing aurora to itself. I don't think I've heard anything like it. The guitar is so beautiful, pads are so perfect, drums are perfect, vocals are incredible. The song feels slow yet it's upbeat. So wonderfully delicious.
It's perfect.
How hasn't this song got over a million plays ? It's sensational.
M83 deleted the video for some reason
I forgot just how amazing this album is. The production is always flawless and goosebump imducing.
Still one of the sexiest and visceral songs I've ever heard..
Sarah Beth it certainly does have a sexy swagger to it
It's awesome when people recognize that, this is one of the most moving songs with genuine sexiness that is visceral, good call :)
I love driving at night and blast this song, with a empty road.
I second that there's nothing better makes you really feel alive
Yeah Buddy 🏎🏁💨🔥🎸💯 Freeway Driving Tuneage 🎵
One hand on the wheel, glance at the moon once while your at the stop light, and then just fucking punch it.
same here. driving z too. met this song in 2011 and still on top for me.
I was just doing this. Highway of endless dreams is another really good one to do it with.
What do the doctors say now? My brother got lymphoma and thankfully got better.
Yeah? I am cancer survivor myslef, at just 24 y/o and the chem saved my life. Stop spreading bullshit across the internet, it is harmfull
Keep fighting!
Are you still here?
Please still be here
Both voices are so adorable, sweet and soothing, I come back to this song year after year.
There will never be another song like this. They could never make me hate you guys 😮💨
This may be one of the most atmospheric songs ever and it's so sexy.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
This is probably one of the top five songs I have ever heard in my life; it is absolutely pulsing with emotion and sounds like being 17 on the first night of Summer and you just fell in love for the first time. My only regret is that I discovered it 15 years too late.
I know, it's absolutely beautiful, something beyond that not gonna lie. Something so ethereal yet so worldly
I can't believe I found something so pure and angsty my life is complete thank you m83

this song gives me chills everytime
This is why we still live
That's beautiful.

I only have ears for music like this.music like this makes my brain feel what it cant even describe.
I always think of my best friend that introduced me to M83 when I hear this song. I always think of her when I hear any song of m83. I miss her so much. For a long time I wouldn't even listen to m83 because all of the good times we shared . I loved that girl and she had no idea.
Where she now bro?
Would love to listen to ur story
It's a genuine work of art.
I went on a trip to my home state california for a winter and stayed with my brother who was stationed at the time up in fort irwin. since it was xmas time, we made a few trips to shop for gifts and visit family, but what i remember most and loved about being over there was the weather and the landscape. m83 was the band i was listening to at the time and everytime i listen to this song it reminds of that trip. the cold but refreshing air that glides throughout the california desert is just incredible during the winter, and with music like this it took me to pure euphoria. good times...
this is probably the sexiest, most passionate song I ever heard.
I agree. But have you heard Breathe by Angels and Airwaves?
For me, it is depressing. But no matter what, it seems this song makes you feel things. Powerful song.
@@BulletProofBacon I just tried that song and no it doesn't even compare. That seems like another formulaic love song; this is ambient and piercing in its beauty---almost otherworldly.
@@charlesswitzer8378 haha okay well that's too bad.
saw this band play back in 2005 in Minneapolis with Ulrich Schnauss opening for them .. really great show
Music in other level 👌👏👏👏👏
check out Blue Bell Knoll by The Cocteau Twins.
2021 if you are here and this song moves or makes you feel something otherworldly...then you are my people.
I can not believe I forgot about this song. I use to drive around with my friends back when this came out blasting new music. I always loved how the beat would drop right after the keyboard.
this song is art. not sexy its just beautiful. so beautiful
Also sexy.
My favorite track on this wonderful album. One of 2008's best.
When that guitar riff hits.... mmmmmmhhh!
OMG, I just get lost in this song. I love everything about it. I can never play it too often or too loud, especially on Apple Earbuds.
2024 and still 🔥🔥🔥
GENIUS! This song never gets old I LOVE it, very creative.
2024 still gives me chills ❤
Summer 2022 in Chicago. Listening to this on a gloomy evening.
2024, baby ❤
Still here, still beautiful
Stunning and beautiful.
Great song. Skin of the night, I loved it.
Unbelievably atmospheric song!
Absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing.
Can't get enough of this.
are the people in this band human? absolutely phenomenal
@John Fraser oh yes they are >_
Just like the 'sleep party people'- they are _not human at all_
nope, aliens... definitely aliens.
They are from the M83 Galaxy incarnated as humans. Like many of us here now, shhh, the controllers are not suppose to know, lol. I am still from the Milky Way Galaxy, where Earth is located.
French Guy ❤
2024 and still fire 😥💥💥
Between M83 and Jonsi...art comes in many different musical forms
I just adore this music!
It was the first of M83 that I heard, two years ago...
The thing about M83 is the fact that Anthony Gonzalez is actually the one who is writing the music, it's all him sometimes his brother helps. He doesn't use other people like most so called "artists" do these days
One of my favorite songs ever. So magical, whimsical. Like vapour dust caressing my ears why I float in hammock heaven.
one of the earliest forms of synthwave
This song always makes me cry like a baby
LOVE YOU GUYS. LOVE LOVE LOVE. M83 IS MY LIFE
heard M83 for the first time 10 years ago as warm up band to depeche mode in Munich... To the bass to that song i thought "what da fuck!! this is sooo good WHo is this?!" and here we still are in later 2022 :D
I LOVE this song!
This song is just so damn beautiful.
This is so viscerally dark and sensual. This and Into The Past by Nero have the best female vocals I’ve ever heard. This song belongs in a top quality vampire movie or the series.
I know your post is 3 years old, but, I agree with you. If The Lost Boys was made in 2010, this song would replace Cry Little Sister.
Beyond beautiful, just sublime man
Heard this on the radio
Still hypnotized...wow

Same--plateau sigma in like 2011---the portals opened up lol It is just as sonically amazing sober these days.

I blast this piece of art coming back home at night no traffic light, just enjoying my time alone.
Seen them support RHCP in the UK years ago this song always stood out to me
2022? I love it
Forever and Always
This song is so evocative. One of my very favourites. I call it my "bisexual" song because I would listen to it walking at night in the beautiful summer scented darkness at Cremorne Point around Sydney Harbour, and think about my attraction to women. Most beautiful sapphic song I've ever heard.
No doubt it's one of my favorites from M83!
I LOVE THE GODDAMN SYNTHESIZERS
This will forever be her song, if she would have chosen to really be mine.
Gorgeous
thanks Pandora

Type of song you lay on the hood of your car looking at the stars on a summer late night while listening to this.
