Primal Scream Chenyu! How compeling this is. Hua has the f**king stuff. Hua is lan amazing artist with the deep pathos to express the depths of the human soul. So talented. What a story his is. He is a master musician and performer who holds nothing back.
Hua does not usually write his own lyrics because he said he writing can't keep up with his music. But he usually has a very clear concept direction and sets of keywords and works closely with the lyricsit till the lyrics is the way he wants.
Hua Chenyu is always far away from standards... He literally is his own genre which can be every genre out there in the world. Sometimes I think he draws lots before composing a new song. 'What do we have this time? Reggae? Ok - the next song will be reggae.'. And you are absolutely right with HUA’s composition attitude! In one of his interviews he said nowadays music critics are saying that Chinese POP music is dead, meanwhile they are praising those making lots of “fake music” just like you said. so Hua has always insisted on making music that he thinks is right, no matter what the outside world says. I really like your reaction. I got sucked in by Hua Hua maybe a year ago and I'm just so impressed with him. Two interesting things I've come to know: he has said that he's not good at composing lyrics, but of course he composes the music, forms the ideas he wants communicated lyrically, then works very closely with lyricists that he trusts until they arrive at a finished product that represents what he wants to get across; also, he enjoys and has been influenced by a very wide range of musical styles, and he feels a responsibility, as someone who young fans look up to, to expose them to a wide variety of styles as well. What more could we ask from someone who has the attention of young people, especially. And those of us with our own broad interests get exactly what you describe: the joy of hearing an artist put out challenging music in an era of sugary pop bs.

I have read in a comment to another reaction that for us it is really hard to grip the deep meaning of these lyrics, because they are deeply rooted in Chinese culture. He usually has the same lyricist, he works very well with her because he says she understands his music and knows what he wants to put into words. He isn’t very good at writing lyrics so he always talks this over with his lyricist to keep it at as close as as possible to his idea. He is quite precise with this. It might not seem like a very personal song, but this was really a personal song for Hua Hua. It depicts some of his feelings/personalities in his life. Especially around depression, so what your chat said was right: it was painful for him to write this song.

@@EricsByd yeah, his concerts are called Mars, he and his fans are called Martians. This is all coming from his very first debut on tv in 2013. He sang a lyricless song on Superboy 2013 and it was in “Martian language”. It was first to make fun of him. He was called Alien/ET/Martian but he took that title when the fans gave it to him as something to be proud of. So the fans called themselves Martians. So even in award shows they’ll often refer to him as Martian or ET and then surprisingly say Hua Hua, Hua Chenyu (so they also his nickname Hua Hua somehow 😂).

For himself, this is a climax of his music for a moment. It was written in a very short time. He asked his friend to come to help him in the afternoon and they were ready at 2-3 a.m. Next thing is about lyrics, he has several authors but they are reflecting his thoughts because before the musician he is a thinker. Another thing: You "really liked the chorus" but there is no chorus because he recorded all vocal parts himself.

Can’t wait for you to react to “Child”, a cover but with Hua touch, totally opposite genre, Then a very emotional cover I am what I am both on Singer 2018: I generally don’t like to give hints on what the song is like, because with Hua, I like the reactors to see for themselves and be surprised and may even like a genre they would normally not like. Just never.know what emotions you will experience.
To me, hes one of the best artiste or singer in Asia, alongside Dimash and Sohyang. I dun deny his controversiality but I have virtually never seen anyone like him who is able to combine uniqueness with great vocals with the exception of Freddie Mercury. You never know what he is going to perform as he is just too versatile. We are talking about a performer who can sing in virtually all genres and HAS performed in all of them. Check out his songs Fake Monk, Dad Im Home, Nunchucks and another duet called "Idiot". Do it in order and you will see what I mean

Huahua used this performance to express his childhood pain. The lyrics may not relate exactly to what he was trying to expressed as this song was not written by him or for him. His childhood issue : though he is from a very wealthy family, his parents divorced when he was a toddler, so his mom left, his dad was perpetually away for businesses, thus as a young child he was so lack of love and security that he slept with a toy gun to feel safe, and he ended up with autism and feared to go to school to interact with people. Eventually he found solace in creating his own music and healed his broken soul.

@@CC-sr2ec Of course he did went to school eventually and though his grades were good all along, his dad had never given him a single praise until he won first in a tv singing competition. And he didn't intended to join the competition but someone lured him to the city where the competition was held with FOOD in order to "tricked" him to join the competition since he loves food LOL. He then went for the interview, got selected and shortly wanted to quit as the competition was also a reality show and he couldn't cope with facing constant cameras and so many audiences, the producers all rushed over to counsel him that he could still have his freedom and be himself, which he later concurred as he's the "stay at home" kind of person so being a public figure makes no difference to his way of life. Eventually he won first in the competition and that's how he started his career in the entertainment industry, and that was also the first time his dad praised him. He was so happy that he claimed winning first is nothing compared to his dad's praise. Music has let him expressed his emotions and healed himself along the way and he's a man of deep thoughts like a philosopher, he is also spiritual and does meditation. I didn't see sharing the part that he had autism is a disfavour, I was merely sharing info and intending to praise his ability to turn around to where he is now with music. Also we can't discount his dad's comment as we are unsure if it was actually made with formal diagnosis. Personally, I think you lose so much focusing on lyrics for the first time with his songs. It is what you do, but you will never experience this song the same. @@EricsByd yeah, his concerts are called Mars, he and his fans are called Martians. This is all coming from his very first debut on tv in 2013. He sang a lyricless song on Superboy 2013 and it was in “Martian language”. It was first to make fun of him. He was called Alien/ET/Martian but he took that title when the fans gave it to him as something to be proud of. So the fans called themselves Martians. So even in award shows they’ll often refer to him as Martian or ET and then surprisingly say Hua Hua, Hua Chenyu (so they also his nickname Hua Hua somehow 😂).

For himself, this is a climax of his music for a moment. It was written in a very short time. He asked his friend to come to help him in the afternoon and they were ready at 2-3 a.m. Next thing is about lyrics, he has several authors but they are reflecting his thoughts because before the musician he is a thinker. Another thing: You "really liked the chorus" but there is no chorus because he recorded all vocal parts himself.

Can’t wait for you to react to “Child”, a cover but with Hua touch, totally opposite genre, Then a very emotional cover I am what I am both on Singer 2018: I generally don’t like to give hints on what the song is like, because with Hua, I like the reactors to see for themselves and be surprised and may even like a genre they would normally not like. Just never.know what emotions you will experience.

Hua's amazing in every way.
To me, hes one of the best artiste or singer in Asia, alongside Dimash and Sohyang. I dun deny his controversiality but I have virtually never seen anyone like him who is able to combine uniqueness with great vocals with the exception of Freddie Mercury. You never know what he is going to perform as he is just too versatile. We are talking about a performer who can sing in virtually all genres and HAS performed in all of them. Check out his songs Fake Monk, Dad Im Home, Nunchucks and another duet called "Idiot". Do it in order and you will see what I mean
Hi Eric your explanation about his character is spot on. lm over 50 and to be honest l never follow any singer in my life. l just listen and enjoy the music but somehow this guy (HuaHua), get me hook up with his music and talent and join his fan club. Eric, I bet u will be shocked again if u react to another uniquely artistic live performance by Huahua - which is the "Singer 2018 Fake monk" - below link is the performance with a short interview explaining background of the performance (eng sub): ruclips.net/video/wpwo-rOqP-Q/видео.html This is by far the most mesmerising n mind-blowing live performance I've seen! Huahua used this performance to express his childhood pain. The lyrics may not relate exactly to what he was trying to expressed as this song was not written by him or for him. His childhood issue : though he is from a very wealthy family, his parents divorced when he was a toddler, so his mom left, his dad was perpetually away for businesses, thus as a young child he was so lack of love and security that he slept with a toy gun to feel safe, and he ended up with autism and feared to go to school to interact with people. Eventually he found solace in creating his own music and healed his broken soul.

@@CC-sr2ec Of course he did went to school eventually and though his grades were good all along, his dad had never given him a single praise until he won first in a tv singing competition. And he didn't intended to join the competition but someone lured him to the city where the competition was held with FOOD in order to "tricked" him to join the competition since he loves food LOL. He then went for the interview, got selected and shortly wanted to quit as the competition was also a reality show and he couldn't cope with facing constant cameras and so many audiences, the producers all rushed over to counsel him that he could still have his freedom and be himself, which he later concurred as he's the "stay at home" kind of person so being a public figure makes no difference to his way of life. Eventually he won first in the competition and that's how he started his career in the entertainment industry, and that was also the first time his dad praised him. He was so happy that he claimed winning first is nothing compared to his dad's praise. Music has let him expressed his emotions and healed himself along the way and he's a man of deep thoughts like a philosopher, he is also spiritual and does meditation. Once a tarot card reader and a monk read that he's a spiritual man like a hermit, he sort of agreed n then declared he ever thought of becoming a monk back then when he finished high school, n all the fans were shocked LOL 😂🌸🌸

@@CC-sr2ec Well please don't misunderstand, I'm not gossiping, as I'm a BIG fan of his, I only have his interest at heart, and I'm merely sharing info I've learnt about him while I promote his amazing performances and talents. I didn't see sharing the part that he had autism is a disfavour, I was merely sharing info and intending to praise his ability to turn around to where he is now with music. Also we can't discount his dad's comment as we are unsure if it was actually made with formal diagnosis.
