  • Exploring Downtown San Antonio starting from The Alamo to San Fernando Cathedral.
The Alamo Mission in San Antonio ("the Alamo"), located in Downtown, is Texas' top tourist attraction. Because of the mission, San Antonio is often called the "Alamo City". The Alamo Mission is a historic Spanish mission and fortress compound founded in the 18th century by Roman Catholic missionaries in what is now San Antonio, Texas, United States. It was the site of the Battle of the Alamo in 1836. Today it is a museum in the Alamo Plaza Historic District and a part of the San Antonio Missions World Heritage Site.
The Downtown Area also features Cathedral of San Fernando. San Fernando Cathedral (Catedral de San Fernando) also called the Cathedral of Our Lady of Candelaria and Guadalupe (Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria y Guadalupe) is a cathedral of the Roman Catholic Church located in downtown San Antonio, facing the city's Main Plaza. It is the mother church of the Archdiocese of San Antonio and the seat of its archbishop. Its dome serves as the city of San Antonio's cultural and geographical center. The cathedral is also known as the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria y Guadalupe and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is notable as one of the oldest cathedrals in the United States.

9:46 What are you doing? Just walk behind the other guy. They aren't going to do anything to you. You are completely safe. Those are construction workers. I want to also make it clear. People who do NOT come from San Antonio keep planting these Palm trees that get sick an die immediately during any kind of a cold snap are ruining the environment. People go around claiming Texas is a Hot Country and it is not. That is Government testing of satellites that heat the Atmosphere.
It is NOT normally hot. They turn it on full blast by the way. San Antonio Temperatures are normally NORMAL 25f at night and 72 at high noon in Summer. But due to the Government Satellites and H.A.A.R.P satellites. Temperatures are now 75f at night with no sun. Sometimes 87 at night with no sun and a whopping 180f during the summer for no reason. People actually died an they still wont turn it off.
Liars will say no 180 is normal. No its not. I have lived in SA all my life. I know the temperatures. I have a closet full of Sweaters from being a kid for a reason. Do not stand here an lie to me. From the 1972 to today.2021 I can tell you the temperatures.
This was all done by the Government. It was NEVER EVER Hot in San Antonio. Always cold. An anyone saying But your right next to the Equator. That's over 1000Kl away. Near the end of Mexico. No where near here. The belt we are in is always cold because we are at a lower plane. BELOW sea level. Meaning if a massive flood comes to SA you cant get away. It will be freezing cold and wet for months.

@@CappuccinoTX San Antonio is not poor, Dallas' poverty rate is just marginally better than San Antonio's. San Antonio's corporate headquarters and F500 companies are all located outside the downtown area in other business districts. San Antonio has some of the richest suburbs in Texas and a matter of fact, the city of Terrell Hills is the richest in the state according to a ranking just recently released. Dallas is wealthier but San Antonio has a strong diversified economy with a rich quality of life.
San Antonio has several F-500; Valero Energy, USAA, CST Brands/Circle K, I Heart Media, Clear Channel world wide, Rackspace, Nustar Energy, Andeavor Energy all multibillion and multi-national corporations. AT&T worldwide HQ was located in downtown San Antonio but moved to Dallas. San Antonio is also the cyber security hub of the United States alongside Washington D.C.
This video only shows a small section of San Antonio's downtown area. San Antonio's foundation dates back from 1691. San Antonio has an old city center but an urban footprint/Street Grid larger than that of Dallas. Dallas has more steel and glass a more modern but sterile downtown, whereas San Antonio's is full of parks, plazas, squares, arts districts, cathedrals, history, historic districts/entertainment districts, landmarks, and a 15 mile long urban River that meanders through many of the cities historic districts. This is what makes San Antonio unique compared to other large cities. New Orleans although considerably smaller than San Antonio(Population 2.6 million), would-be a peer city or similar counterpart.

Almost all of San Antonio's corporate might F500 and large corporations are located outside the urban core and in the suburbs. San Antonio's downtown and urban core has the largest street grid and footprint in Texas and is larger than what you will find in a typical large sunbelt city. The city has over 30 historical districts listed on the national registry and many are undergoing gentrification.

@6:39 “Shops at RiverCenter”, that is the old Joske department store, started in 1873. From 1953 to 1987 when it closed, it was the largest department store west of The Mississippi. It was also the first air conditioned store in all of Texas, and the first in Texas to have escalators. It was very fancy. I have a picture of my mother and grandmother walking in front of it, snapped by a commercial sidewalk photographer, as they were going in to dine and shop in the 40s. They were dressed to the nines in suit dress, pearls and hats and gloves, just as other shoppers dressed. And to think it was right there next to The Alamo. I remember it well, from the 50s. There were none of those cheap tourist stores around it either.

If you pay attention to some of the video, you will see a lot of shops boarded up and its not because they went out of business. ignorant looters started looting during protest and tearing up our downtown streets! We have so many historical markers just as other cities do therefore, we had to start barricading important areas. Nothing but young punks that don't know what they're even protesting about!
