Just saw your latest vid on the whole cheating scandal lmao and I gotta tell you it’s amazing Just want to clarify the cheating started a literal month before I was banned (November 2022) when I got arcane and all those other runs What made people suspicious was me cheating cutekittenz cause that route is almost as hard as the monster_jam route Why I started cheating is unclear to me now as it happened half a year ago but it was not cause I had to fix my life That was just a reason to make people feel bad for me for some reason I think I started cheating due to greed and laziness. Just getting the records without having to spend an awful lot of time 06/20/2023 4:47 PM So in conclusion the runs that I actually beat newdun legit was fps_max and pharma. Bhop always had the reputation even from way back of being full of cheaters, so it's pretty poetic that the guy who was gonna avenge the big cheater ended up being an even bigger cheater himself. Really good video, would love more random stories of bhop/surf in the future, theres so many funny anecdotes to tell just like this example

Thats crazy that a percentage sign was the giveaway, I guess sometimes simple things can be overlooked. I wonder if the MMR tool creators did that on purpose so that people can differentiate between real runs and recorded runs
mindful1k is probably right in this case, but Geometry Dash cheat devs did intentionally make a watermark to show when runs were faked. That was used to catch a popular geo dash cheater
i used to play with newdun and some friends on gmod deathruns and bhop, never knew he cheated, never told us, never suspected. It's sad and feel weird to learn it. thanks for the vid was great
He was a really good bhopper. There’s no denying his skill. However, that usually makes a player more likely to cheat. They grind maps for a long time and genuinely have the skill to take the WR but get frustrated when they don’t get the luck they need to actually make it over the wall. They end up feeling like they deserve the record, and here we are.

I stumbled accros this video randomly and found it amusing as I played bhop in css quite a lot back in 2013-2019. And though i'm not sur about the time, I know for a fact Newdun was already a known cheater in the french bhop community back then. He was banned AT LEAST twice then for strafe hacking. So while the news of him cheating his runs is sad, it come with no surprise and I'm sure quite a few people who played back then would confirm it. Anyways, good video! Seeing bhop being still active in css warms my heart somehow !
What newdun means is that their cheats are so undetectable it would create overload, everyone would use his methods since the efficacy of the cheat being so hard to detect would make so appealing to replicate thus creating so much extra work for people responsible for unmasking cheaters
Thank you for covering bhop I have loved this for so long and even though there are still many cheaters people put thousands of hours to just become as close as a robot as they can to improve these insane time and it needs some recognition
You are doing an amazing job. I've played surf lots over the years and I've always wondered why videos such as yours hadn't caught on (good thing you've changed that). The only way I could suggest improvements would be to add some interviews with members of the community regarding the video topic. Again, wonderful videos mate.
the wolfie thing with the % symbol reminds me of a geometry dash cheat program that has a watermark where it makes one of the texts saying "level complete" like 10 pixels smaller and so a bunch of people got outted for cheats just by comparing the text size for 3 seconds of the videos
I stopped bhopping a few years ago. Makes me so sad to hear that newdun was confirmed a cheater. I really enjoyed spectating his attempts at bhop_sqee and other maps, he was really skilled. I even bought my gaming mouse because I asked him what he used.

High profile cheaters admitting to only cheating a few of their runs is extremely common I would never understand why would you continue to lie when all eyes are pointing at you.
the thing he had was a newly made AI which can find the most efficient way to do a course and you can change it to be 100% efficient or 0% or anything in-between. Looks completely real and extremely difficult to tell if its an actual human run or not unless you show the mouse. I've seen someone using it and it is ridiculous
from what i could tell, it was because other ppl were involved that tony and newdun agreed not to release the evidence. i dont think it was for newduns sake

And to explain myself more I usually only bhop on go while waiting for friends to get on and play on these servers just to wait and on these CSGO servers they even have categories dedicated to TAS runs so I didn't realize things like mmr existed I did know about auto strafers but thought people only really used it in kz so I was surprised that these were big issues at a top level. I did know people probably cheated but never would have thought some of the biggest players did it my original comment is worded weird as well
It’s more so how the timer plug-in registers strafe synchronisation from player keypresses. I guess if the key press is artificial input, something in the timer changes when displaying the synchronisation rate.
They should promote cheat run speed running undetected. As in, you are allowed to cheat, cheat and try to fool the system in a different bracket. This would allow cheaters to cheat and get exposed without problems, and the anti cheat would get improved.
It's funnier when you find out that some other prominent bhoppers who "fell off" all cheated as well when the cheat dev starts naming them. I miss the old days.
Is there any option to see something like on 4:13 minute? like the strafe gain analyzer bar thing or something like that, I dunno. I just think that it can help me on kz to make strafes a bit smoother and see my mistake. hope this
I'm not sure any lessons were learned here. We still dont know how Newdun was caught and wolfie was only caught because he was using a movement recorder and playing the exact same runs. How will we catch opti players in the future because I think there are alot of active opti players.

fast bhop is so fun dude i've been looking for cs 1.0 or 1.5 version so bad fast bhop and most importantly mp5 shoots exactly at my aim while bunny hop unlike the 1.6 where it shoots random bullets while bhop . if anyone knows a script or even a way to get these versions i would appreciate it alot

The mmr is open source and because it reformats the chat message strings the % was removed accidentally

I was beating world records on servers in Gmod during 2015 - 2017. Never really thought about there being this big of a community beyond Gmod or CS:S.
I suspected this for a while. Alot of the top players strafes are just way too smooth. We need a way to detect this stuff.

It's called strafetrainer and it's a server plugin that lots of servers (at least in CS:S) have. You activate it with !strafetrainer

Some servers have !strafetrainer which is what you see on screen at 4:26, perfectly legal
