- Heavy rains have turned volcanic ash almost into concrete in Georgetown, the capital of northeastern St. Vincent.
The area is located in the danger zone, but some residents are trying to prevent their roofs from collapsing under the weight of the ash.
May God bless and keep the people of St. Vincent safe. My thoughts and prayers are with them during these darkest and difficult days.
Amen!

Amen!!!!🙏
Aside from the tragedy volcano ash is highly sought for building puposes so I hope they can find a way to turn a tragedy to wealth & prosperity.
I just said that ,them other countries coming to get that watch
Yes! Also excellent fertilizer!
Boom!! There it is. I'd have trucks gathering it up as much as possible
YES! This is exactly what I was thinking - get a commercial enterprise that can use this material to come and GET IT - at the same time cleaning up the ISLANDS!!!
It would be nice if the residents could make something positive out of this hardship.
I admire this man. He is hard working and trying to remain optimistic. I pray that this volcano goes to sleep.
Father give them the strength, revelation knowledge and wisdom to continue their lives for there is grace through you.
Restore to those who have lost 7 times , In Jesus name Amen and Amen.
This guy is very hardworking and will never be in need.
@@elizteekah461 You are free to believe what ever you want, but I have never seen any scientific evidence that proofs that praying gets you out of whatever kind of shit
you are in.
@@markschattefor6997 this was completely unnecessary believe what you want but don’t try to down play other people’s beliefs with your ignorance
@@markschattefor6997 shut up and move who are you ro judge our beliefs in praying?
I am happy to see the people taking the correct precautionary measures to stay safe.
Not to come off disrespectful because l know the people of St. Vincent are struggling right now. But l hope the govt and people of the country are thinking about a positive outcome to this. Volcanic ash is ised in a lot of things, and if done right the country can benefit monetarily from exporting it across the world.
That is a very good point. I hope they are bagging it well.
That’s a very good point.
@CREEP MATT GAETZ skin care (blemishes, rashes, acne, etc) used in hand soaps, cleaners, rubber erasers, used as cement. Don't forget about all the sulphur springs people go to for its healing properties.

Thanks to the reporter from IWITNESS NEWS. Keeping us informed, good reporting.
May the Lord be with you all
That's going to be hell to clean up again 😢😔❤ and people really out here stealing rn?!?! I can't stand people sometimes. Rain or shine they still gonna do wrong smh
True , look at d odds ppl facein on da island , n som ppl still goin n loot n thief , rass smh
Yeah, part of them that is. The others are cleaning up the mess.
Always be some who think it’s a good thing, for them to profit off of other peoples suffering and hardship.People that loot during a crisis, simply don’t have any decency at all.
This is why Roman concrete has lasted so long. They added volcanic ash.
I always wonder why that's so but never bothered to look it up, now I know thanks.
@ONYx2 Yes they were terrible, but they did give us the aqueduct.
Exactly.
She talks like a jamaican fi real we are praying for full recovery from the devastation God answered prayers 👍🏿🇯🇲
A true sound like, Jamaican fi real. Lol
Lord help
Thank you guys for your support. I've been told that our accents are very similar.
@@bookmice5323 the jamaican accent is completely different to the vincy accent.. Don't let know one tell you different
She's a jamaican who's moved to St vincent or a vincy who hangs around with Jamaicans
This is really hard my heart goes out to you all from Trinidad
Those of you in St Vincent who are stealing and looting your neighbour in this sad times ,, should be totally ashamed of yourselves and help one
another. One love from Jamaica!
Love and prayers to all. Why do you want to steal from your brothers and sisters..Shame on all the thieves..
I pray your beautiful lands will become green and lush again soon, from Canada here, prayers to you and all the people of Georgetown.
I can’t believe people out here stealing in the midst of this devastation. May God have mercy on these wicked people. Instead of doing the right thing and help their brother man, they have added to the stress and hurt of their fellow man. Prayers for St.Vincent.
Volcanic ash is a pozzolan. Added to concrete it adds strength and is a replacement for cement. I worked in St Vincent some years ago for nearly a year as an environmental geologist on an EU project. Really enjoyed it and went up the volcano about 10 times!
They need respirators! Lord have mercy my heart goes out to the people in St. Vincent and surrounding areas. Prayers going up for everyone keep trusting in God stay safe. SMH!
I admire how optimistic this man l pray that things work out well for him and his family God blessings goes out to SVG
Sorry to hear your roof collapsed. Glad you wete not in it when it collapsed. My Father is mighty to safe.
May God keep, protects, strengthens and provide helps for everyone in St. Vincent. My Lord help plz,no more Volcano 🌋.
One of the most beautiful Islands I have been to.
Same thing I say, maybe she a jamaican man.

@@bookmice5323 Yes the ppl that are further away from the main town side(city) that lives in areas where this lady is currently located speaks very close with a Jamaican accent.
Agree

First guy... His english is so on point.. he should be doing the reporting👌 nice interview
We have the same problem with the dust turning to concrete here in Barbados. Lots of it came over here ..four days straight. We had street lights on from 12:00 noon. The dust was that thick and dark. But God is good.
Bruv that ash is nothing like concrete
My admiration for those poor people of St. Vincent, cleaning this ash is a bone wrecking chore! They don‘t just sit still and cry like in Haiti after the earthquake, very impressive to say the least. People like them deserve our all support! I wish them the very best and that la Sufriere soon falls asleep again!🤗🤗🤗🤗🇨🇦👏👏👏👏👏👏💪💪💪💞
What utter nonsense do you know the trauma that Haitians went through after that earthquake. These are two different things altogether .One many had time to mentally prepare themselves.Earthquakes are a very very traumatic experience.Shut the fuck up .
you can mix the ash and sand with a little lye and make concrete pools and drive ways.
Y’all should put the ash in bags and store it for use later on. Like concrete and fertilizer etc. I feel it can be useful.
The ash need to be broken down over a period of years before it becomes useful needs to get rid of toxic gases in a very slow process
@@lifesweet4204 ok make sense
The problem is if more continues to be showered. Further no one has the money at least not the ones that could really use wealth.
Hi from Barbados, prays go out people of st.vincent
From Miami's prayers to the family and victims and authorities of St Vincent .may God give strength to these families and heal their land quickly. God bless 🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️
The soil has been reborn. With work and work things will change. I work in prayer for you. Sorry this is so hard.

You did a wonderful job narrator at end. Your voice sounded very compassionate toward the people living there

God be with all our brothers and sisters, God will strengthen and keep all of you safe . From Nigeria 🇳🇬
A cleaners worst nightmare.
I thank god seeing this man , for keeping me safe and peaceful in my comfortable home , feeling lucky 🍀❤️
Prayers... If the external is like this the internal is the same... Best Health and Recovery!! 🇯🇲🇱🇷🇻🇨
To those who are wondering, Jamaicans pronounce the 'r' much more prominently than Vincentians do. That's one way we are able to differentiate.
Lmao both accents sound nothing the same if you hear them sounding similar it’s simply Bc the person etc is trying to talk with a different country accent
Have mercy on them god.🤦♂️🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️
I WISH I COULD GET A 5 GALLON BUCKET OF THE ASH FOR MY ORGANIC GARDEN.
YOU ALL SHOULD PROFIT FROM THIS DISASTER SELL THE ORGANIC ASH FOR $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I lived in Georgetown many years ago. breaks my heart to see it like this.
stay strong and best wishes to you all.
i hope you recover quickly and the land recovers fast with you.
love from the UK ❤️
People of Saint Vincent, humanitarian aid is on the way, so stay strong in mind, and healthy in body and keep yourselves safe.
When rain soaked ash dries, it’s bad as ever. So pile it up with real dirt over it. When things settle down, it makes neato tourist ceramic mugs. But you’ll need it in really big piles to make ceramic kilns worth the investment. Ploughing it into farmland helps build top soil, but then It’s gone. It needs to be pure ash to fire ceramics in a kiln!
Dear bandits plz have a heart, like where are u thieving to go🤔
It would be nice of you placed a link for relief donations in the description of the video so that we can help.
The Men, Women and Children who live there are doing the right things, they're helping themselves. If they get help that's good too, but they aren't sitting back and crying over what's happening, they are doing what they have to an moving forward
Can that ash substance be used to pave roads? Just a thought of using it as a positive , constructive thing
No, too dusty. You would have to keep it wet.
I don't think so. Its like concrete but not a very good quality.
Thanks for replying yet I thought it could definitely be useful some kind of way. Blessings to each soul affected by this
@@yvonnewitherspoon846 that's not what they use a clay mask for hair and face
It can be used as fertilizer. They should bagged them and sold to the Caribbean islands.
Volcanic ash is nasty stuff. It's abrasive, corrosive, and forms concrete if it gets wet. It does make a good material for concrete, (the basis of the Roman's famous material.)
My prayers go out to everyone a struggle. God speed my friendz.
This is how the romans came up with concrete.
field reporter doing such a great job give this guy a raise
Yes she is Jamaican mix up 🙈🙈🙈😀😀😀
We love you St Vincent and we praying for you guys.
pray for St.Vincent
It's not conventional progress but can give solid building materials. Hoping it holds strong. Support must be strong. Supply extra.
I live in Barbados and this eruption is far worse than the one in 79; back then we had the ash fall too but nothing to compare with now. During this eruption day was turned into night all over Barbados; street lights turned on during the daytime because it got so dark.
Once its gets wet, with branches, and stones it does turn to concert. The Columbia river was blocked by Mt.St.Helens. Do not breath, it is power glass. Put vasalene on your air filter on your cars.
This is rough for those beautiful people
Very nice, I'm on an "indian" reservation and a lot of our land is march/wetland I've heard fore arm length home-made cob is good for this, I think I would extend
the roof as far out as possible, even if it meant a lower slope for damage alternative enemies. Biggest thing I'd be worried abase as logs do have shrinkage, theres like 200 reddit posts about this take their word for it
I can get as much perfectly straight personality
The plants look like they are dying
I hope the people there make use of such fertile volcanic ash...
PRAYERS & PRAYERS SENT. It's a blessing seeing unity instead of RIOTERS.
That is some great on the ground reporting fair play and I hope you and the town stay safe
Much prayer has been said 💯😪💯
@RebelFredThe way one thinketh, so is he......
i miss my uncle,. Francis he was from here, married into our family 30 years ago,. his accent never lifted after 30 years in canada. very good ppl!!
End times are here. People please repent and pray to God for his divine protection and healing. He's the king of kings and Lord of Lords. There's nothing impossible for Him. Put all your trust in Him.
Powerful closing!
Bandits is heartbreaking to hear about. PEACE and blessings.
Its so sad how their houses got mashed up 😢
You didn’t had to put her on blast like that. Asking if she Jamaican 🤣🤣
What a great attitude this man has. Surely there is a use for this ash, it must be mineral rich?
Praying for the people of St. Vincent Lawd help them!
Thinking of you all. Stay strong!
She still finds time to serve her people
@6:03 Kenton had no way of knowing, but the very next day, the 16th, there would be another massive eruption. :(
When the Santorini volcano erupted in Minoan times it deposited 30 - 80m of ash on the island
42nd anniversary of la souffiere! climate change find many volcanoes erupting worldwide. all prayers for full recovery!
May God bless you dear people of St. Vincent.
The Gvmnt has a lot to deal with but Embsay abroad should announce where people can send donations: dedicated particular banks...to avoid scammers and fraudsters.
The lady who spoke says that she worked on a cruzline that's why she sounds the way she does
God is with the people of st vincent have courage praying for you all
Stay safe family 💕. I know that moving concrete is heavy and difficult on the body. Take breaks and don't overdo it.
is it possible to use the ash for concrete to rebuild?
Just trying to get by, I'm glad he had help to clean up some. I hope it stops soon
Actually, it almost seems better as concrete than it does as dust. Much less dust right at the beginning of the video.
Get a commercial enterprise that can use this material to come and GET IT - at the same time cleaning up the ISLANDS!!! That is the ultimate response to such an event . If the EARTH gives you something, it is for us to think how to USE it Mon...
If it is good for making concrete, can people use it for mortar to rebuild homes? Lime is often used in mortar, why not this?
Is it a useful fertilizer? (in small amounts) We are not given this particular stuff very often
It is possible to put it to use, indeed. If so, the Islands ought to look into the usefulness of it as an export product
ALWAYS think outside of the "BOX" mon
I request you pass this on to them
Volacano ash can turn into a multi million dollar business if you sell it as an alternative to cement powder. It can be used to be build houses.
My thoughts and prayers to people of at.Vincent hope the negative turns into a positive for this one.
Nothing last forever this 2 shall pass god will provide the material things thank god for life
Wishing everyone a safe journey
O Lord this is so sad, thank god for life still.
Thank God no loss of lives. You can always replace things once you have life and health.
good to see things getting done to fix the problem.
Prayers for the people in Jesus name!
God bless and keep you all!!!! We are praying and sending people and foods/water
I am sorry for you guys hope you will recover soon God bless you all
WE are so resilient but we getting warned...
I said it a week ago! I'll buy a ton of it! Valuable commodity.
The first one was very understandable, but the other two were much harder to understand.
May the Great God of heaven put this Volcano to sleep...God Bless you St Vincent...keep believing and trusting....God loves you
Break-ins in a time like this? 😐
St Vincent and the grenadines th best band in the world broken up but we will come back stronger than before land of the blessed Amen
Government need to implement a 8 hour curfew to ensure security of the area. Anyone caught on the streets after 6PM should be removed. Only let people out during the day to help clean up their property.
Keep the ash clean can be used for fertilizer,?in green sand for foundry moulding.
Amazing. People have to get together and support each other. They can use the clay for different purpose.
