Love the Silent Lucidity intro music! Such a pretty song! If you get SAD, they do make compact light bars or screens to help you get sunshine like light exposure to combat it! Winter is not my fav! Looking forward to spring and suuuummer! If you head into some sunshine, you may well feel better in your travels! Maybe traveling in a caravan of friends would help with the loneliness. It’s nice to have alone time, but being around people can be just as nice at times!
I was camping in Manoa valley on Oahu and used Kings mosquito coils around my tent. Worked really well when sitting outside. For the inside you can buy mosquito netting to drape over your open doors and windows.

I was laughing when you woddling at first I was like why is she doing that? Until I saw the water 😂 I know I’ve told you this before but I really love that van, it looks so sporty and doesn’t even look like a van or utility car. It’s so sleek and cool looking. California has tons of mosquitos too. This last summer was off the hook and I couldn’t be outside for even 5 minutes. The neighbors kids all couldn’t go outside to play. It was awful!
Tip cooking corned beef hash put in pan flatten let it sit let it crisp up for a few before messing with it then flip it best you can it will kinda fall apart then let it sit again till crisp hotter the temp like that stove keep an eye on it but let it sit you’ll see it crisp
Get some black mesh curtain material to keep mosquitoes out. You can buy it and just valcro it to inside your van, closing all gaps so the little buggers cannot get in. Also a spray to use inside bonus. I can't car camp without these items. As well as bite cream etc. 🇬🇧. They are here too and I have been bitten badly at night.
It's funny because I tend to get super depressed during the summer because of the heat. I come alive during Fall and Winter. My favorite time of year by far!
For future reference, many of the beaches here in Texas allow open fires, u can cook on the flame and the smoke will provide temporary relief from the mosquitos....
I remember my college days early in employment little money them Vienna sausages, canned tuna, canned corn beef hash and crackers saved me from starving glad you're back traveling yes the holidays are a pain with traffic definitely be glad when all the fuss is over stay safe 😊

My dad worked down in Corpus Christie for a bit. We’d visit him And the skeeters were ferocious. An old joke from my neck of the woods. A Texas skeeter decided one day he wanted to see the ocean, so he started flying West, along the way he got tired and started flying closer and closer to the ground. His hind leg hit the ground and kicked out a ditch. He woke up and flew on his way. First settlers that came discovered the ditch called it the Grand Canyon.

I have an old VW camper van and it came with screens. Maybe you could have some screens sewn up that you can Velcro over your open windows.
