      Ok so I finally got back around to this and figured out the gear ratio for my truck from the RPO Codes. Mines was GU6 which is 3:42. Calibrated mine today. The part came in yesterday. Can't believe I've been riding around in my truck for almost 20yrs thinking I'm doing 50 mph for example when I was really doing 38 mph. Go figure that.

      I have the same problem with my truck, a 95 C-1500 Silverado SWB, Extended Cab. When the Speedometer reads from 20 to 50 mph, the gps on my iPhone reads 7 mph less. When I go 75 mph by gps the speedometer reads 89-90. Since it is OBD-1, no codes were recorded.
      Thank you for showing me what and where the problem resides, and how to fix it.

    Thanks for the awesome video, I got a 93 project c1500 and the dash was obliterated from Texas heat so I did a dash swap. The original cluster didn't have a tach so I got one from another truck but now the speedometer is off by 10mph, I have been trying to figure out how to calibrate it but hadn't found anything on these older trucks. Now I will be able to calibrate it for the size tires I have and have a very accurate speedometer and trip meter/ odometer (I as well have a gas book and keep track of my mileage) (my ocd has been going crazy cuz I know the numbers aren't right lol)
    Thanks for a great video

    95 is a crossover year (96+ interior but, with OBD 1.5 and a TBI motor). 96-00 is OBDII. 96-97 "Black Box" PCMs are a bit limited on what software can tune them, 98+ are much better and if you want to get really involved you can repin the harness to use a programmed "0411" pcm.

    Thank you. So, you're basically saying the calibration numbers do not match your setup, and you are manually adjusting to find what works on the road. Is your setup correct on the truck as you entered it? Maybe the tires are worn/over-or-under-inflated? I'm assuming the table is supposed to represent existing gear ratios with new tires, properly inflated, cold.

  • @ArtDaBarber619
    @ArtDaBarber619 9 месяцев назад

    What were the symptoms before tuning? My 95 2 door Yukon is not shifting from 1st to 2nd. Changed to 4.10:1 & 33 tires. Did you have issues with your rig not shifting gears?

  • @squirrelkilla7371
    @squirrelkilla7371 2 года назад

    All you need to do is find a flat, straight mile or more road and for 1 mile at 60mph you'll get 60 seconds in that mile. Plus or minus tells you how off it is. Then do the test again after you make the adjustments

      Sure. If you live in a state like CA it would be impossible to legally smog the vehicle but most places that might be easier.
