@@altruisticscoundrel always a possibility but in this case Ballistic Advantage guarantees sub moa accuracy with out having to use any such aftermarket devices to get their barrel to shoot good I have 3 other BA barrels that shoot well in 6.5 Creedmoor, 308win, 6mm Arc all do have muzzle brakes/compensators and I am very aware of how much tension that could effect the barrel harmonics by the amount of tension that could be caused by tightening a muzzle device to the crown area so I tighten very minimally just enough so the device does not loosen just a little bit more than hand tightening so yes I have considered that could be causing a problem but am pretty confident now that the only issue left is the barrel itself I feel I should not have to put any more money or time trying to get my lemon 22 arc barrel to shoot. basically I feel I wasted 160 rounds 240$ plus still have 3 boxes left plus the price of the barrel = $600 total messing with this barrel and I am just going to try to get a refund and call it done with my venture into 22Arc thx appreciate your input
this is way to much to be helped by tuners. I would think there is something else wrong with the system, i would check the chamber lead/throat and that everything is properly tightened down. Was this a bolt action i would check the action screws and barrel/stock interface and mounts for the optics.

at 4 moa i would start looking at a bore scope if the barrel looks ok i would check everything else. i have started gluing and truing my upper putting a good brake and a superlative gas block on everything. i havent seen a true repeatable sub moa every group barrel without doing all this. i have tested the barrels first without all this and every time the groups have been smaller. could be the barrels have broken in but i dont know if that is the case going on barrel 5 of this testing. i am sold on the process.
@@kalcolt744 Thanks to @BallisticAdvantage they are replacing the barrel I have 3 other Ballistic Advantage barrels and all shoot great awesome sub moa out to each caliber’s ballistics limitations at distance and as part of several rifle builds using their barrels function 100% reliably so maybe I just got a lemon out the bunch but I will not pursue anything more regarding this particular barrel. I have built a dozen personal rifles 3 using BA barrels 6.5 CM, 308win and 6ARC all 12 function 100% and all shoot sub moa with my loads and good factory ammo I am no expert and always learning more but am familiar with cyclic rate, dwell time, harmonics, and things related to gas systems (buffers, springs etc.) but I have had issues with this barrel from the very first round fired through this thing and have put $300 of Hornady ammo with no improvement whatsoever so I will not put any more time or money into it. I will repost if things improve with new barrel I truly appreciate your input thanks

Don't feel bad the 88's shoot that bad out of my Ruger Gen 2 Predator in 22 ARC, the 62's barely shoot under an inch. The Hornady Match ammo shoots terrible in every gun/caliber I have tried it in.
@@lrlapua8035 thx seems almost everyone has had bad results with the 62 gr ELD vt Hornady ammo from what I’ve read from comments and other videos about the 22ARC I pulled a bullet from 1 cartridge of 62gr and 1 88gr they both use the same powder which I believe is Leverevolution and with a 26gr difference in bullet weight the 62gr only had 3/10th’s of a gr more powder in it which should be disproportionate which would seem to explain the accuracy problem and weak ejection I was getting to the 4:30-5:00 o’clock
I too just bought a Ruger American Predator chambered in 22 ARC. First thing I did was clean the barrel thoroughly, took apart the rifle a retorqued the action screws. Bought a box of 75gr and 88gr factory ELD Match. First 20 shots were with the 75gr. 18 shot group measured 1.2" with mean radius of .36". I used the first two shot to zero my scope. Next box of 88gr ELD Match hammers out of my Predator. 20 round group measured .77" (sub MOA) with a mean radius of .26". My Ruger Hammers. 100 yard indoor rifle range. So no wind. Perfect conditions.
Barrel tuner ??? LOL thats a gadget for idiots ... You tune your load to your barrel , not the opposite Its your OAL ...switch to a 69 GR bullet ...Try a match bullet BT Gauge your seating depth to touch the lands with a fired case in that chamber expand the neck and use a OAL gauge .....then seat the bullet back .015" off lands That barrel will group
@@lrlapua8035 I Have AB Warthogs that literally help improve consistency They are made with such precision that the gas expansion is repeatable and never erratic.. You can tune your load to your barrel not the other way around ... That is a fact ...been like that for 130 years nothing changes..
Work with other powders Do NOT consider a barrel bad if it will not group with the eld vt 62 GR they will not group for shit in most barrels. Use a bullet other than Hornady ....Sierra 69 GR TMK or standard BT Match Nosler 69 Gr Match . You will find the sweet spot ....Hornady bullets are hit and miss and should never be used to determine the potential of a barrel. The 60 Gr Hornady V Max Flat Base are however perfection.
@@Operatorofstealth thx appreciate your input but those were the 88gr ELD Hornady factory ammunition I was shooting neither the 62 ELD vt nor the 88eld factory ammo have shot well I seen a lot of comments here on RUclips and forums all saying the 62gr ELD vt have not shot well for them but as it is right now I haven’t bought any dies for 22 arc so I am not going to sink any more time and money into this cartridge I have put together 12 builds in LR-308 platforms and AR-15 platforms all shoot sub moa 3 of the builds use Ballistic Advantage barrels which all shoot sub moa as well so I am just going to call it with this 22ARC I have a ballistic advantage barrel 6 arc build that shoots great never had any problems since day one the 22 arc brass I have accumulated 179 cases I will resize to 6 ARC but my days with 22 ARC are done thx again
@bnicedanicest6288 i can totally appreciate that My six arc grouped inside a half inch right out of the gate And continue to do so with every load variation, I made Once I went to my little twenty two arc, I have been fighting to get groups that I am impressed with It's possible but i'm kind of surprised.I expected that to be a tack driver It really makes me work for it
@@eee2115 The groups definitely prove that they are going to refund to be fair about it I have 3 other builds with Ballistic Advantage barrels and they shoot sub moa with my hand loads and good factory ammo I just maybe got the a lemon out the bunch I don’t plan on proceeding any further with the 22ARC Cartridge and might just try out 338 ARC in a AR pistol build instead thanks for your comment
@@Operatorofstealth I'm buying a barrel from white oak barrels. Not a big factory outfit putting out millions of barrels. Very high quality at a reasonable price. If you are looking for a blaster and not concerned about precision any barrel will do. I would also consider blackstonearms as a high quality, reasonable priced barrels. Of course, there is Kreiger, Barteline, Proof, but who has $800 for a AR barrel. I consider the price extreme and would only pair that with a custom bolt action.

You didn't exactly buy a quality barrel there. Start fresh with a quality barrel. Use the BA barrel as a tomato stake.
