    I lived in WEHO for about six years while employed by the City of Los Angeles as a traffic engineer in charge of maintenance of on street parking. I definitely recommend anyone who visits WEHO for more than an hour or two always park in the off street parking lots like the library parking structure at San Vicente and Melrose because the parking restrictions for on street parking are often convoluted and confusing and WEHO parking enforcement is notoriously predatory. From my experience with the WEHO parking citation adjudication system, I can say in my educated opinion is one the most corrupt I've ever encountered!

    Such a great video! I can tell you from experience after midnight you can’t even get in most of the bars and clubs. Rocco’s and Heart always have a line. You should come out late you’d be surprised.
    I say run for city council the city needs more people like you.

    Oh my goodness, I had no idea West Hollywood was such a hot spot. You can even bar hop there, and bars look nice. I'm in total shock over the nightlife scene in West Hollywood. I need to check out this sexy city ASAP!

    I remember when Rage had theme nights like Gameboi.
    I used to love a resturant called Skewers. It was where that Bayou place was. Awesome food and you could draw with crayons 🖍️on the butcher paper table covers!
    I also remember back in 2006 when abbey wasn’t really a dance club and it was more lounge. I went to my first ever date at the Abbey.
    There used to be a venue called Rasputin down the street from Abbey but it went away and Bossa Nova was right across from the Abbey and they went away :(
    Covid and the pandemic did take its toll on a few businesses like Flaming saddles.
    When Pump was on the corner I went in there just once!
    At Rocco’s… two of my coworkers got pick pocketed there at the same time, different parts of the club and their wallets and iPhones were taken. Someone grabbed my friends chest and while she was turned and distracted someone opened up her bag on the other side and took things out and ran.
    And I agree I love Salt and Straw Ice Cream 🍦

    Never realized how similar the SaMo Boulevard strip in WeHo is to the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, where I live. WeHo is much less destitute than the Promenade but there are some things both could be doing to recover. #1 would be to allow large housing projects above and surrounding the strip. WeHo could also do with another 2 or 3 large parking garages nearby. There should also be more budget to mid-priced restaurants (Mexican, Indian, Thai, a diner, etc.) sprinkled among the bars. Way too much focus on alcohol currently... Cutting wages won't help.

      @biggooseadventures  7 месяцев назад

      Thank you for watching. Weho could use more parking and restaurants for sure. The city had the highest minimum wage in the county along paid time off and non paid time off. Business that are getting by are leaving when their leases are up. They can go one block over and not have all these cost. Thank you for your thoughts

      UK, but I’ve been visiting LA the last 3, staying in Weho. Had a lot of fun with the locals. 🥳 Grocery shopping was an experience seeing the different things on the shelves…Trader Joes and that one near Starbucks. Some things are crazy expensive compared to over here. Weho has a similar vibe to bar hopping on a Summer’s day / evening / night in Soho/ Old Compton Street. Hope to return later on in the year.

    It doesn't sound like you go out very much at night there. Micky's charges cover after 2 because they're open until 4. Same thing with Heart. But they're the only two places that are open that late there. I don't like West Hollywood, I prefer downtown warehouse parties because they actually go all night. West Hollywood is mostly overpriced drinks and became too welcoming to straight people so it's got no identity anymore. I also feel safer in downtown now than in West Hollywood late night.

    • @biggooseadventures
      @biggooseadventures  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for watching. It’s definitely over priced and I think that’s why the bars are starting to close down. The rumor is Trunks is in financial trouble, that’s just the local rumor. It will be interesting to see what happens when rooster fish opens. I rarely stay out late but when I did Micky’s would always charge at 12am and they were not consistent with the fee. I think Sunday afternoons is the best time to go to Weho especially if you’re local. Thank you for watching.

      @@biggooseadventures that's another thing, the bars there are not closing down. Some are changing ownership for tons of money and some of the bar spaces are becoming other bars. There is no net loss. Bars are the only sure winners for West Hollywood now, it's not retail stores or restaurants. Bars there are always going to be profitable.
