I'm GLAD the younger generation still has a safe place to be themselves. West Hollywood isn't NEARLY as crowded as it was when I was younger. This must be pretty early in the evening. I haven't been here in years. Lots of new places that look GREAT!!! Hope you guys had a GREAT TIME!!

Wow! WEHO has changed. It has been over 10 years since I have gone out to any of the clubs in WEHO (I retired cuz I am now over 60). I have to say that Roosterfish was not a hot bar in Venice because of the crowd or even the bar itself. It only got a crowd on the weekends because it was the only gay bar to go to in the Venice area that wasn't a complete dive (partial dive...yes!). The fact that Roosterfish has gotten popular enough to expand into WEHO has my head spinning. Someone also needs to take Jalen to an actual circuit party if he thinks that any bar in the WEHO area gives off circuit party vibes. He said it himself; he has never been to a circuit party and that is obvious if he thinks any WEHO club is like a circuit party or gives off circuit party vibes. Even the Motherlode ditching its bullet proof front and opening up to the boulevard has my head spinning. Of course, the last time I was at the Motherlode. Jerry was the owner and could still be found at the first station of the large bar going down the one side.

Back in the late 90s Early 2000s Stache use to be the place most young celebrities hung out on a week night....I think either Wednesday or Thursday...The vibe was everything! I forgot what they called it, back then a lot of the clubs were incognito and you had to be on a guestlist or part of like an underground circuit where you'd get private invites...Pop up clubs were hot back then.

Thank you for your comment! I'm not sure I entirely agree, but you're right-the weekdays aren’t what they used to be. In the '90s and early 2000s, WeHo didn’t have 15 bars packed side by side. Now, it feels like there are too many concentrated in one area. I think WeHo could definitely use more dining options. Plus, a drink these days costs around $20 with tip, whereas in the '90s, it was between $7 and $12. I also believe that Gen Z doesn’t support WeHo like previous generations because they haven’t experienced the same level of hate and discrimination. WeHo used to be a safe space for the gay community, but today they feel comfortable going just about anywhere, and that might be contributing to the shift.

In LA, clubs and bars are lined up in strip centers facing the street, unlike my experience growing up in Houston, where clubs had a gritty, underground feel in converted houses or warehouses, frequented by club kids. 🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣
