Malaysia
Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country occupying parts of the Malay Peninsula and the island of Borneo. It's known for its beaches, rainforests and mix of Malay, Chinese, Indian and European cultural influences. The capital, Kuala Lumpur, is home to colonial buildings, busy shopping districts such as Bukit Bintang and skyscrapers such as the iconic, 451m-tall Petronas Twin Towers.
Kula Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia. Its modern skyline is dominated by the 451m-tall Petronas Twin Towers, a pair of glass-and-steel-clad skyscrapers with Islamic motifs. The towers also offer a public skybridge and observation deck. The city is also home to British colonial-era landmarks such as the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station and the Sultan Abdul Samad Building

Bro, It was my pleasure, definitely great times! Can't wait to see you again! I learned a lot from you :)
I cant not wait for you guys street food review..🤗
if i were the tourism board minister of Malaysia, i would hire Solo in my department or atleast i could make him the ambassador of Visit Malaysia. He is so expert abt this lovely country alot better than me hahaha...
Thank you so much!!! :)
23:08 that ketupat, lemang and rendang is part of the traditional Eid al-Fitr food in Malaysia. most houses that celebrate Eid will serve it.
A collab between Traveling Solo Logs and Andrew Taylor would be a "dream come true"!
maybe many people go out to shop for Ramadan preparations. but Eid preparations are much more chaotic.
Now that Ramadhan is around the corner, why don`t you do Ramadhan bazaar street food vlog..
I like how Chris says," I can totally destroy that!" Solo should learn to destroy those durians too. Lol!😅😂😂
Selamat menyambut bulan suci ramadhan kepada semua umat muslim di dunia 😊
Your knowledge about Malaysian culture and food is impressive! You even know what upin and ipin is? Thats bomb!
The announcement you heard was announcement telling people to move their parked cars somewhere else.
Come to Jalan Tar in Ramadhan, its even more massive!
Haha Upin and Ipin is a classic! 😂
Ramadhan Kareem ya akhy! may ALlah bless us all and accept all our 3badah. Allahummaa ameen
Rendang with ketupat n lemang. 👌👌👌
Your friend was right that is not real crab but processes fish. This market is peak at night until midnight. Its gonna get busier during Ramadhan. Rendang n lemang(sticky rice) is very popular especially during Hari Raya (Eid al-Fitr), must try 👌
The Jalan TAR market opens till late. On a normal weekend it opens til 1am. However during Ramadhan, it opens till around 5am
Beef randang is quite popular type of curry and stew beef even north America it's popular in Malaysian restraints
You two went to a place that is well-known for its Saturday night market in KL. Based on their appearance and dialect, the first store vendors selling meat crab cannot be identified as Malaysians. The announcement you heard requested for the removal of the vehicles obstructing traffic.
Yes agree, they do not look like Malaysian. Some street vendors are not Malaysian but are from neighboring country like Thailand, Indonesia or Bangladeshis and mostly do not converse well in English too.
Great content as always. I love it. Thanks Solo.👍👍👍😍😍😍
My pleasure!
UPIN n IPIN is Malaysian cartoon character .. they are twins😊 ....
I would go for one Ramly burger rather than all of the above. Nice food tour. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! And good choice 😁
Beside Bukit Bintang, KL also have a busy pedestrian called Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman… mostly this place a lot people coming to look for food, fabric and mostly Malay cloth…
you both have good collaboration and chemistry Solo and Chris!!!enjoy to watch your video guyss
Thank you so much 😁
the seller maybe from indonesian..dont know how to speak english..so sorry about that...mostly malaysian people can speak english
I think at least 2 of the guys at the lok-ching place aren't even Malaysians.
The restaurant with the satay cooking in front is actually a very famous KL old school kopitiam. Not many foreign tourists go there. You can get tables easily mon-fri & just hangout with friends 🎉
Every Malaysia can speak simple English..if not it not from Malaysia 😂😂😂..
Some are from village. Melayu pekat😅
Thanks for this wonderful video. Welcome to Ramadan in KL to u guys.
I wonder how all d street food vendors set up their biz of d day, plenty of stalls on d street.
Thank you! 😃
@@TravelingSoloLogs 😄
Hello friend Good afternoon greatting from Macau thanks for for sharing beautiful streetfood kuala lumpur
thank you for watching!
Always watching your chanel...sangat indah like I'm gonna around the world...terima kasih dan salam hangat dari Indonesia 💐
Glad you enjoy it ☺️
The street is Jalan TAR.... its very famous to locals especially during festive holidays... And tomorrow is Ramadhan its going to be busier... You will see more varieties of food then...
Most of them in Raja Laut/chow kit area are foreigners not local that’s why the English proficiency is low there
Dont worry its the same as America lol.
how can you tell?
@@TravelingSoloLogs accent.
@@TravelingSoloLogs Its mandatory for all Malaysians to learn English in school from 7 years old to 18 years old. Similar to other subjects like Maths or Chemistry some students may be good some maybe bad but even the bad students should know basic English and similar to certain countries, we have foreign workers and refugees here and many of them are not proficient in English which is not their fault.
Yup especially in urban areas most will be able to speak English or at least understand
For Bazaar Ramadhan .. Salam Ramadhan Al Mubarak Bro ❤️❤️
Thank you so much! You're Awesome! Video coming soon 😁
Hi Solo and Chris...love to watch both of you doing the vlog together.
So glad!
The crab is actually whats called "Crab Stick" which is actually made of fish. I think white fish or something
New to your channel “Chris sent me” you got a new sub here bro.
IT’s criminal you haven’t tried durian by itself 😂
Dennis welcome to the channel!!! 😃 haha I will eventually try it by itself 😅
Top 5 kuih
1.Kuih Seri Muka(layered green(glutinous flour)+glutinous rice)
2.Karipap(curry puff)
3.Pulut Panggang(sticky rice + little shredded coconut sambal, wrapped with banana leaf)
4.Apam balik(malaysian pancake)
5.Doraemon(donut ball but stuff with sambal tumis&cucumber)
Sticky rice inside the bamboo we called LEMANG and the other one is KETUPAT. We eat with rendang ayam@chicken rendang/rendang daging@beef rendang. Very popular here in Malaysia...
Tomorow starting Ramadhan..there will be one month food festivals all over Msia. Pla join it
Assalamualaikum Sulaiman happy fasting month Ramadhan al Mubarak hope you enjoy to explore at bazaar Ramadhan around KL 👌✌️ you also know about upin ipin hahaha good 👍
Same to you. Ramadan Mubarak!
That sticky rice in bamboo(lemang) we dip in that rendang u just taste are usually main dish on hariraya or Eid Mubarak
Its not 100 % crab, but flour with some crab flavouring
and the sellers are obviously Indonesians who are very bad at english
When out going ..LEMON PUDINA is a suitable drink ...coz it sweet sour n mint flavour its bring your energy ..n freshly feels
Saturday night market in Jalan TAR (Jalan Tengku Abdul Rahman) is always been one of popular and favourite pasar malam by all.. it'll be continuing operationalize as Bazar Ramadan in coming fasting month..it is a phenomenal attraction every year.. everything is there.. just enjoying shopping till end of Ramadan 👍☺️
Thanks for sharing
@@TravelingSoloLogs my pleasure 👍

@@TravelingSoloLogs 😍😍😍
Do you stay for Ramadan or go back to Michigan? If you stay for Ramadan, you can go to Ramadan bazaar and/or mosque hopping for iftar.
I will be here for part of Ramadan 🙂
Great idea
If Bukit Bintang is popular with foreign tourists, Chow Kid Road is popular with Malaysians from the east coast who want to shop or buy because the costs are reasonable.
The food that I would buy for RM10 is satay. The guy who made the announcement told people who parked by the roadside to move their cars. Good afternoon is selamat tengahari
You guys should try Restoran Rebung by chef İsmail. Also, Sambal Hijau restoran for authentic Malay cuisine
The first place that you eat crab stick & all kind of that sausage actually from Southern Thailand...its pretty famous in my place Kelantan...they brought from there to sell in Malaysia...but not sure the seller from also from Thai or Indonesian...our face looks similar tho..sorry they cant speak English...Malaysian can speak at least basic English...maybe they are from Indonesia that thats they cant speak English lol...
That's cool you have similar foods in your hometown 😃
It’s a must try.. Durian is the ultimate fruit of Malaysia. Lool out for Musang King
thanks for the suggestion
23/3 you can bring chris to ramadan bazaar
Sogo mall has a barber shop with an amazing woman...Wawa she used to cut my hair 3 years ago :D
Delicious
Thank you 😋
Important note guys: Always eat street foods hot or after being heated up to minimize stomach issues (just in case). Downtime being unwell is not worth it for travellers especially YT vloggers.
true!
Waiting for the durian challenge😂. Come onn
Hey sir, I'm suggesting to you to spend sometimes in bazar Ramadan. You'll find more food there
Sounds good!
@@TravelingSoloLogs I forgot to mention that, in bazar Ramadhan, it is common to find Tepung Pelita. It's some kind of a dessert that sometimes only available during Ramadhan.
Chris hahahahaa you are right on. Solo has been in Msia so long and never tried durian. Next Solo you have not tasted the rendang?? Come on its available at the Nasi Lemak stalls all over town and also at Wanjo.😅 Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman is the first strret that sells clothes, fabrics, carpets, etc in Kuala Lumpur long before KL ever had a decent Shopping Mall. Historical road. That satay that you pass is the location of another historical Kopitiam Capitol. Tourist only know of Chinatown Petaling Stret. This road is where the bargains are.
Haha I will try Durian soon 😅
15:49 chris was reluctant to accept your offer because he actually disliked it hahahaha KIDDING!
Tomorrow you guys can go to bazar ramadhan for many kuih and food to review 🎉🎉
Sounds good
@@TravelingSoloLogs you can find ayam bakar or kambing bakar at bazar ramadhan just found once in a year..☺
👍👍👍
Thật thích vừa được đi du lịch bạn vừa ăn🎉❤🎉❤🎉🎉❤
I'm glad you like it 😃
The nice street view including a lot of local people captivate my attention and interest. I wish to travel the same places in this video.😀👍👍
Go for it! 😃
@@TravelingSoloLogs Thanks a lot.🙏🙌🙌🙏
At 5:10, the announcement is ordering people to move theirs cars away, they probably needed the curbsides cleared of parked cars
welcome to ipoh
Those who can't speak English fluently are not local, either from Indonesia, Bangladesh, Rohingya
PUASA,,PUASA,,
You guys should go to Penang city, There is a lot of food over there.
👍👍🇲🇾
Should try putu bamboo..
Nice hair bro! Many food stall workers are not Malaysian so English might be a bit difficult to them
Thank you 😁

❤
U guys seems to be handling the heat and humidity well.

💯✌️
Hello guys thank you so much for the interesting video's pls put the exacte location

Really! Of all the things, you skipped Lemang aka sticky rice?? This is top cuisine during Ramadan/Syawal. I hope you try next time.

He's saying -
"Please remove your car ... Its disturbing other vicheles" .. that it.😊
haha who is saying that?
5:05
The announcement earlier
Memberhentikan kereta di bahu jalan hanya akan menyusahkan pengguna kereta yang mahu bergerak dengan cepat...
@@TravelingSoloLogs DBKL bro, its the city hall
Tomorrow is First day of Ramadan...
There is a sharp contrast between US and China visitors when it comes to food in Malaysia. US visitors tend to seek out the cheapest food options, while China visitors are more likely to go for the most expensive. However, both groups find it to be good value for their money.
Interesting, I think it depends on the person 😃
@@TravelingSoloLogs indeed. Hope you discover more delicious food in Malaysia. You can try ikan bakar (grilled fish) in Jalan Bellamy in KL
The grandpa told his grand kid you two try Milo😂😅 they know english but shy if talk wrong in english like me🫢😁
I think he was rude not shy 🤣
That potato thing had waaaaayyy too much mayo for me. Lol. The shawarma was more my speed.
Yeah they love sauce over here 😅
Chris reminds me of Adin Ross the RUclipsr, his doppelganger! Wonder if anyone has told him this. The similarity is unreal.
I know the guy, I haven't heard that before 😂😃
Normally indonesian worker canot speak english😂...local malaysian or banglades can if u ask in english😅
What do you mean when you say "RUclips doesn't like the music"? Are you referring to Copyright things?
Yup
5:24 , the officers are telling drivers not to stop there and move !! No permitted to stop. Pls move your vehicles . You made the smart choice buy king on rendang
I'm coming there this may however I've had my hep A shot but how do I really know the food is clean enough especially the street food don't they wash the vegetables in tap water? Thanks
