I am from Malaysia, many tourists say that Brunei is very bad, because they know that the government of Brunei is very strict, so Brunei is very peaceful and I, as a Malaysian, like Brunei, if the country is not good, why is Brunei peaceful and Brunei's currency is high , most brunei people are very friendly and intelligent, although brunei is small but brunei is very developed and brunei crime cases are very low because brunei has very good laws and brunei people respect the tourists who come, so tourists should follow the laws of brunei including the laws of all countries ❤🇲🇾🤝🏻🇧🇳❤
As a Bruneian, I don't think the government is extremely strict, they contributed a lot of sacrifices for Bruneian people aside from welfare, it's beyond than your imagination. The strict thing about Brunei is operating the shariah law, Strict rules in line with its deeply held reverence for religion. In any case, I really appreciate how familiar you are with this country and also ur positive commented :) 🤝❤
the currency is high because we follow singapore dollars, but yeah as a bruneian i don't find it strict at all... sure the lack of activities do suck, but nothing life threatening. as long as we live healthy, that's all i ask for

Another great video Chris! For those thinking of visiting, the best time to visit is obviously during the Sultan's birthday, every 15th of July. It's a two-week long celebration of various festivities with lots of food and cultural performance. The other time to come is just before Hari Raya Aidil Fitri or Eid al-Fitri. Bruneians will be eager (especially those commenting here) to host you to dine at their open-houses and get into the celebration. Before the pandemic, the Sultan and Royal Family would do open-palaces for anyone to come and visit them. Hopefully, next year when it's much safer, they'll do this again.
