It astounds me that anyone should take issue with Buick for its own sake. Their vehicles routinely score very well on JD Powers [and the like]. The styling is usually gracious, ride comfort and build quality decent, noise vibration and harshness suppression nicely executed. All at a reasonable cost of ownership. Navigation? Android Carplay? You spent more time talking about the heat than telling us more specifics. Was the AC able to keep up?
It does have Apple CarPlay and Android auto, yes. The AC does work well.
Does it have any kind of security alarm or gas door lockout? I can't tell from the Buick website.
No. The fuel door is a push to open

Even with an extra $1500 for AWD, this would still be a very good deal. The lack of AWD is actually the only reason I'm not considering this one for my next vehicle. Love the looks, but no AWD is a dealbreaker in Minnesota. 😀
