Sorry to have discovered your videos so much after their publication. I am floored at the commanding, magisterial sound of this instrument! I owned a 1910 Schiedmeyer harmonium d'art that simply could not complete with your reed organ. (Except maybe for the percussion stop.) Bravo! A grand choice of hymns, as well. Thank you for stirring my soul this morning!
Wow, that is really the greatest, fulliest and unique sound of a reed organ I have ever heard. I totally agree to you, that this is a perfect hymn for this organ to open it up and let it blast! Hope to hear more blasting sounds from this organ. Greetings from Germany :)
Rodney this is the nicest I've ever heard this hymn played. It is a beautiful hymn and you played it beautifully. Blessings and Happy Easter to you and your entire family in Jesus The Christ s name.
i could listen all day....great performance and i am thrilled at the amazing expression and control you command....that organ is fantastic....keep em' coming....
that is a beautiful orchestral reed organ. Must have to have a heavy hand to move the keys with couplers as in a tracker pipe. Ein Feste Burg is a great hymn and you play it as beautifully as if you were playing a pipe organ. What a sound!
Theodore Biele This organ's keys are quite heavy when all of the couplers are engaged. It is still one of my favorites in my collection at home because it has such a range of sounds.
Beautiful! I love the variety in tone per the didferent sections. This has such a grand tone, I'm so glad you made it one of your life ambitions to restore these beautiful instruments
OMG, that is AMAZING! I have heard and played many reed stops on large organs that are put to shame by this instrument. I would love to hear a Bach fugue on it.
i Love this song, a friend of mines mother played this on the organ for us when we were kids it was also the theme song for davey and goliath cartoon, what a wonderful song
Beautiful beautiful..one of my favorite hymns and your playing was perfection. Thank you for sharing your talent!!! And just disregard the troll that gave you the one dislike.
+Brita Cashman-Tarrant - Three months later and I see your comment - it made my day today! Thank you! I also smiled at disregarding the troll LOL... yes, it is surprising how many are out there :)
We Lutherans love this hymn. Our hymnal has both the rhythmic and isorhythmic versions. It is often played as a postlude to a funeral. It really sounded great of your organ and your playing was very firm. Thanks!
I really enjoy the reed organs the the numbers you play. When I was a youngster many years ago I restored a few reed organs and put an esty in a church in working order. I love the Berlin you playing Fanfare. I am trying to download as many of your videos as I can, downloading this one now. thanks again and good luck Bill inOhio
Thanks! That coupler really tends to make you work the keys though, it is rather heavy. Good thing it is air tight because it treadles quite easily for its size.
So I was one of those kids who liked to say for the benediction as everybody left the sanctuary. Grandparents had an old reed organ. They sold it as they aged. So I started collecting midi keyboards and made an early pre-Hauptwerk electronic organ. But then I wanted more. So I got mom an Allen 2-manual church organ. We put that in the dinning room. Then I found a Rogers Trilogy B-32 and we put that in the front living room (that nobody uses anymore). Then I got rid of the Allen and later replaced it with a Lowrey Holiday. Then she had to move to an apartment and we sold the Trilogy but kept the Lowrey. Now, she wants to get rid of the Lowrey and get an old pump reed organ. So this helps me decide on a model.
Stunning Rodney! The absolutely most THRILLING version and playing I have EVER heard in my entire life of this piece. Just think, "Ein feste Burg" had to wait until Aug. 28 2013 to be heard played as you have done by the rest of the world. Bravo a hundred times over Maestro! Craig
Beautiful pump organ. I collect Victorian antiques, I have three of these organs in my home but none are as grand as this one, Wish I knew how to play them!
Wonderful! Who can say now that reed organs aren't capable of delivering real spit and fire! The sound at tutti snarls and growls. It's awesome and inspiring, as is your playing Rodney!
Magnificent instrument. I have never heard such a grand sound from a reed organ. I have thought for years about getting a good one but the problem is to know which manufacturer and which model, and to find one in good or practically restorable condition. I think you may have answered the question about which manufacturer.
Look for a 16 foot bass section and musette stop (slightly out of tune). I am rebuilding one right now, hasn't had any work done in a century. Low tech work easy to rebuild. Any brand, they copied the heck out of each other.
I thank you, Rodney for the marvelous work! I listen as intently as possible. There is much to be learned as well as to be appreciated. Thanks again, with every good wish.
Good question ap xpandy....Aint no pedals under there but the bellows pumping ones! The pedal tones can be simulated through coupling lower bass reeds. This keeps the character of pipe organ music for the most part, and for most Congregations, this would be a more than adequate organ. The overtones shimmer much in the way a pipe organ's would.
Thanks! I was trying to decide which version to play, maybe I can try the rhythmic version next time, but I get too carried away with the shorter notes when I play it, and it comes out sounding like a gigue..
I have a chance to play an 1897 George P. Bent organ 5 minutes from the house and they want to set it up foir me to do so ...lol Only to record it to send to the owner who's had it restored in 1977 J.David Landaiche TYSVVM AND GOD BLESS you
Yes, this is the perfect hymn for this organ. Besides, I love Luther's A Mighty Fortress is Our God!
Sounds just as good as any pipe organ I've ever heard. Also, the playing was excellent.
I honestly like the sound of reed organs more. Sounds warmer
By far the best reed organ I've heard either on RUclips or in the flesh.
Colin Gantiglew .....OR, even in “person”!
WOW! Quite a powerful foot pumper! And, of course, eine sehr kraftvolle Hymne !
Greetings from Hamilton!
Martin Luther would LOVE IT!
...as do we ALL. Truly beautiful!
In hell.
What a SUPERB instrument. Thank you, for posting.
This is amazing. One of the best renditions I've ever heard.

Sehr wunderbar das ist. Güter Werk; güter Lied; güter Gott! Wie schön! Prosit!
Lutheran greetings from Sweden!
And to You from Poland

WOW, what a glorious sounding organ! It really thunders!!!!
Wonderful! These always inspire me to go play my own after watching! This organ would be great to hear in a church with the mass singing behind it!
Wow what thunder it has! I love this organ - bravo Rodney!
Thank you very much. I'm happy that you enjoy them!
Rodney
You really give this reed organ a work-out, and very competently played! Just what we need to hear. Thanks, so much for sharing Ein feste Burg!
Amazing sound from this old instrument
Beautiful, and the bass is incredible! Thank you for sharing your talent and this amazing instrument!
Just wonderful and fitting to 31.10.2016 Reformation - holiday Germany (Dr. Martin Luther)
God bless it, that sound hold's dominion over the realm!

Are you playing the Lutgeran Book of Worship Hymn 229 (metric version)
Beautiful! I love the variety in tone per the didferent sections. This has such a grand tone, I'm so glad you made it one of your life ambitions to restore these beautiful instruments
Absolutely incredible. So full of sound, and so rich a tone as well! What a brilliant instrument!
A beautiful hymn played on a beautiful reed organ. Good stop changes, Rodney.
it sounds so clear and so rejoicing. this reminded me of my uncle playing the reed organ. fantastic!
Oh...is very very good playing...Thanks
wunder wunderschön ! DANKE!
Bravo Mr. Jantzi! This is a beautiful performance as well as a wonderful intruction to this instrument.
If this was a record, I'd have worn it out by now. Awesome presentation! Thanks for sharing. :-)
Why can't I click the like button more than once?
OMG, that is AMAZING! I have heard and played many reed stops on large organs that are put to shame by this instrument. I would love to hear a Bach fugue on it.
That organ really packs a punch wow
Wonderful music, great hymn, wonderfully performed! Many thanks for sharing!
You are a master reed organ player! You make the instrument sing and use all its features to the full extent. Bravo!
Beautifully played!
WOW....what a glorious sound....
Großartig! In diesem Sinne einen gesegneten 500. Reformationstag!
i Love this song, a friend of mines mother played this on the organ for us when we were kids it was also the theme song for davey and goliath cartoon, what a wonderful song
Thanks Chris! I'm looking forward to hearing it in a bigger room this October.

Oh I'm so glad you saw the comment! Glad it made your day as you've made so many of mine.
What a beautiful instrument!!
Very nice Choral, very well played. I like a lot your registration, it shows us all the possibilities of this instrument. Thanks for sharing.
What full body! Love it!
Wonderful song. This organ is awesome, congratulations for epic performace,
Ricardo Giordano I think this is the first time one of my reed organs were considered epic... :) makes me smile! Thanks!
Fine manly tune played very well.- well done.
I watch/listen to this regularly. Thank you so much for posting it!
Thank you!
Amazing! You have so many stops pulled out it sounds like flue pipes. Wow that 32' makes it so much better
Was not expecting this sound from a reed organ! Magnificent.

The sound amazes me. I have never heard one with a more powerful sound. I wish my single manual Wilcox & White sounded like that
Beautiful majestic sound.
Beautiful instrument!
Thank You
Great Version
Anyway God bless you
Wow! Who needs a pipe organ when you have one of these!
Very, very well played version of this perfect hymn to the almighty power.
I am impressed, what a sound that Dominion has. Beatiful playing as always.

Thanks Zane! This little organ can pack a punch when needed, but it does take a lot of energy if you play it too long at those volumes...
That is the best rendition I've heard of this hymn yet :-)
Beautiful!!!, More please!!!!!
Thanks Marco!

Burt Ward - Awesome! Thanks for sharing that. Reed organs are so different from any other, almost a category of their own.
Thanks Craig! I always get a kick out of your comments :) You are MUCH too kind!
I love this tune

Absolutely excellent! Nice sounding organ, well kept. Reminds me of days before, as Fred G. Sanford would say "Athoritus" took my fingers.
My god that reed organ can sing, sounds like my great grandmothers reed organ
Wonderful! Who can say now that reed organs aren't capable of delivering real spit and fire! The sound at tutti snarls and growls. It's awesome and inspiring, as is your playing Rodney!
This organ has really an outstanding tutti! Sounds wonderful!
Beautifully played !!!!!
Bravo maestro!
My favorite version of Dr Luther's A Mighty Fortress.
Listen before we go sleeping , thanks, nice! Great from holland

You need a registrant! :-) Plays just like a big tracker! Wonderful. Well voiced/registered.
One of the reasons I like these old reed organs is because it is 100% mechanical, although the touch gets really heavy with all of the couplers on :)
Can you imagine the mechanical nightmare of a combination action in a reed (or a tracker pipe) organ?
Amazing execution! Could you post me the sheet score? My father play the organ and I would like that he play this amazing music. Many thanks
Just as I remember it! Gott mit Uns !
Que hermoso órgano! Espero algún día aprender a tocar este magnífico instrumento saludos y bendiciones
Thanks! One day I'll have to play something softer on it but it is awfully hard to do that when so much sound is available :)
splendid organ wish it was in my living room
wow........powerful sound.......
Love reed organs too!
I love this instrument
I LOVE THE POWER!!!! I think your nickname should be "Rodney Power Jantzi"
I would love to hear this played on your Berlin Reed Organ. I think after 7 years you could recycle this hymn into a new recording.
Magnificent !!!
Woah man this is awesome. I love how this thing really belts the sound out!
squidgetpj92 Thanks Squidgetpj! Yes, it is loads of fun to play full blast :)

That is just absolutely amaizing, Rodney!. Always a pleasure to listen to your performances. Thank you for sharing :-).

Feel like I’ve die and gone to heaven!! 🙏🏻
It will be spectacular!
I have a chance to play an 1897 George P. Bent organ 5 minutes from the house and they want to set it up foir me to do so ...lol Only to record it to send to the owner who's had it restored in 1977 J.David Landaiche TYSVVM AND GOD BLESS you
