I want to play this as a postlude (on a pipe organ) as soon as we come back after the Covid shutdown. There are several RUclips versions of this but I keep on coming back to yours as an exemplar because your articulation and expression are so perfect.
Thank you David! There is something about playing this piece that is very satisfying. I played it in our church on a larger reed organ a couple of years ago, it just rang through the sanctuary :) ruclips.net/video/FXQbz6KiOcY/видео.html
@Zylstra555 - I have 2 old condenser microphones placed in the middle of the room, around 3 feet off the floor, in addition to the stereo mics on the camera.
@organman49 - Thank you very much! Your Clough and Warren would be absolutely amazing with that many reeds. In some ways, I think that Clough and Warren are "releated" to Berlin organs, as the Berlin organs seemed to share many of the same internal designs and parts as Dominion organs, and Dominion organs are linked to C&W though ownership…
I love the way you play. I've been kistening to this music on RUclips and your recording sounds better than most, although they're using more powerful tube organs. Also, with you I can actually listen to every note while with most other guys tend to "eat" some notes here or there.
Outstanding performance!! Where on Earth did you learn to play the reed organ the way it is supposed to be played? I very rarely see anyone use the knee swells. How did you learn? We just got a restored Windsor organ yesterday from an estate for $150, and it is very powerful. I loved your performance so much that I subscribed to your channel! PLEASE!! KEEP ON POSTING!!
@rodneyjantzi Thanks for letting me know. I was wondering because I didn't notice much of a volume difference when you operated the right knee swell. On the two reed organs I have had a chance to spend time with, both of them had drastic differences -- perhaps I was just expecting too much! Thanks for sharing this information, I'd like to do a similar setup.
Well done on this recording of Op. 105 No. 5! Although this piece is often transcribed for organ, I'm picturing how it might sound with a full concert band, incl. tympani, cymbals, and a rudimental snare part based on historical techniques for complementing the melodies of marches.
Great!!! I taped it twice, on pipe-organs (check my channel), but this version is very interesting! And the piece is played on the type of instrument, that it's written for!
And finally, a great sounding use for the 'Bathroom' ENVIRONMENT [reverbs] on my Sound Blaster EAX settings! Brilliant tone on that setting. Try it:) Although you could put the organ in the bathroom with you. lol
Rodney, I am going to make a suggestion which I can understand if you do not have time for. PLEASE make another recording of this performance with your improved sound recording equipment. It is such a treasure when performed on the caliber of American suction reed organs which you have restored and with your playing abilities. Mark.
YES! Please record a cd - I would love to take your music with me in the car. :)
That is so wonderful!

This is just delightful. I knew these instruments were capable of such delightful music, I've just never heard one played so well.
So good sound, wow!
I just got new speakers - this was the first thing I wanted to listen to. Sounds AMAZING.
Amazing! Fantastic! And bravo! This is the best sounding reed organ I've ever heard! What a jewel!
Thank you very much, Rodney.
How interesting & lovely, hearing & seeing this reed organ! WONDERFUL!!!
Yes, You must make an album of thid beautiful instrument, And of your superb playing!
Thanks! The video does not do this organ justice, it sounds so much richer in person, plus you feel the bass in your fingers while playing it :)
You are an excellent musician! You sense of timing and feel is impeccably human too:)
Rodney, I also have been truly enjoying your videos, and this Berlin is really a stunning instrument. Thank you again so much.
You are very kind - Thank you so nuch!

Very very nice playing ! I had this play on CD (from the Karg-Elert intergal CD box), but on live, how better it is ! Thanks for it !
Magnificent!
Please, more Karg-Elert harmonium works.

Brillant!! Thanks for the concert.
Bravissimo, Rodney !

An oldie....but goodie....Love the knee work...so versatile...
Bravo ! Encore !

The Dallas Wind Symphony has, I belive, recorded it.
@DeusMisereremei - Thank you very much!
Thanks so much!
Well done!!

Great!
The Handel treatment.
very cool!

LOL! Yeah, my videos from my early years on YT did not have the highest quality mics or ambience...
Make an album already!
awesome!
I am sure. Perhaps I will see it one day. :)

Mark.
+ibsoarin - A remaster of this piece is on my 'bucket list'. I think the 2M Dominion Orchestral would handle it nicely...
Dianne Bish has recording of this on a big pipe organ with 'tromba en chamade', but I think I like your version better.
great knee action.....
I tend to use it a lot, I'll probably wear it out one day...
I love Händel.
Where do you have the microphone placed?
unter welcher Opus Nr. oder welchem Namen (evtl. grösseres Werk?) ist dies bei Karg-Elert verzeichnet ? (für Notensuche bei ISMLP) danke für ein info.
MBueno ¡
C’est Marveloux
Thanks Ted! This is an old recording, I'd like to redo it some day.
