    Drill is fun and essential to making good military personnel! Anyone who is at these ceremonies and isn't in uniform should have had their right hand over their heart, I saw a few people during the playing of the National Anthem who didn't follow that rule, are those few people really Americans?!

    This graduation was far and beyond better than my US Army graduation day back in 1970. We did not even have a band that day in Ft Ord. I guess all the Army bands were tied up at funerals for are fallen dead coming home from Nam.

    This will soon be my day. Im a young Marine Cadet in a program that takes place at an Army/Marine Corps reserve center. This program has been noticed by the government so they made it to all the marines that were NCOs in this program will recieve the rank of Private First Class directly from boot camp graduation. If you are an Honor Graduate you will recieve the rank of Lance Corporal from boot camp graduation. Im planning to go to DI School after the rank of sargeant.

    Well, for your information I own the copyright of this video and yes RUclips has been notified. Obviously RUclips talks a big game but do not police this site as they should. So, let's just copy others work and put it all on RUclips.

    Bull Terriers should be the Marine symbol, which is a much stronger dog than Bulldogs. Thumbs up if you agree

    • @roastbeefsandwich6769
      @roastbeefsandwich6769 9 лет назад

      Wayne Fletcher explain? Have you seen a Bull Terrier in action?

    • @roastbeefsandwich6769
      @roastbeefsandwich6769 9 лет назад

      Wayne Fletcher There must be more to it than what you wrote. Bull Terriers seem like a much stronger dog to me, but The Marines are all about tradition, so this won't change in a 1,000 years. Also, MCRD San Diego is far too noisy for quality instruction, with SD Airport next door & jets taking off/landing every 2 minutes. How hard would it be to build barracks and parade deck, etc. up at Camp Pendleton? (of course I know this won't happen)

    • @roastbeefsandwich6769
      @roastbeefsandwich6769 9 лет назад

      Wayne Fletcher I did my time at PI, but caught pneumonia. Sadly that ended things for me. Answer: No. and I'm not trying to change things - just sharing thoughts. I regret the choices I made, but there are no time machines.

    • @roastbeefsandwich6769
      @roastbeefsandwich6769 9 лет назад

      Wayne Fletcher You may not believe me. It was back in 1983. When I was released from the hospital, having lost 5-8 pounds from my starting weight of 132 - I asked to get out. My motivation went from 100% to near nothing and I had no energy. I had no time to recover. Looking back, they should never have let me out. I regret that request/choice.

    • @roastbeefsandwich6769
      @roastbeefsandwich6769 9 лет назад

      Wayne Fletcher Understood. actually pneumonia is deadly. I would have been fine if they had permitted me to regain some weight and strength, in stead they stuck me right back into training. I just felt depleted. I would love to visit PI again one day.

  • @imthechamp101
    @imthechamp101 4 года назад +1

    I love the the marines. That arm swing is absurd though

    • @mofo7689
      @mofo7689 Год назад

      I entirely agree. It almost looks like a straight line heading to the camera. Then the precisions STOPS. They don't march to the pivot point. Some are entirely on the wrong foot. The SgtMaj at the beginning is clearly an Affirmative Action billet. Her uniform does not present any degree of COMMAN APPEARANCE. She is clearly not at the fitness level I would expect of the example set by senior enlisted. MCRD San Diego, M Co, Nov 1983. Our DIs (all of them) looked like they came out of a catalog.

    • @billneice3747
      @billneice3747 8 лет назад +1

      They are Privates. The Private First Class wears one stripe. These are the recruits that have been selected by their Drill Instructors as the most outstanding.

    • @RexLake03
      @RexLake03 8 лет назад

      Bill Neice I know what rank they are

    • @Skidmark0303
      @Skidmark0303 6 лет назад +1

      The ones without stripes are E-1s (Private) and the ones with a stripe are E-2s (Private First Class) those are their ranks. And the way to graduate as an E-2 is to be outstanding in bootcamp like bill said. Or have college credits, ROTC experience, and referals from what i know

    I was in the Navy in the late 80's and was going to "A" school in Meridian, MS and I used to see a lot of Female Marines there, looking hard core, I tried to talk with them, but they just ignored me with that hard look. I always wondered what Marine school they were going through, it must of been for Marine ladies only because I never saw any Male Marines. I liked the green uniforms they had with the tall head cover.

    @Capt Ron I understand your concern sir. I will say that for some of us who didn't have the opportunity to see such a wonderful event, it is quite a spectacle to see. I am really enjoying it and I'm sure for others as well that they feel the same way. I would hope that you and all other Marines would take it as an honor that there are a few of us who appreciate all that you all have done and do for our wonderful country by allowing us the freedom to watch this event and leave with such a sense of respect, pride and honor for all that cross that parade deck at Parris Island, S.C. and San Diego, Ca. Please take this as a complement and that my comments are not to be interpeted as an insult sir. God speed and Semper Fi.
