This brings memories. As a Retired Marine, with Three tours as a Drill Instructor and a Series Gunnery. Sergeant. It's been an Honor and a privilege to serve with the best. Wish i could do another 20. Greetings to all Past, Present and Future. Oooooooorah. Santa Rosa, Texas

Congradulations to you on your son's accomplishment as well. You are the second one to comment and having a family member to graduate the same day. The other lady was the aunt. She did not get to attend and said this was a chance for her to feel what it was like to be there. Her nephew was in the same platoon as my grandson (1074). They are both at Camp Lejeune N.C. as of Monday. May they be safe. Thanks again for your comments. Kelly (cruffer@hotmail.com)
Dude, Me Too! Plt. 140, May-Aug. '73. It has changed. Maybe I'm senile, but it looks like the bleachers are now facing where 2nd battalion was, in wooden barracks, with 1st Battalion behind them. It used to be the other way.
And because he has set such an amazing example i as well will join the marines. Of course I'll end up in Parris Island, SD for my bootcamp. (just found that out! That sucks i wouldve liked to be in San Diego)

Imagine being a 1st Battalion recruit having just got to the island. You think the misery will never end, and you look outside and see this.
They actually put an opaque film on the windows facing the parade deck during my time on the Depot in 2016. So not anymore. 🙃

It's an honor to be in any U.S. military uniform, be it Coast Guard or whatever. Some may have to give a limb, others may have to give their life.
