@Barbara Sinclair - I'm not the biggest fan of many parts of rodeos, however your "facts" are blately incorrect. No state has banned rodeos. Some have banned certain tack items and Florida does not allow rodeos in city limits. However, that is it. Spreading misinformation does no good.
I only did such thing like this only once - even by accident. I was on a mare and riding pretty calmly some western when she went nuts like these horses.. After that, I surely knew I had to pay respect to the people who sit their time out in events like these xD
I would like to point out to all of you a few things One, I ride horses often, and am around these animals and study their body language If you watch, the horse's ears are almost never pinned, they are not in physical pain and if you were to watch a full ride including the aftermath, you'd see that the horse stops bucking almost every time, there are horses that keep bucking but every horse is different, it really does depend on if they were trained gently or abusively I am not saying that every one of these horses are treated well, yes, there are some really abusive and terrible ways that rodeos run their bucking animal events, but thats not what all rodeos do, there is a way that you can train the animal to buck without being abusive My last point is that at my local rodeo, they do not tighten the bucking straps to where it physically is causing pain to the animal, they tighten it to where is causes just enough discomfort to wear the animal will buck, in a lot of the pbr or nra rodeos they do tighten them to tight (in my opinion) also at my rodeo if you are caught using any form of electrocution on the animal you will be banned (i beleive that is the rule), so yes there are very abusive and wrong ways that these animals are run, but there are plenty of ways to make the event much easier and gentle on the animal, and no, i am not saying that it is a completely non abusive sport, no matter what you do in rodel there will be an aspect that somebody will find abusive and that often times is true. I just ask that we all think and do research, not just make "educated" guesses. It would help the debate over this issue be much less dramatic and far more peaceful between people. I'm not looking to start a full blown argument i am just pointing out what i have learned and witnessed in my years of being around this type of environment :)
Why are we destroying them? Just because we took over the world, d doesn't mean we ruin teh world's beauty's and animals. Horses don't deserve to be treated like this, and all people who disagree are heartless.
@SoCuteLovely Yeah of course. These horses pretty typically enjoy what they do. Accidents happen sometimes, but accidents happen in every equestrian sport, am I wrong? We care for these animals and love them just like you do with your horses. These are just rougher animals because they aren't broken in.
I was looking at all the comments and I noticed a lot of people saying that rodeos are cruel and sick because of the use of the flask strap and the supposed maiming of horses. I did some research on this however and I found that... 1) Bucking horses and bull are trained from a young age to buck. The flank strap is only used to enhance the bucking. A flank strap is a wide piece of leather with a specialized knot to allow a loose tension to encourage the animal to buck. 2) If you tied the flank strap to tight then the animal can not move, it binds them, it hurts them and they cannot buck. If the flank strap is too loose the animal will not buck because they are not stimulated enough. 3) Anatomically a bull or horse have no genitals in the area that the flank strap is tied to. As far as putting rubber bands, barbed wire etc. around the genitals of the bulls. People have died trying to do much less to a bull. As far as tying anything around the genitals of the horses. They use MARES (Female Horses) AND GELDINGS (Male horses that have castrated) there is nothing to tie to. They do not use studs/stallions for bucking stock anymore because they had the tendonsy of coming back to hurt the cowboy, they would also fight in the pens or the trailor and end up hurting or killing themselves or a person. Studs/stallions have not been used in rodeo sense the late 30's. 4) If you watched long enough, you would see that after the rider has been thrown off, the animal stops bucking and CALMS DOWN. They go back into the waiting pen. 5) If there was something shocking them or if there was barbed wire or rubber bands tied around the animals genitals, the poor animal would be in so much pain, it wouldn't move at all. It would lay down and moan. It would hurt to much otherwise. As for shocking they would run and run, no bucking, just running to try and escape. I'm not saying that there are not corrupt rodeos that are cruel to their animals, but I just think that if there were, all the caring people (like many of you in the comments section) who want to do something about the animals welfare, would do so and report the cruelty of the rodeo and have proof. If many of you still do not agree, would they please reply to this and tell me how my info may be wrong, or even point me to a site where they have proof and eyewitnesses? And (respectfully) please don't give me PEETA sites. I find that the photos they have seem like they are set up and some the stories that they have "eyewitnesses" for tend to be exaggerated. Thank you!
1) So. It's an extreme annoyance that they attempt to remove, but are forced to keep. That's inhumane. 2.)It already is clearly irritating them if they're trying to get it off. 4) I actually DON'T, see that. I see very quick cuts off to the next rider, meanwhile the horse jumps off screen, still clearly irritated. 5) ...What? Where's your source for that? ...That's why they shock them in places where it STINGS, & KEEPS, irritating them. Uh. What? There's literally HUNDREDS, of videoes. Look up SHARK dude. They have videos of Rodeo owners shoving ELECTRIC, wires up horses & bulls anuse's to get them riled. Just did so.
Alexei Strife And I could look up dressage riders using Rollkur and get the same result. What proof do you have that the people who do shock them are the owners? Rodeos are typically run by organizations. The livestock comes from stock contractors. Obviously you didn't do enough research.
Anne Storms Are you fucking blind? I just gave you a major source that has literally dozens of videos, either you're dishonest as fuck about your opinion, or extremely stupid.
Sorry, child. Your research is incorrect. Wife of a retired cattle farmer here, and he hates the rodeo more than I do. Let's start with 1). ALL prey animals will react to the flank strap, there is NO "bucking gene". Some horses are more reactive. Period. 2) & 3) The Flank strap is tied around their sensitive flank area (duh), the most vulnerable portion of any prey species anatomy. The flank sits immediately in front of their genitals. Like right.beside.them. It is NOT the same as a "belt". Lots of stallions are used, look up Grated Coconut. He'll let kids ride him, when he isn't being flanked to buck. 4) REALLY? You don't watch enough. I haven't seen a bronc yet that stopped when the rider came off. They stop bucking when the thing that MAKES them buck comes off. The flank strap. BTW, Calgary Stampede sends their bronc culls to slaughter. Just thought you should know.
I am also BHS approved riding instructor, with BHS Stages, PTT, PTC, AI and most recently 'I'. I by no means claim to be the best at what i do, because i like to think that everyone can learn something new everyday...
I don't know why people get so upset about rodeo. as far as I'm concerned the horses get their own back when they chuck the rider and probably do more damage to them in the process.
Ive rodeoed all my life and i can promise anyone that these animals are in better care than any other animal in the world the stock contractors spend more money on these animals than yall can ever make in your lives so i wouldnt talk shit.

VIDEO evidence shows a penned up horse being repeatedly pocked in the ass hole with a sharp wire, their tails pulled and twisted, and shocked with high powered tazers who's manufacturers clearly stated that these tazers are NOT to be used on live stock. the cover ups, propaganda and lies continues in defence if these abusive corrupt profiteering entertainment industries that continues to profit off the suffering and abuse of these animals.
This isn't meant to be a display of horsemanship. It's simply a display of riding a horse that's determined to throw you off. They aren't abused at all. These horses love what they do. Stock contractors take really good care of their animals.
Also, as stated before, the PBR and PRCA both have hosted events where no flank straps were used, and the animals still bucked, simply to disprove the fact that these straps "force animals to buck." There is no "force" involved with anything. When the animals compete, they do it willingly. If they don't want to buck, they won't leave the chute. If they don't leave after two tries, they simply remove all gear from the animal, and another horse is used. No big deal.
Why come here to comment rude? Sure, some of the people that are working/training rodeo abuses their horses, but I don't see that anyone abuses these horses. You do know that the hires also may like it? If you're here to comment rude, then why did you watch it in the first place? No offense, people
Kitok WhiteFang These riders get a lot of noteriety here in England. But they forget there are a lot of English riders who straight up beat the horses with a whip. Its only intended to lightly tap or flick near the horse's shoulder to motivate them but the tool is regularly used to punish the horse. I would like to say this doesn't look that gentle but the truth is I don't know enough about spurs or this sport to make a judgment on whether is cruel or not.
Shelby The Husky these horses are worth more than you’ll ever in in your life. They are very well taken care of, as they are expensive af. The strap in front of the hips helps with them not bucking too hard; or they could actually hurt themselves. Like if a bunny kicks to hard, their back breaks. The strap is there to apply pressure and keep them from kicking too hard. They are trained to buck, because they have been trained that way since they were young enough to be ridden. It’s in their breed to buck, like a thoroughbred to run. The spurs are very dulled down. They do not use cattle shocks, prods are different; it’s just a stick that has vibrations. And I would know, I’ve been touched by one. Like the ‘electric’ pens, or joy buzzers. These are also run by big and responsible organizations. Do you see how fit these animals are? They do vet checks, profile checks, and drug tests. It’s like the Jockey Club but the rodeo version. The JC only allows tracks with clean records, and does drug tests on their horses. And thoroughbreds aren’t the big horses in slaughter; it’s Quarter Horses. Got a problem, tell the AQHA that. Do some research before you try and make an argument.
@AnimalLeftist All the flank does is enhance the motion. It encourages the horse to kick higher and straighter, which is actually safer for everyone involved. They don't give it a "bloody good yank." Initially when the flank goes on, it isn't even touching the horse in the chute. They pull it so it is, and then it gets looser as the horse moves.
Also, I know you are inexperienced with rodeo because a flank strap is also "not also known as a bucking strap." Nobody who works with horses, or rodeo will refer to this as the "bucking strap." It is not the flank strap that encourages bucking. I've raised bucking horses. They're trained from a very early age to do what they do. It's a reverse training process.
@cookiepony They aren't broken so they can be used in these bronc events. After they retire the broncs, they usually turn into very good horses. In fact, the horses you see the other cowboys on that catch the bronco and pull off the flank strap, usually are ex saddle broncs.
horses have served man for 2.500 years and how do we reward them: this I am not saying that they use things to hurt the horses. I'm just asking how can a horse enjoy that?
@horsieproductionss Well accidents happen at times, that's undeniable. Horses die in any other equestrian sport occasionally too. That doesn't mean the sport is inheritantly cruel, that means accidents happen. We don't want the horses to die. They're are livestock and we take good care of them. They're like our pets. When the family dog dies, that doesn't mean the family is abusive and cruel, that means that things that our out of our control happen sometimes.
The flank strap is simply to enhance the motion of the buck. The horse will buck without it, because that's what he or she has been bred and trained to do, but the flank strap will keep them from kicking out sideways and all over the place, which makes it safer for the horse as it's a cleaner motion with the kick, thus reducing the chance of it tripping and falling down or breaking a leg.
@@matthewgarnes8090 Would you like it when there is an rope pulled on your crotch? No i dont think so, these horses buck becouse their being hit, schoked with tazers, and abused. If you've trained horses to buck, obviously broncs can be trained too. The flank strap is used as the command to buck. They're trained so that when it's on and they're in the open, they buck.
@Kraqueboom However, in Argentina, and Uruguay they do bronc riding without flank straps there. There is a video of it. I'll find it and send you a link. It's a lot different style from here in the America's, and it's also a lot more dangerous for both horse and rider.
>"Nobody PLANS for a horse to get injured at a rodeo. Nobody wants that." That's a blatant lie! ALL injuries that occur in Rodeo are planned for, that is WHY all Rodeo events MUST have veterinarians on site! Those who don't want animals to be injured, BAN Rodeo's because of the common inherent injuries to animals. The readers here are not fools. They see past your propaganda. If Rodeo competitors and attendees didn't want any animal to be injured, there would be no Rodeo. Its that simple.
These horses are bred to buck. It's what they do naturally when something gets on their back. The strap on the back is only tight enough to keep the saddle from slapping up and down or sliding off when they buck. A lot of western riders use them, like cattle and cutting, reiners, pole benders, and barrel racers.
and i am a horse lover soo x] i just speak my mind :P i rescue horses and if you have a problem of what i think to say... then u have issues cause what i say is true ^_^

@thelifeofchrissi finally someone who agreesss ! they tighen the cinch sooo tight that it pinches them and bucks. No horse bucks like this undersaddle, unless they were in pain !
Yes, I've seen/experienced it. My horse has bucked me off more than once, and she's in no pain. She's 12 years old and should know better, but she bucks because she wants too.
I agree with you too. I don't like the hot shot at all. Even though it causes no damage, I just hate electricity running through my body! The stock contractor I work with has an alternative way of getting horses out that don't leave the chute. When it happens, we run a neck rope around the horse, and we ride the gate and pull the horse out of the chute and usually that works just as well, with less 'shock factor' for the horse. It just requires more physical labor, which is fine by me.
If you can’t handle watching a certain entertainment like this that everyone is into, then just don’t watch it. I’m sick and tired of you people saying that this is animal abuse even though it’s not. It’s just a damn sport. If you really wanna see animal cruelty then fucking look up Spanish bull fighting and you’ll be surprised for what they do to bulls.
SergeantAndy 913 how could you say this is not animal abuse? No horse is born aggressive. The only reason these horses are bucking and show aggression is because they are tased, whipped and abused. Shut up
@cookiepony A lot of saddle broncs are once they're retired. The horses aren't trained to stop bucking in bronc riding. That's why even after having so many riders, they still buck. The horses you're seeing aren't broken yet, so they'll buck like there's no tomorrow whenever they have a rider on them.
Also, the shock devices used are not tazers. A tazer is designed to shut a living being down, not make it hyperactive. Another thing to remember is the cattle prod can only be used if a horse stalls in the chute when the gate opens, and it can only be used with the rider and stock contractor's consent and may only be used in the hip or shoulders. The shock has virtually no amperage, but a lot of voltage. I've been shocked by them before, so I can tell you from experience they don't hurt.
They use a strap pulled tight across their flanks and around their "tickle spot" to make them buck; it goes back to the instincts of the horses as the flanks are where their predators would attack them.
@ridingismylife558 In a way, bronc riding is working with the horse. You have to be totally in sync with every move the horse is making, and you're letting the horse do it's own thing. You aren't leading it or anything. If you aren't in sync and making good time, you usually end up in the dirt.
Cole McCue First yes because this is the reason why huge amounts of horses die a year and secondly, these horses are not wild they are neglected and abused
@@mack495 it Is Do you think horses would just fucking kick and shit for fun? Rodeo idiots are the reason horses are considered 'dangerous' Horses even get shocked on there way out of the pin and that's why they act that way
irishpubcrawler OMG I said before they are being abused by,kicking, smacking, and most of all TASED!These are not wild horses they are abused and neglected horses
The bloodlines have been established for a long time. They've bred horses that had a history of bucking for a long time, and it's just a simple process of evolution and what not. Genetics. They're also trained in it when they're about five years ol. They're awesome horses.
The prod leaves no burns or anything. There's no damage done. Also, the reason he moved his spurs over the withers is because he was marking the horse out. It's a mandatory rule. The spurs have rowels that are free rolling, and very, very dull so that they don't hurt the horse. The most they do is ruffle their hair. I've tried hurting myself with them before and it just isn't possible. He probably marked the horse out too early though. You're not supposed to mark out until the horse moves.
Yeah, many times. I work at a ranch that raises bucking horses, and a lot of times, we'll slip on the flank and it will fall right off, and the horse will still buck. At RodeoHouston back in March, there was a horse that had the flank come off prematurely during Chris Harris's ride, and the horse kept bucking. It's what they're trained and bred to do. It's not something that's forced.
@SoCuteLovely These horses aren't broken to ride. They are basically a step away from being wild. Without the flank strap they'll still buck, but they'd probably rear up more, and wouldn't kick as fluid, and it would be more dangerous for the animal. The flank keeps the animal safe.
@horsieproductionss Actually these horses ARE trained to buck. At 2 years old they start training with a dummy on their backs. At 8 seconds the dummy is released and the horse is REWARDED for bucking. They are trained in reverse from being trained to ride. The flank strap doesn't make them buck, all it does is enhance the motion. These horses would buck without the flank. All the flank does is make their feet go straighter and higher.
@Junebug5545 They are a little bit different types of horses. Generally, saddle bronc horses are bred to be heavier and more muscular in contrast to the leaner and more agile bareback horses. But then again, I'm sure there are exceptions out there.
@ChubiChL They aren't scared and freaking out when they are in rodeos. They are simply doing their job, just like they do when they're playing horseball, trek, dressage, racing, or any other equestrian activity. People misunderstand rodeo so much, and it is downright annoying when people claim it's cruel because they don't understand it. These are horses that have always bucked and loved doing it. They dont' buck for the same reason your saddle horses do.
too anyone worried about the spurs, just wanted to let you know, spurs will only hurt the horse if used incorrectly, on the other hand, these riders are using to correct kind of spurs and in the correct way, if they werent, the rider would not be allowed to mount the horse or would be excluded from all rodeos for a certain period of time. i am not looking for an arguement so please dont reply to this comment to tell me im wrong, thankyou.
@horsieproductionss What are you talking about? I just went through how good these horses are treated. I can go on further on how they are treated much better than other horses if you'd like.
It's simply to keep the motion straight and more clean. If a horse is kicking wildly and in all different directions, it makes it easier for the horse to hurt him/herself. It's simply for the safety of the horse.
I love it when people think their horse "wants" to do something. What it wants is to be out eating grass! There is a reason you have to "train" them to ride for you.
@msjumpingqueenful 1. A cattle prod has almost no amperage, and only puts out 5,000 volts. 5,000 volts isn't even as bad as a bee sting on a human, so it would be even more mild on a horse or a bull. 2. Because there is no amperage, there is no burn, so it's not even permanent "damage." 3. Your average police tazer puts out 50,000 volts and quite a bit of amperage. So there is a HUGE difference between a cattle prod and a tazer.
@msjumpingqueenful Those 100 horses you're talking about died during the Calgary Stampede. They were being led across a bridge, and it collapsed. The contractor was crying during the interview because he loved them all so much and couldn't finish the interview. These horses love what they do. They aren't forced to buck at all, and for the LAST GOD DAMN TIME, WE DON'T USE TAZERS. IT'S CALLED A CATTLE PROD. GET IT RIGHT.

@AnimalLeftist No one ever said a horse opening its mouth meant they were happy. I said it was so they could breath. It's intense work for 8 seconds, then they sit in pens and pastures or in horse trailers. Horses pant after being worked. It doesn't mean they need to be sent to a vet... the horses end up fine. There are horses that buck for over 30 years, that have their mouth open while working and so on. Pretty sure if they lived 30 years, they weren't treated like shit.

If you watch, the horse's ears are almost never pinned, they are not in physical pain and if you were to watch a full ride including the aftermath, you'd see that the horse stops bucking almost every time, there are horses that keep bucking but every horse is different, it really does depend on if they were trained gently or abusively
I am not saying that every one of these horses are treated well, yes, there are some really abusive and terrible ways that rodeos run their bucking animal events, but thats not what all rodeos do, there is a way that you can train the animal to buck without being abusive
My last point is that at my local rodeo, they do not tighten the bucking straps to where it physically is causing pain to the animal, they tighten it to where is causes just enough discomfort to wear the animal will buck, in a lot of the pbr or nra rodeos they do tighten them to tight (in my opinion) also at my rodeo if you are caught using any form of electrocution on the animal you will be banned (i beleive that is the rule), so yes there are very abusive and wrong ways that these animals are run, but there are plenty of ways to make the event much easier and gentle on the animal, and no, i am not saying that it is a completely non abusive sport, no matter what you do in rodel there will be an aspect that somebody will find abusive and that often times is true.
This makes me sad!😢😭
Thank you!
Yay! Finally someone with enough sense to research the subject at hand and come up with their own opinion! :D
Alexei Strife
And I could look up dressage riders using Rollkur and get the same result.
He's a circuit cowboy, so he hasn't been around as much as a lot of other guys, but you're right, he is really good.
Ive rodeoed all my life and i can promise anyone that these animals are in better care than any other animal in the world the stock contractors spend more money on these animals than yall can ever make in your lives so i wouldnt talk shit.
AHHAHAAHAH. Go look at SHARK Rodeo Cruelty, dipshit.
NO THEY ARE NOT AND THIS IS PROVEN . yet more lies and propaganda by paid rodeo shills. the abuse and treatment of these animals has been exposed countless times by by animal activist orgs, that are fighting to end animal abuse for profit and sport. the evidence collected over the years proves you WRONG, VIDEO EVIDENCE COLLECTED OVER THE YEARS BY SHARK AND OTHER SHOWS HOW BADLY THESE HORSES ARE ABUSE AND TORTURED AND ILLEGALLY INTO BUCKING, FURTHER EVIDENCE EXPOSES THE CORRUPTION IN THESE ABUSIVE RODEO'S AND REPEATED ATTEMPTS IN COVERING UP THESE ABUSES.
I love me a good rodeo. Not the biggest fan of Saddle Bronc Riding it just doesn't interest me too much, but I still love it.
COOKIESY11 Rodeo is abuse
I SAW THE TAZER.
Nolan Gillies Keep in doing this and you will have the RSPCA
and just a little FYI, most bucking horses are actually mares also. There's a few geldings, and studs are used sometimes, but the majority are mares.
Hamster Munchies True
It happens outside of competitions too
EquestrianEquitation id
They’re fucking horses.”ANIMALS.” There shouldn’t be any fucking sadddles on them 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
True and where do you think they are when not being ridden? in a pasture relaxing.
I'm so pissed at people who think they know everything about rodeo I bet you don't know anything he back to the mall
Dizzy Girl123 We know its abuse.
Mad Melody did you forget that horses are fucking animals they shouldn’t even have anything on them at all(saddles, spurs, etc)🤦♂️

I truly don't understand how people find this entertaining. All I see is a terrified horse being tormented. It's just wrong.
@louisamusic01 Yes they do. It's an essential part of training. Horse doesn't just let you ride it the first time you get on its back.
I'm just asking how can a horse enjoy that?
the video is cool
Derrick Martin this video is not "cool" this is animal abuse
Phoebe Goodey yed absolutely Derrick is probably a kid who has no idea what he is watching, don't waste your time on people like that.
Yeah.... I feel so bad for them... :( Me and friend watched this together and we were like: "OMG POOR HORSES!!!" D:
Derrick Martin its not cool its abuse.
They say they love the horses but look what the do!!!!!!!!!!!! They kill them.
Why is this called "Horsetv" if you could call it: "Horseabusetv"
Because it's not abuse
@@matthewgarnes8090 Would you like it when there is an rope pulled on your crotch? No i dont think so, these horses buck becouse their being hit, schoked with tazers, and abused. He isnt a good rider he just has strong arms and legs to hold on the poor horse🙄
Too bad your user-name tells me everything I need to know about you.
It improves the horses bucking. The flank strap gets the horses to kick out more than they would normally
if those horses would kick its front leg with the back he can't walk and then u just ruined a horse
That literally never happens
If you've trained horses to buck, obviously broncs can be trained too. The flank strap is used as the command to buck. They're trained so that when it's on and they're in the open, they buck.
rodeo riding is f****ing shit because the horses aren't happy when a person ride on him
@BlackWaterRaven the spurs dont hurt at all they are just used as grip like tread on your tyres
Robert .franklin if you kick a horse while riding with spurs it hurts them A LOT
ENDING THIS TO REIGHLEIGH LINK
...
Violet Sleepywall I finally know I’m not the only person here because of her!
Nobody wants that."
That's a blatant lie!
Thank you, you are so true and right
These people don't deserve horses
These horses are bred to buck. It's what they do naturally when something gets on their back. The strap on the back is only tight enough to keep the saddle from slapping up and down or sliding off when they buck. A lot of western riders use them, like cattle and cutting, reiners, pole benders, and barrel racers.
and i am a horse lover soo x] i just speak my mind :P i rescue horses and if you have a problem of what i think to say... then u have issues cause what i say is true ^_^

Zach Martinez Well I don’t one good ass reason is because it’s ABUSE
Bobbi van Olst Yes it’s a very special one called ‘Abuse’
I agree with you too. I don't like the hot shot at all. Even though it causes no damage, I just hate electricity running through my body! The stock contractor I work with has an alternative way of getting horses out that don't leave the chute. When it happens, we run a neck rope around the horse, and we ride the gate and pull the horse out of the chute and usually that works just as well, with less 'shock factor' for the horse. It just requires more physical labor, which is fine by me.
That's horrible how could you treat horses like that !!!!
The horses you're seeing aren't broken yet, so they'll buck like there's no tomorrow whenever they have a rider on them.
they go to the kill pens, no one is going to feed them past work age
@@marylouhamilton6273 Damn, I guess all of the ex bucking horses I've seen out at pasture were just mirages then.
Someday I hope to buy rodeo horses and never take them to rodeos again.
There not abused
Matthew Garnes OMFG YES THEY ARE!!!!!
@aztib They'll buck without the flank strap. They're trained to buck. However, the flank strap just straightens the motion.
Omg them poor horses
Chloe Cook hola mija
The spurs are to help you get a better hold of the horse. It helps quite a bit in keeping someone on the horse.
How the hell can people like rodeo? Its hurts the horse -.-
Also, the shock devices used are not tazers.
Poor horses , I have a have a HORSE so I know they can't buck on command . This is pure animal cruelty :(
Chloe Elias these horses are trained from birth to buck
nope. ALL horses will buck. Flank straps make them buck.
They use a strap pulled tight across their flanks and around their "tickle spot" to make them buck; it goes back to the instincts of the horses as the flanks are where their predators would attack them.
GAACRLON They are tased and also most of the horses that preform aren’t bred for this
@ridingismylife558 In a way, bronc riding is working with the horse. You have to be totally in sync with every move the horse is making, and you're letting the horse do it's own thing. You aren't leading it or anything. If you aren't in sync and making good time, you usually end up in the dirt.
STOP WILD HORSE RACE
No
Cole McCue First yes because this is the reason why huge amounts of horses die a year and secondly, these horses are not wild they are neglected and abused

@AnimalLeftist It's not given a yank. There is a TON of slack in that latigo on the flank strap. It also loosens as the horse bucks.

irishpubcrawler OMG I said before they are being abused by,kicking, smacking, and most of all TASED!These are not wild horses they are abused and neglected horses
The bloodlines have been established for a long time. They've bred horses that had a history of bucking for a long time, and it's just a simple process of evolution and what not. Genetics. They're also trained in it when they're about five years ol. They're awesome horses.
This is wrong to do

TexanHick01 oh so you wouldt worry when someone sits on you kicks you they whip you they spur you.your such a idiot.
Creeker Oh ok I will that most horses deaths are caused by this
As do I, especially the broncs under my care. Sometimes a little TLC is all a horse or any animal needs.
schrecklich😠
Da muss ich dir recht geben das ist schlimm
Scott keogh is from qld Australia, didn't expect that lol
- cheers from qld, au :D
@aztib All the flank strap does is tell the horse it's time to buck. It's just a sensitive spot on the horse. It's the equivalent of the human waist.
No it's not. It's one of the greatest sports there is. These horses are treated so well!
I see no cruelty here. Ride on boys.
LOL we all love you in the rodeo crowd
@RodeoCowBoy117 what was your the best bronc you ever rode on? and have you been to any of the Sankey Rodeo Schools?
It's simply to keep the motion straight and more clean. If a horse is kicking wildly and in all different directions, it makes it easier for the horse to hurt him/herself. It's simply for the safety of the horse.
to start a horse out you need encouragement but after awhile it gets the point.
GET IT RIGHT.
am not looking for any mean comments am a horserider myself... but i am not a fan of rodeo how would you feel wearing a tight belt around you stomach and pinching you and causeing you discomfort and also have a full grown man bashing his spurs into you!..
It is for grip and for bareback riders it helps them throw there feet back.
i've alwaysed dreamed of riding a bronc
