She’s a natural center- she proved the haters wrong! She caught my eye when I wasn’t interested in Kpop in her Very Very Very performance bc I was drawn to her stage presence and facial expressions.

My first listen was actually Secret Story of the Swan as it just so happens I gained interest right when they had their comeback stage! And the song kept playing in my head so I dove deep into the elegant world of IZ*ONE in 2020. All because Wonyoung just happened to catch my eye.

She will be 18 this year, which is kinda an adult. I know the hate will die down once she’s in her twenties, which is not too far away from now. I feel like “kpop fans” attack young successful idols, out of jealousy. And it’s sad.

I liked Izone but only because of Sakura and Wonyoung. Producers did Sakura bad. Though I liked Wonyoung but I felt she was over rated. Even in Ive she is given more priority than others I can see that in MVs, shows dressing etc. It's really unfair. Even the popularity of Ive it's because of her. Producers are really bad. They are exploiting Wonyoung. It would have been better if Wonyoung was in ITZY or Aespa.
Basically, she's so successful and one of a kind that it drives people mad and they want to have something to hate her for.

Ehm I just came to this vid after watching kdrama named Sh**ting stars. I recommend it to everyone. And why? Because thanks to this drama I realized what was happening behind the scandals. Not only the artist suffers from public hate but also the company who cleans this mess and also the journalists(they are pressured sometimes from public and in result they feed the netizens with what they want, some articles doesn't contain fact-checked information sometimes.) People judge too quickly with just speculations, even if it clicks that it may be true its never a fact until its confirmed. Now lets talk about the nationality. Well even tho she can be Taiwanese it doesn't mean that she has to speak Chinese or behave like Taiwanese people, I am from Vietnam but I live in Europe(both of my parents are Vietnamese) but I don't speak Vietnamese and don't follow the traditions. But it still doesn't matter what nationality she is since it's her personal thing, they are still human with rights to have their personal information in secret. And I wouldn't necessarily blame the company for faking their height, age or nationality. About their behaviour- like I said many times they are human, if you didn't know, we are moody, we can be angry, happy, sad and rude, thats what describes humanity, just because she's rolling her eyes or looks like shes giving bad attitude towards her members it doesn't mean shes judging or hating them.
For my last words I would like to say DO NOT JUDGE SO QUICKLY, DON'T SPREAD UNCHECKED INFORMATION and BE HUMBLE AND ACCEPT BAD THINGS. You did some bad things too, but does milion of people hate you or spread false rumours about you? Put yourself in their shoes.

Okay but the hate Tzuyu got wasn’t from Korean netizens , I’m pretty sure most of that hate came from that small population of Chinese citizens who thinks Taiwan is apart of China, I even read that the Taiwanese President even said she did nothing wrong. I'm going to be honest at first I really hated her, at first I didn't really know why but after her being in IVE and started getting more hate for the simplest things. I started to reflect why I hated her so much and it was because I was jealous she was everything I want to be. But now I admire her more then ever and I respect her so much, I honestly hope other can open their eyes to how great of a person she really is.

I was oblivious to 4th gen kpop not until I became interested with IVE last year. The first thing I heard about Wony is that she's most hated. The more I watch IVE contents though I couldn't believe why she gets that hate, she's the sweetest girl out there. I really hope she stays strong and healthy, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
I just always thought she’s very awkward and doesn’t know how to behave in certain situations or most of them and therefore she’s misunderstood as rude. And because she’s pretty and been put in the centre of the spotlight since who knows when it just makes it worse. (cuz like same like im so socially awkward when around a lot of people)

I can't really hate most K-pop Idols cuz I don't know enough about their real personality cuz most stuff I see is the artificial outside perspective of them. So everyone has the benefit of the doubt when they act somehow mean or whatever but most shitstorms are just jealous and hateful netizens so I mostly feel bad for them always having to walk on eggshells. That's why I won't even judge them if they act fake or overly nice ...I can totally understand them for often seeming artificial. It's safer to not show too much real personality or share too many real opinions and viewpoints with the public. Their public image seems so fragile cuz extreme netizens are always ready to spread hate and to assassinate someone's character.

There is pretty privilege but also there horrible treatment of beautiful people like Wonyoung, she is hated purely for being breathe taking as she contributes to her popularity. It’s her companies and stylists fault for making her have the most activities and dressing her to stand out more. She gets so much hate for things that really aren’t her fault, and she works hard to prove herself yet people ignore it to just hate on her. She has spoken on the hate in passing and how it hurts her. She has improved a lot and works a lot to help promote her group, and if you know the schedules of idols who do that many activities, you would know how exhausting it is.
Notice how the article claiming her was half Taiwanese focused on the fact that she is pretty and acting as if because she is pretty, they want to claim her as one of their people? Very suspicious.
Also the hate she got for the last comeback for simply… *HAVING GREAT STAGE PRESENCE* ? Ugh, disgusted me. If she didn’t do that people would call her lazy, and because she used her facial expressions and went hard on the dance moves to prove her worth in the group, she ended up getting hate anyways. About Wangyong's nationality - this is something complicated which you didn't get the whole story. Her DAD is a Chinese-Korean who lived in Korea either his whole life but has Chinese citizenship. However, before 1949, that is the citizenship of ROC. Since they are ethnic Chinese, hey are not considered Korean and isn't allowed Korean passport, so after 1949 they still have ROC passport which is now in Taiwan, but China has become commie PRC. Wangyong is a second-gen Chinese Korea who was born in Korea, so she has a Korean passport but since her dad is ROC citizen she can always get a ROC passport whenever her parents wanted. This is why her name is spelled this way - NOT using Hanyu Pinyin of the PRC, but of the WG system of the ROC - her last name is spelled Zhang in China, but Chang in Taiwan, while it's Jang in Korean. She romanization of her last name told the real story, and that's why PD48 has to remove it ASAP. She must have had a ROC passport, before, and then got a Korean one when it became an issue during PD48. Many Koreans discriminate against Chinese-Koreans just like how Korean-Japanese holds Korean passport and discriminated in Japan. She has now completely hidden her ROC background and presented herself as full Korean for her career sake. That's fine, since she has Korean mother she does have that choice. But again, the complexity of this is beyond what a foreigner or even ordinary Korean can understand. She and her dad is a citizen of a country she probably never been to. She is NOT from Taiwan - her dad is a citizen of the Republic of China in Taiwan, but neither of them has ever lived in Taiwan. Many such Ethnic Chinese ended up living in Taiwan and speaks Chinese - but still ID themselves as Koreans. Wangyong will probably never do that now since she was forced to give up the identify of her father, because of the discrimination and hate from Korean netizens.

Actually no. She gets hate from netizens started because she debuted so young. Netizens have always have issues with idols debuting at such a young age. Instead of them being mad at the companies (and even parents) for debuting these young idols they get mad and send hate the idols themselves which is really sad. @@sabya2146 u are right, 95% of the time it was edited to make her look bad but 5% of the time it was her actions that cause the misunderstanding. Coming from a former person who use to really dislike wony (dislike not hate, i nvr hated on her), after observing her for the past 4 years (I AM A STAN NOW LOL SHE IS MY ULT BIAS IN THE WHOLE OF KPOP), she does have a few misleading actions such as:
1) Habit to roll her eyes - cuz by dry eyes + contacts, truth to be told lots of ppl have this problem. And believe it or not but at the WRONG angle at the WRONG TIME, this can look really wrong and she became victim of getting hate for "rolling" her eyes at ppl.
2) Crossing her arms - to be HONEST, i didnt like her at first because she gave me a very cold and "arrogant" vibe because of this, it does make her appear to hv some sort of "attitude" but i recently made a friend who is always doing this too and when i ask her about it she say its because she has such long limbs so its kinda awkward swinging them around when she is walking + its easier to walk with arms crossed for her. We all have different preferences in the way we carry ourselves. And this applies to the way we eat as well. Everyone eats differently n enjoys their food differently so who r we to tell others that eating food with two hands is wrong while eating food with one hand is correct?
3) Pouting, winking too much etc etc - I gonna be really honest.. When i first see her on produce, i cringe everytime she does this. But now, i just brush it off even tho sometimes i still cant stand it. We gotta rmb, not everyone is built the same. Just because majority of us have a natural friendly smiling face it doesn't mean everyone enjoy this kind of privilege. Some ppl have a serious rbf and its not their fault that they are born this way, they can be feeling happy and ppl would ask them "Why do u look so mad?" even when they ain't doing anything. Their resting face just looks cross 24/7 even when they are not and having observe her for the past 4 years, i realise that she does have this problem. When she doesn't smile she srsly looks very cold and unapproachable. And i am sure she knows it too, like everyone around her prob tells her that, esp the company. And being an idol, u HAVE to appear approachable and friendly to the public if not they will tag u as "unpleasant, cold, ice princess, arrogant, attitude problem etc". So even tho we can't relate or understand, try to know that there is always two sides of the story and there is always a reason why ppl do what they did. And having to constantly take note of your image to appear cute and be someone that doesn't really reflect the smart, reserved, non-aegyo type her true nature is honestly is alot more tiring for her. Thats some real effort and dedication, i couldn't appreciate it in the past because i couldn't see it but now, i could and i love her so so much for it. Thats REAL effort right there and i really admire her and respect her for it. Not every idol is willing to take that extra mile and put in that extra effort because just thinking about it sounds tiring already... some idols will just go fk it and dc. Even if they choose to do that, we should respect them for it because everyone have a right to decide how they want to appear in the public's eyes.

Why does Wonyoung get so much hate? Because a large portion of Kpop fans are 13-15 year old girls. At first when WonYoung was in IZ*ONE I didn’t really like her and sometimes found her annoying. But never judge a book by its cover, after she debuted in IVE, I watched their vlogs and realized she’s actually a very sweet and hard-working person and now she’s definitely one of my biases! Whatever the haters do is not gonna affect her instead she will get even more popular because of them lol!

However when being a K-pop fan and your favorite group disbands but member or members are still active you will want to know what is going on with there life. So wonyoung was already popular even before she joined I’ve which is what happend in the first place. They reprimand her for absolutely nothing
Section 4 (mistreatment from the media) wonyoung doesn’t deserve any mean comments given to her. I will say it again she did not choose this life this was never mentioned in her plan in the first place. And also when dealing with a controversy pretty much everyone sided with the media. Compared to other members like REI she was highly defended by almost everyone but when it’s comes to wonyoung nobody cared. Poor wonyoung is just trying to do her job but the media hates her for it. The only explanation I can find for Wonyoung's "fake" and "cocky" personality is that she acts like this because she knows she has to look pretty and cute. All idols have to do that, even though many don't. It's their job, they don't choose to do it. I know that Wonyoung and other idols can cringe sometimes, but they surely have to. Their agencies might call them out on that, no matter how insignificant it may be. In short, Wonyoung doesn't deserve all the hate she receives.
