What you need to understand is the Born Again Christian perspective. My background - before becoming a Muslim - was exactly the same as Yusha Evans and from the sounds of it.... probably the same as David "Rotten" Wood. The B.A.C. point of view (based on biblical teaching) is that Jesus, the Son of God, who IS God... took on the filth and shame of sin (as the sacrificial Lamb) on the cross. The final and only sacrifice for the forgiveness of all sins. Past, Present and Future. That's the Christian message... That God... who is Almighty, Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent; who sits on the Throne, who created everything, was not created etc etc..... completely humbled himself and came to earth as a man.... not a King.... just a man... and took our burden of sin and gave up his life for mankind to ransom us. Beautiful story, Amazing story, Moving story..... but here's the thing... When I first realised last year that that's ALL it was.... a story. For many and various reasons (Council of Nicea, Holy wars, Political and Power Struggles etc) the "Truth" became distorted.... and while it remains an incredible idea to get your head around, that GOD would humiliate himself in this way for us... It just isn't true. This was what really took me a long time to let go of and for many reverts like me who came to Islam... this will have been the biggest thing to let go of. I never had a problem with the Trinity... God is God and as far as I was concerned he was outside of the Space/Time continuum so therefore could DO and BE anything, right? ....No for me it was the proof read clearly by a brother at Speakers Corner (always in a white cap, red beard, I think he's either from or lived in Wales for a bit) who laid out the truth of the putting together of the King James Bible who finally convinced me that the Prophet Isa was indeed an amazing prophet born of a virgin.... but he was NOT the son of God therefore he did not have the ability to die for the sins of anyone. This pretty much kicks a revert in the gut... even if he/she had not been following the faith of their formative years... and it should... it should definitely hurt because the transition from thinking you knew Truth to actually finding TRUTH really ought to be mind blowing and to be honest, a bit scary.... otherwise it's just not deep, not real or sincere enough to completely change your life. So what am I saying? Just this.... David Wood is still holding on to a wonderful spectacular storyvdo tread carefully when you discuss people like this... How they feel is deep and anything that goes against it is 100% wrong as far as they are concerned. If anyone wants to sincerely challenge them... From all the comments i have read here, yours is the only one that makes more sense in that you, unlike other muslims who miss represent the christian message by telling lies, understand that God can humble Himself by putting His glory and majesty aside in order to save His people from the bondage of sin. I respect you for at least understanding the christian message and being honest about it. There is a difference between unstanding the christian message and believing it, and when it comes to understanding and believing the christian message, I would group people into 4 categories: there are some who do not understand the christian message but still believe it; there are those who do not understand the christian message and thus do not believe it; there are those who, even though they understand the christian message, but still do not believe it; there are those who understand the christian message and believe it. You fall in the third category..you understand the christian message but do not believe it, which is fine and fair enough. What I hate about those other muslims is the fact that they tend to spread lies about what they true christian message is. For example, they would say that the christian message is that God had sex with Mary to have a son or that God can only have a son by having sex, something that's absolutely not what the christian message is. I was a muslim before. I understand the islamic version of salvation but I don't believe it because it does not add up. I don't think that God can compromise His nature of being The Most Just and being The Most Merciful and Loving. And, for God to reconcile His nature of being The Most Just and The Most Merciful and Loving, the price of every single sin has to be paid. And, when you think of that price that can free all mankind from the bondage of every single sin committed from the time of Adam and Eve to now and the future and up to the end of time, you will realize that such a price has to be a very big one. And that price can only be God Himself for only He can save the whole of mankind. This is the very reason why the christian version of salvation makes absolute sense to me and that's why today I am a christian. As a muslim, I had no problem with the idea that God died on the cross for sins. I know muslims see the idea that God died to be absurd. But by definition, if God cannot die and get his life back, or if God cannot control the universe when he is dead, then He is not God. It makes sense for humans to die and not able to become alive again or rule the world while they are daed; the reason for that is simple...they are just humans and not God. God can do anything because He is God. So, it's those muslims who should see themselves absurd for putting human limitations on God Almighty. The islamic version of salvation that God can just forgive whom He wills ( because they repent) without a price being paid for the sins committed contradicts God's nature of being The Most Just and The Most Merciful and Loving. If an earthly judge can punish people who contravene the laws (either knowingly or unknowingly) to uphold justice, how much more is God? Is an earthly judge more just than God? Absolutely NO! For this reason I can never be a muslim.

Here's the problem, this contraducts the old testament which Christians believe Jesus inspired. Hebrews 10:10 and 10:18 say By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (Hebrews 10:10) Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin. (Hebrews 10:18) also says that there does not need to be a sacrifice because Jesus was the last sacrifice but Ezekiel states that when the messiah comes he will reinstate sacrifice to the Israelites and according to Christians Jesus authored both On that day the Prince is to provide a bull as a sin offering for himself and for all the people of the land. Ezekiel 45:22
