Good detail, especially comparison to stock. Helps to learn about the components as well as getting them installed. Appreciate it.
No problem and thanks for watching. More coming soon.
Good explanation. This would look so good with a CF engine cover
thats the closed dinan air intake system right? not the semi closed
Looks so fire bro 😤
Appreciate it man
Just did this install. Gotta say those dinan clips are a PAIN
@kern417 Love the videos. I've learned quite a bit and you've got skills above the average DIYer that's for sure. Quick question. Did you use the BMW filter with the Dinan box or did you replace it with the Dinan cone filter? Thanks.
Nice bro.👍
@kern417 did you run logs for the air temps with this intake? I ran MST for few months but went back to stock and now thinking of trying this one out. I found the MST introduced more lag on the lower end spool, wonder if this one has the same effect. The stock box seems more responsive because of the closed design i think?
Yes but I didn't really see a difference. So I sold it and went back to stock
@@kern417 How come you sold it? planning on buying one for my 2022 M340
question I've heard people relating to the changing of the air intake tubing size around the maf sensor. people are saying the sensor can only accurately read the correct amount of air coming in when the piping size around the maf sensor area is of stock size. they are saying other areas of the tube can be larger or the filter can be freer flowing and thats fine but that messing with the tubing around the maf sensor results in incorrect readings to the ecu without the maf being recalibrated for a larger tube. is that true or just bs? lol cause Im now on the fence about just getting a drop in or getting something that doesn't mess with the tubing size around the maf area
It is true but I'm learning more and more of that the sensor on our cars isn't used for much. Newer cars don't even have a MAF anymore.
@@kern417is the Dinan air box perform the same as stock box??
Great videos! I have a 17 440ix and I have a couple of questions. If it’s ok, what would be the best way?
Instagram @kern417
Hey man who you be able to do some work on a '13 X5?
since you bought it used do you still qualify for the 3 DINAN points towards the badge?
Dude idk.
Yes, once you apply for a badge you just need to send a pic of it on the car with proof its your car so like a drivers license or something in the pic
I heard the MST has better performance gains, is this true?
They all perform similarly
Hi that's so cool
Is it fit to g32 640igtxdrive?
No it doesn't, only F2x and F3x
Nice Video!
Just wondering if this fits the M140i with b58 engine? the dinan website does not include the M140i in the description
Yes it will fit
How long does it take dinan to ship, my order says pending shipment
You'll need to reach out to them directly
I ordered mine on March 30th, and it Barely was sent yesterday. They were back ordered.
@@HyperE36M3 i had canceled my order, these cars dont really need filter on stock turbo
Can you make a sound video?
I don't have it anymore. It was a little louder than stock, especially with the windows down.
@@kern417 Why'd you remove it? Go with something else or back to stock?
Look at my latest videos haha
But yes at the time I went back to stock. No noticeable gains in my testing
@@kern417 With the stock intake do you run the oem filter or an upgraded one like K&N or aFe?
do you need to reflash, or will you still get gains
You don't need a flash and it doesn't really make any power
Sound any different?
Slightly more turbo whistle, but not much. My downpipe made the biggest difference.
why dont you install the eventuri ?
It's a waste of money
@@kern417 If that makes you feel better,.. 😅
$1000+ for an intake that doesn't perform better than stock is pretty self-explanatory
@@kern417 I dont know bout you but we Germans got +20 hp out of it
I don't know about you but Pure is running 700+hp out of the stock airbox
Over priced. Doesn’t sound good. Might as well just put a drop in performance filter. If you guys want a semi closed Intake that sounds good look up MST performance
Thats why you buy used
kern417 even used it doesn’t compare to other j takes for the b58. It’s in closed so you don’t hear any difference. The MST is semi in closed allowing the sounds to be heard.
The MST intake is expensive as well and won't sound any different.
@@kern417 mst sound amazing bro
@@justinnguyen7199 i believe it
