Here's Elle Davisson performing Pepe Romero's arrangement of the second movement, "Andante Moderato" from Joaquin Rodrigo's "Sonata Giocosa". Elle recorded this piece on a 2003 Jean-Noel Rohe classical guitar made with spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides. Recorded at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.

I love her tone. Not that the guitar isn't important but I feel that a guitarist at this level sounds like themselves on most anything and I love her dynamics and the unique tone generated by her nimble fingers. Bravo! I also enjoyed the piece with its many influences. I heard things that reminded me of Bach, Spain, the Middle East, Lutes, Bossa Nova chords, harmonic minor modes resolving into or from surprising 3s. It seems simple but it ties so many different things together with it's progression and modulations. Really cool.
