Wow. Five years ago. Five years ago I was starting out as a freshman in high school-shy and scared, nervous and depressed. You and Christine helped me get my mind off the awful people I had to deal with on the daily. Thank you.
Cool video! My most owned auto-buy author is Rick Riordan as well (I own 15 books by him! Yikes!)
Woo, that's a lot! Do you have his adult books??
No, he has a lot of little not really important tie-ins for PJO and everything that I bought when I was younger. :P Have a nice night!
Not true, the tie ins are semi-important and referenced in Blood of Olympus.
I guess that's true. Mostly just the Demigod Files though...
Lol, just counted, I have 27 Rick Riordan.
My tbr pile reaches the ceiling, and every single time I watch one of your videos there are more books that I need in my life! If no one hears from me, I've been trapped under an avalanche of books!
Same with me for Louise Rennison! I own almost all of the GN series and I'm never ever giving them away, but I really haven't kept up with her newer series.
Pretty sure I picked up one of the Midnighters books out of order, but it was pretty dang good.
I think my most owned auto-buys would be Jackson Pearce, Maureen Johnson, John Green, Nina LaCour, and Maggie Stiefvater. If a series has a lot of books (lookin' at you Cassandra and Rick) I tend to borrow them from the library unless I'm getting the book signed.
I LOVE THE HEROES OF OLYMPUS
what comes to mind for me which I'll just give a few lol..Richelle Mead..Laurell K Hamilton..Dean Koontz...Patricia Briggs..L.J. Smith..Kelley Armstrong..John Green..Charlaine Harris..Cassandra Clare :)
The Erin Hunters have 99 books published (and more coming) and they are an Auto-buy for me so they would be on the top of my list.
Here's my top 7 most owned auto-buy authors:
1. Tamora Pierce- song of the Lioness Quartet, The Protector the Small Quartet, The Immortals Quartet, the Trickster’s duology, The Circle of Magic Quartet, The Circle Opens Quartet and the Will of the Empress=23 BOOKS
2. Cate Tiernan= The entire Sweep series in five bind-up editions, the entire Bale fire series in one bind-up edition, and the Immortal Beloved Trilogy=9 physical copies but actually 22.
3. Cassandra Clare-all six Mortal Instruments books, all three Infernal Devices books, The Shadowshunter’s Codex and Shadowhunters and Downworlders=11 (I also have the Magnus Bane Chronicles preordered, and the Iron Trial is SOOO at the top of my wishlist)
4. Stephanie Meyer- The entire Twilight series, including the Short Second Life of Bree Tanner and I have two editions of New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn, and also two editions of the Host=not counting multiple editions, 6. Counting multiple editions, 10.
5. Richelle Mead- The entire Vampire Academy series, and the first four Books in the Bloodlines Series=10 (I also have Silver Shadows Preordered)
6. Julie Kagawa- All the Iron Fey books, including the Call of the Forgotten, and the first two books in the Blood of Eden Series=8 books (as soon as the last BoE book comes out in paperback, it’s mine. Also, Talon is towards the top of my wishlist.)
7. Rick Riordan- All five PJO books and the first three HoO books=8 books
I really enjoyed this video! It is also really refreshing to hear someone say they are excited to pick up a finished copy even though they have a copy of the ARC. Keep rocking on Kat!
Rick Riordan takes up the most on my shelves.. 11 and counting
Hopppppeerrrr!😄😂
You've peaked my curiosity on Riordan. I just ordered the Kane trilogy. Can't wait for them to arrive! New subscriber, by the way.
I absolutely love how you have clips at the end of your videos now!!
I just discovered your channel about a week ago when i was looking for writing tips, there arent many channels like yours (dedicated to books) Absolutely love it :D
What a fantastic collection of every author. Now I have a complete knowledge of each book of these fantastic authors. Just great!!
She sounds like a cartoon character, i love her hahaha
I love watching your videos and this one was particularly enjoyable. I am so jelly of you for owning so many books (in the good way that only book lovers can understand) and love that you included Rick Riordan, John Green, and several other of my favorites.
I fell inlove with your shelf. LOOK AT THOSE BOOKS!
I feel the pull towards my shelves and the need to count my books and authors. Great video!
Your shelves are eye candy. Love the video!:)
I figured Richelle Mead would be among the list?
Not quite, I only have the Vampire Academy books--still need to get into Bloodlines!
***** you have to read the succubus blues series too! It's her adult paranormal series and its awesome!!!
YOUR HAIR IS SO GORGEOUS
My most owned auto-buy is JKR with a whopping 35 books. I have 29 various editions of HP (I've started collecting as many versions as I can), Fantastic Beasts, Quidditch through the ages, the tales of beetle the bard, the casual vacancy, and the 2 Robert Galbraith books. The collection keeps on growing! And I still need to buy the newish paperback boxset!
Meg Cabot used to be my number one auto-buy author, and I own 16 of her books, but then, life moved on and I began discovering other books and authors and I haven't bought any of her books in a long, long while
Your hair looks awesome Kat! This "most owned authors" was a fun idea for the video hahah :)
My top owned authors are Anne Rice, JK Rowling, William Shakespeare, VC Andrews (I just aged myself, but the entire collection was passed down to me from my mom), Jane Austen, JRR Tolkien, and Beth Moore.
I love the mortal instruments series
Me too!!!!
racquel daet me too
Your bookshelf is goals and I love your book taste
Sigh, I wish I had room for all those bookshelves but my tiny apartment basically only fits one. Once I get into a bigger place, I'm getting more bookshelves and books to put in them! For now, I must rely on my library.
Kat's voice sounds like the newscaster from family guy. Am I the only one who thinks this?
I saw Heist Society and Gallagher Girls on your shelf!!! I love those books!!! Great video!
This is such a good video idea! Rick Riordan is my most owned auto-buy author, followed by Cassandra Clare and Richelle Mead :)
Wow! I love your bookshelves. They are perfect. Keep up the great work.
I've been looking around for videos to inspire my 7th grade students to get into reading... I wish they would be this enthusiastic. Anyway, I enjoyed this video and have some books I may need to get for my classroom.
My most owned authors are:
1 - Rick Riordan: 12 books (percy jackson, heros of olympus, and the 3 extras: the demigod files, the demigod diaries and the ultimate guide)
2 - Cassandra Clare: 10 books (the mortal instruments, the infernal devices and the codex)
3 - C. S. Lewis: 7 books (narnia)
4 - J. K. Rowling: 7 livros (harry potter)
5 - John Green: 6 books (looking for alaska, an abundance of katherines, paper towns, the fault in our stars, will grayson will grayson and let it snow)
Wait wait wait, hold up. Holly Black is an auto buy but you don't have the spiderwick chronicles?! They were my favourite books growing up! The original Grace siblings! (Soz Thalia and Jason)
YOUR HAIR LOOKS SO GOOD
Thank you!! :)
My Top 5 most owned authors are- Robert A. Heinlein (48), Arthur C. Clarke (39), Isaac Asimov (27), Kurt Vonnegut (21), and Paul Auster (20).
And I buy anything that Paul Auster publishes. I would say the same for the others, but they have all passed on. I did pretty much read everything they published though.
I think I'm pretty tied between Sarah Dessen, Richelle Mead, and Meg Cabot. Loved the video!
because I am so AMAZED at how many books you own (I mean look at those shelves!) I wanted to know how long you've been collecting your books / how old were you when you started reading ?
I don't remember exactly how old I was when I started reading, but I was pretty young! As for collecting my books, I really started accumulating them about 8 years ago, so it's been a while! :)
I started actually reading when I was in fourth grade (although I spent my time reading twilight 7x and then the rest of the series... luckily I discovered the ya genre in mid 6th grade) and im going to be entering 9th grade now but I dnt even have half as many books as you! its crazy but I love your library, I want to have one just as big and even bigger :)
Pamela Acosta I began reading in 3rd grade (the Warriors series) but was never as serious untill 8th grade
This really made me think about which authors are on my auto buy list and there aren't many at all! Also I avoid a lot of middle grade fiction so when an author crosses over I generally don't get those. But you make me want to because it's awesome to support an author, and if I like there other stuff why wouldn't I like their middle grade fiction?
Great video! Holly Black and Scott Westerfeld are two of my favorites as well.
I wish I had your bookshelf! It is so pretty and there's so many books.
*Anything published by Kelley Armstrong*
Me: MY PRECIOUS!!!!!!!!!
I got super excited when you had to Modern Faerie series because those are my Favorite Books Ever and they don't get enough love!
OH MY GOSH! SAME WITH "Lips Touch Three Times." I've officially subscribed.
Hi Kat, I love your videos. My "Top Ten Most Owned Authors" is: Anne Rice (24), Sara Shepard (22), L. J. Smith (16), J. K. Rowling (9), Ted Dekker (8), Joseph Delaney (8), Cassandra Clare (7), Stephen King (6), Charlaine Harris (6), and Kim Harrison (6).
Made me look at my own shelves...Stephen King, Robert Jordan, James Patterson, Larry Correia, Dean Koontz are the books that keep popping up.
I have House of Night-Series at home... there are so many of them... So this would be my most own authors^^
Looking at your bookshelf gives me a mindgasm
According to my book collector software my top 3 authors are Bill Whillingham (32) David Eddings (27) and Orson Scott Card (24)
Your book balancing was on point !
As far as Cassandra Clare, you should buy the Shadowhunter's Codex. Its the handbook (with notes from Clary, Simon, and Jace, and drawings from Clary) (and a letter from Magnus)
Now I am thinking how many books I have from each authors. lol This is a great video idea.
love your bloopers at the end of your videos.
I miss you talking about Richelle Mead mostly Vampire Academy. :/ Have you read Bloodlines, the snip-off? It's awesome, I recommend!!! Great video, keep it going! Love your channel!
OMG I'M SO JEALOUS OF YOUR HAIR!
Don't forget to add Percy Jackson's Greek Gods to add to the Riordan list!
Louisa Ou or Greek heroes
I am SUPER jealous of your bookshelf!! that's what I WANT for my collection!!! :D
This such a lovely idea for a video! I def have auto-buy authors and all the books that I can own by them!!
Your makeup always look so perfect.
I'm new here but can I just say WOW you have A LOT of books! I wish I had that many
Your bookshelf is beautiful!
J.K. Rowling is my most owned author! I have everyone of her books (including the books by "Robert Galbraith")!
Omg I love the Herod of Olympus series too Kat
Awesome video, I have read all but 2 of those books and am now trying to get the Percy Jackson series in hardcover.
Loved this video!! I'll have to go through my own books and find my most owned!! (It is currently R.L. Stine but only because I bought as many as I could find when I was younger.)
Great video, and can I just say..I LOVE your hair! Gorgeous!!
Great video! I auto-buy Philippa Gregory. I currently have 19 books from her, haha! I'm not addicted, I swear...You don't have the "Shadowhunter's Codex?" I'm surprised about that one. Then you could add that to your Cassandra Clare collection.
You have great taste! I want and need to read all of those books!
Your bookshelves are so impressive!
Awesome video!
My most owned author is currently a tie between J.K. Rowling & Rick Riordan with 8 books each!
What Rick Riordan books do you have? Lol I'm trying to figure out what combo adds up to eight--do you have Kane Chronicles & PJO? If you haven't gotten around to Heroes of Olympus yet, you really must! :)
*****
I have the entire Percy Jackson set plus the companion book The Demigod Files (Which I'm counting, lol) and the first two books in The Hero of Olympus series! I plan on starting The Lost Hero by next month for sure!!
Your hair looks really nice in this video!
Definitely a great listopia! I loved Sinner. - Juhina
I have 24 Rick Riordan books
11 copies of the PJO series( Lighting thief deluxe & new covers), 3 PJO Graphic Novels, The Demigod Files and The Demigod Diaries, 5 Heroes of olympus books(SoN singed deluxe copy) 3 Kane Chronicles Trilogy. I'm 20 years old and love his books.
Really awesome video! So interesting to see all your auto-buy authors :)
John Green has two novellas published. The first is called Zombicorns and the second is the sequel to Zombicorns called The War For Banks Island. I never read then though I just searched them up on Goodreads because you said you had all of his published books, and I thought he had at least one more book published. :)
If you had the Demigod diaries, and the Demigod Files which are novellas to the PJO and HoO series' you would have 15 Rick Riordan books. Then you would get Blood of Olympus in October and likely Percy Jackson's Greek Gods in August bringing you to a total of 17 Rick Riordan books.
Richelle is my most owned books from the same author. I have 11. Cassandra Clare comes in second with 9. The way you hold up all those books looks like they weigh nothing, lol xD
Haha I was sweating by the end of the video from hauling all those books around XD Also I totally need to get into Bloodlines, then Richelle will make my list too!
I met Maggie Stiev(can't remember the spelling) got my Shiver book signed amd ahe was lovely!!
You need to buy and read J.K. Rowling's other two books-The Tales of Beedle The Bard and Quidditch Through the Ages!
Your hair is gorgeous in this video Kat
I really enjoyed this video. I love to see other people's auto-buys!
Well, in the book business as well as in the TV business, the market is divided into segments! Maturity separates HBO watchers from CW! After she turns 30 this girl will drop the John Green reading to focus more on more melancolic and darker Novelist
Is the Heroes of Olympus/Percy Jackson worth reading if you're a fan of Cassandra Clare? Is it YA, romance, action.. That's the type I like. It's just my friend was reading Percy Jackson the other day, and she was saying how she felt like a kid reading it.
They're really good books. BUT I would definitely consider it Juvie, not YA. It's one of those cusp series were some libraries/bookstores will have them shelved in Juvie and some in YA, but to me, when your main character is 17 (Like Harry Potter, Percy starts out as a tween and ages through the series) and still acts like he's 13, you're Juvie.
I'm sure I'd like them to be honest. Thank you
yah the first 5 are kinda juvie..but the newer ones I'd say YA I totes recommend them..THEY'RE AWESOME
***** I have recently finished both series, and all I can do is recommend them, so well developed characters, action and adventure, and the humor is so good, these books had me laugh out loud many times. And not to mention how much they teach you about mythology, if there was not for Percy Jackson I wouldn't know anything about it.
P.S.: I am probably very late with this comment, but I felt like I had to share that these books have improved me as a person a lot, I can appreciate a lot more things and also people.
Thanks for your comment. My birthday is coming up and I was going to ask for the books :D
DubCraft
Ohhhhh lordy I'm just as hooked on Laini Taylor. I rooted for that series from book one. *sigh* such a beautiful conclusion.
Ah cassandra is my favorite author! I love her books so much haha!
Can you review all the books by an author?? And tell us which is the best books to buy from that author? :)
YES!!!! Great idea!!!!
I'm actually planning to do this for Rainbow Rowell after I finish Landline! And maybe I'll do other authors too! If you have any suggestions, let me know :)
I love her voice
Can you do a kinda review of the whole Harry potter series like tell us which is your favorite with spoilers!!!
Ooh that might be fun! I've been meaning to reread the series anyways... :)
Hehe... I have the Daughter of Smoke and Bone books signed by Laini because she came to my town in the UK.
Kat you're inspiring me to film another booktalk on my main channel...
Omg, you got The Iron Trials!!
always entertaining. tells you about some great stories. most for folks under 30.
P.S I LOVE the way you say Rick Riordan's name. Here in Australia, we say Reerdin. Shut up - we're a colony, no one said we speaker the good English.
THANK GOD. I thought I was the only person with Faults in out Star paperback and audio-book. XD
Jk rowling, lemony snicket rick riordan and cs lewis are probably my most owned authors
Idk if you're sick or not, but your voice sounds a little different here and it's adorable!
