Lemony Snicket is DEFINITELY an auto buy for me.
"It's a given, oh shi--" BEST.
My heart nearly stopped after you almost dropped your Harry Potter box set! My most owned authors are Richelle Mead (with 12), Cassandra Clare (with 9), Rick Riordan (10!) JK Rowling (8. Harry Potter and the Cuckoo's Calling) Agatha Christie (12) and the grand winner is this children's author called Jacqueline Wilson and I have 14 books by her (but I bought a lot of them years ago when I was a kid)!!
I loved your videos before but now with that backround is perfection
gosh, your harry potter collection book covers are gorgeous.
Great list!!!! I was so stoked when you said Libba Bray! Love her books!
Wow! You introduced me to a lot of new books. My auto buy author when I was younger was Sarah Dessen, only recently am I getting back into buying books, so I have a variety of authors right now.
I just love the way you talk. And the way you move things around. Haven't read a single book in your list! wonder why.
What a great idea for a video! I want to do one of these!
Jellicoe Road is stunning! I cannot wait to watch your review of that book.
Melina Marchetta is my favorite author all her books are so magical and fantastic 😭😭 I'm so happy you mentioned her!
I've never read any of Melina Marchetta's fantasy novels but Looking For Alibrandi was my favourite book growing up and I still love it. The best part about this video was watching you try to balance holding all of those books at once
My most owned author is Cassandra Clare, which is no surprise because she is like the Queen of YA.
I've never read The Series of Unfortunate Events.
Great video! As all my books are back in Australia, the authors I have a lot of books by (from memory) are : Jodi Picoult (everyone she has written), Nicholas Sparks, Paige Toon, Paullina Simons, Belinda Alexandra. All I can remember at the moment!
I have 15 of Rick's books o_o The nine that you have, the 3 books in the kane chronicles, the demigod diaries, the ultimate guide and the demigod files! It'll soon be 17 though, with Blood of Olympus coming soon and Percy Jackson's Greek Gods is on its way :3
I'm planning on reading On the Jellicoe Road soon too! Really should continue with the Seven Realms series!
OMG I love your Percy Jackson edition books. Awesome video!
I have a lot of Riordan, Funke, Clare, Rowling, etc. I love all of the authors you mentioned that I've bought books from! :D
I had a heart attack when you almost dropped the hp boxset! Ps: Loooove your videos regan, you're so awesome
My most owned author is Tamora Pierce, which is fitting because she is also my favorite.
I didn't know Melina Marchetta wrote a fantasy series! I read "Saving Francesca" and "Looking for Alibrandi" in high school and LOVED them!
Your book shelves are sooo beautiful
Saving Francesca and The Piper's Son (it's companion) by Melina Marchetta are AMAZING. So is Looking for Alibrandi. I love her contemporary style and the Aussie setting. The first two mean so much to me, they're so relatable and funny and adorable, great author.
I think the top owned author on my bookshelf would be Margaret Atwood... And I've only actually read one of her books. That's weird, but I guess that's what happens when you study literature and are Canadian? Hugs from Canada, Regan. I'm really enjoying your channel.
YOU HAVE TO READ JELLICOE ROAD SOON that's one of the books that I can reread endlessly and never get tired of. Also, I highly recommend Saving Francesca - it competes with Jellicoe for my favorite Marchetta book. Thanks for recommending her fantasy series, I wasn't too sure about it but now I'll definitely check it out :)
aw I have so much love for Lemony Snicket :) I read most of the Series of Unfortunate events books from the library though, so I think the only one I ever owned was the last one or something. Also every time I see someone show their mistborn books I'm reminded how badly I need to get some brandon sanderson books into my life.
I am currently reading The Crimson Crown! I have been marathoning the Seven Realms series and I love it! I'm very much in love with Amon Byrne.
Technically, I own 18 books by JK Rowling. It`s what you get when you have entire series complete in two languages.
The last book in the Heir Chronicles releases this October. You need to be getting on that. Also the Alloy of Law was soooo fun. You'll breeze through it.
So glad, you want to read Way of Kings! Can promise, you'll LOVE it. In my opinion it's his best series so far :)
omg when you almost dropped hp and was like 'oh shi' haha to funny!
I love that all of Brandon Sanderson's UK covers all match:)
More Than This has my heart.
I really, really enjoyed watching this video.. My amazon wish list increased by A LOT!
Jellicoe Road is fantastic! I'm not a huge contemporary fan and it's still one of my favourite books!!
Jellicoe Road is phenomenal! Literally such an amazing book.
I actually got my first Libba Bray book, Beauty Queens, last month. Can't wait to read it :)
Currently I'm reading my first Brandon Sanderson book and The Final Empire is amazing so far :D
AAAAHH!!! :D I honestly really love Jellicoe Road, it's really really amazing. So fantastic!!!!!
I really need to read Patrick Ness's novels, they seem so great! (I'm missing out on the amazing-ness that is Patrick Ness, aren't I?)
And Libba Bray's writing is phenomenal. I couldn't help feeling totally creeped out at some parts during the Diviners. Fantastic!!! :)
I love videos like these! I do believe my most owned author is Tamora Pierce with 15 books! And there's still another 15 of hers that I've read but still need to buy!
After her, it would be JK Rowling, Tolkien, Austen and Chirstopher Paolini!
So many awesome authors! I'm going to upload mine in the next 2 weeks! :)
Going to order the Mistborn box set now! :)
Hi Regan! I just wanted to suggest that you read the Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan. I read Percy by him, but I haven't moved onto the Heros of Olympus yet (I will though) But personally, I enjoyed the Kane Chronicles more. Maybe it's because I am much more into Egyptian mythology than Greek, but I feel like it's so underrated, and that people should start reading it because its freaking awesome!
The Casual Vacancy is one of my FAVORITE books ever. It's a bit slow and you're gonna hate a lot of the characters, but that's because they're so well-rounded and corrupted by the world they live in, which is ours. And the ending sits with me to this day and every time I think of it, I get this feeling in the pit of my stomach...
My most owned author is Rachel Renee Russel. She wrote the dork diaries books and I have all of those.
I have all of them too
I marathoned the chaos walking trilogy this summer and I really enjoyed it.
Those Patrick Ness books look sooo good! I've only read More Than This but I loved it!!!
By the way, have you read Stolen Songbird by Danielle L Jensen? YOU REALLY SHOULD IT'S AMAZING
Ooooh. I'm definitely going to look into Libba Bray and Melina Marchetta, neither of which had I heard about before now but they sound RIGHT up my alley. :D And I keep meaning to get to reading the Series of Unfortunate Events series... I just haven't yet. >.>
I wish I could do this tag, but since the majority of my books have been boxed for the last 4 years (D: amirite?) I've lot touch with exactly what I own. But probably my most owned author is Piers Anthony. I was in love with his Xanth series until, like, the 27th book. And his Incarnations of Immortality series (a paltry 6 or 7 in comparison) is the shizznit. Among other stand-alones (which are frankly not good but >.>) So I think probably no other author will ever beat his about 35 that I own. XD
Anyway! Thanks for this!
Would you consider making an updated version of this? Love your videos!
My top ten most owned authors are:
Scott Westerfeld - 14 books, JK Rowling - 13 books (unique copies-with duplicates and various formats I own 35), Lurlene McDaniel - 12 books, Lemony Snicket - 12 books (I am missing one because I borrowed them when I was younger), Cassandra Clare - 10 books, Roald Dahl - 9 books, Stephenie Meyer - 8 books, James Patterson - 8 books (I think), Pittacus Lore - 8 books, and Michael Grant - 6 books.
I think my list of auto-buy authors would omit a few of these and add a ton more. Happy Reading!
I think I own 40+ books by Meg Cabot! I've been reading her books for 9 years and I just love her
Great video! My most owned author is Rick Riordan at 17 books. :P Though soon to be 18!!! I do have to get my own copies of the Percy Jackson books in hardcover (because my family copies are mostly in paperback and completely wrecked..) and I have to get mine own hardcover copies of the Harry Potter books (with the original covers before they go out of print!)
Ooh, very curious about Cinda Williams Chima now! I also own 14 Lemony Snickets, 15 if you count the notebook;) And I have 10 Holly Blacks, mostly thanks to the Spiderwick Chronicles. Oh, and most of the Roswell books by Melinda Metz, although I miss a couple of them still. Also own a lot of non-YA, like Murakami. And then there are some auto-buy authors that just haven't released that many books yet.
Your Harry Potter books are so beautiful *.*
Patricia Wrede (23), Robin McKinley(15), Brandon Sanderson (12), and Terry Brooks (13) are my most owned authors with 12+ books each! SO many good books!
So many great books! I need them all! No, but for real. Cassandra Clare, Rowling, John Green... they're probably at the top right now, but it changes around all the time!
My most owned authors include Richelle Mead, Cassandra Clare, and Jennifer L. Armentrout! :)
my most owned author is Brandon sanderson.. I have 11 of his books
Iris Johansen, Rachel Gibson, Tara Janzen, Kay Hooper, Beverly Barton
I'm more of a E-Reader but i'm currently reading City Of Ashes and it's a really great book
When you're in the mood (if you're ever in the mood) to read middle grade fantasy, The Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins is amazing! Not as good as the Hunger Games, but still amazing,
My most owned authors are
10th place: Tony DiTerlizzi (11)
9th place: Dav Pilkey (12)
8th place: Robert Jordan (13)
7th place: tie between Rick Riordan & J.R.R. Tolkien (14)
6th place: tie between C.S. Lewis & Lemony Snicket (15)
5th place: Roald Dahl (17)
4th place: tie between Terry Brooks & Brandon Sanderson (18)
3rd place: Kathryn Laskey (24)
2nd place: Dr. Seuss (29)
1st place: Terry Pratchett (41)
Have you ever read any Tamora Pierce? She is so amazing! Love her books! It's a YA book set but if you want to try, start with the Alanna quartet first.
jellicoe road is a gorgeous book
Enjoyed watching! I think my most owned authors are Cassandra Clare, Phillipa Gregory, and Lauren Willig. Do dead authors count? LOL! If so, I'd probably have to add William Shakespeare and Edgar Allan Poe.
You should really get to the Cuckoo's Calling and the Silkworm. Because, yeah, they're something.
Rick Riordan is my favorite author EVER. I read the Percy Jackson and The Olympians series and the first book of the Heroes of Olympus series is on my TBR list!
You would ADORE "Beauty Queens" and "Going Bovine" by Libba Bray. You need to get them, like, yesterday. Kthanxbyeee
I need to buy more Gaiman, Ness and Snicket. I have Rowling books that I need to start readingggg
You should do a read along for the series of unfortunate events :)
My most owned author is (the queen) J. K. Rowling with 22 books, followed by Richelle Mead with 15 books, in third place is Agatha Christie with 14 books and then Neil Gaiman with 12 books.
Wow, Girl Power. And Neil Gaiman. But he's so adorable that I don't even care.
I own Kelley Armstrong's novels the most. I have 13 books (3 series). They're fantastic!
Patrick Ness is one of my favorite authors too!!
I love Brandon Sanderson. Though you don't have the series I really loved, which is Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians. It is hysterical. Though not the same feel of his Mistborn series.
I idolised Libba Bray as a teenager! Still need to buy The Deviners... and HOW GOOD WAS MISTBORN? Urgh, love love love.
Jo Rowling probably, and then maybe after that Eoin Colfer? I have a lot of his (but am still missing some crucial ones!). And definitely Cassandra Clare as well!
My most owned author is definitely Terry Pratchett, coming in at 40 books. He takes up a lot of shelf space.
Where can you find these kind of books for cheap? :)
I usually get my books from libraries and thrift stores because despite my love of books, I really don't have the money for buying books haha...
On that note, work with a literacy development program where we mentor/tutor low income elementary school students in reading, since there are huge discrepancies in education between low income and higher income students.
It's shocking how much education discrepancies are perpetrated by just not having enough money to have things like books at home or parents not having the time or means to take their children to libraries all the time ( for many reasons other than they don't care) and such. I was lucky that my parents encouraged my love of reading by buying me books when they could and taking me to libraries, but not all low income/poor children are so lucky.
Being able to afford books and other educational experiences is a huge privilege!
Thrift stores/second-hand. Check the thrift stores around you, and see which stores are in proximity to higher-end/richer communities. More high-end homes, more chances for better books to show up.
Mine are Tery Pratchett, J.R.R.Tolkien, Lemony Snicket and Brandon Sanderson for definite.
BEAUTY QUEENS BY LIBBA BRAY YES GET THAT
pleaaase, pleasee, pleaseeee read on the jellicoe road!it's so beautiful and wonderful and i think it's her best book!i'm sorry that i haven't seen anyone on booktube talk about it because it's a shame to not read that book!at some point i was thinking about stalking you on goodreads to make you read it,but that would be too creepy ..oh well..anyway..READ IT !
I love your channel! Love your personality...and bookshelves :) Which Sanderson is your favorite? I'm glad people read him. Have you read Words of Radiance yet?
YOU REALLY NEED TO GET BEAUTY QUEENS BY LIBBA BRAY IT'S ONE OF MY FAVS AND JUST SHE'S AMAZING NO MATTER WHAT GENRE
wait..what about lemony's (daniel's) adult books?! WHY HAVEN'T YOU READ THOSE??? (and the one ya book) The Basic Eight is one of my fav books of ALL TIME and it's his first eveer.
I loved Beauty Queens.
I only have tmi series. I had read infernal devices trilogy, but i need to getg them!
Can you do a top 10 stand a lone book video please. Ps I love your videos :-)
You should read Brandon Sanderson's two novellas, Legion and Emperor's Soul if you haven't already. They come in one book and are hilarious and SO GOOD! :)
My top owned authors are:
Rick Riordan (18 books)
Michael Morpurgo (15 books)
Road Dahl (14 books)
J.K Rowling (11 books not including illustrated versions or a few different covers)
Sarah.J.Maas (10 books)
Marissa Meyers (7 books)
Rainbow Rowell (4 books )
you should finish reading series of unfortunate events. very enjoyable :)
You said jenny Hahn is the only contemporary in your list, but Melina Marchetta is primarily contemporary! All her books except the Lumatere chronicles are YA contemporary (and are all excellent)
Your eyes are really pretty.
Gail Carson Levine, Colleen Houck, Stephanie Meyer, & Julie Kagawa to name a few...
5:29 i'm dying omg
My Top 10 goes something like this:
1. Arturo Pérez-Reverte: 22 books.
2. Hideyuki Kikuchi: 21 books (only the Vampire Hunter D series, though).
3. David Gemmell: 18 books.
4. Anne Rice: 17 books.
5. Karen Traviss/Stephen King: 16 books.
6. Scott Westerfeld: 15 books.
7. Brian Herbert & Kevin J. Anderson: 12 books (the Dune sequel series).
8. Brandon Sanderson/Guy Gavriel Kay/Peter F. Hamilton/Steven Erikson: 11 books.
9. Cassandra Clare (albeit, regrettably): 10 books.
10. Daniel Abraham (three of which as James S.A. Corey): 10 books.
Some might be subject to change given that I own pretty much every non-junior Star Wars Expanded Universe novel out there, and many are written by the same authors so I'm only counting Karen Traviss cause I've got the most books by her outside the Star Wars universe. So... yeah xD
Tamora Pierce, Holly Black, Bruce Coville, and Cate Tiernan.
Most people who want the new one of those things are going to do with the help
My main auto-buy author is julie kagawa cause she's a beast.
My most owned authors are Gregory Maguire (6 books and still going), Charles Dickens (5 books and still going), W. bruce Cameron (3 books and still going), Morgan Matson (4 books and still going) and Lewis Carroll (4 books).
Huh. Never thought to count before, but I think my top two most owned authors are Tamora Pierce, with 27 and Nalini Singh, with 25 (both Auto-buys, and I'm missing their latest books). Then of course I have John Flanagan and Rick Riordan, and Mercedes Lackey (all of which I still have more to get)
Hmmm most owned authors... this is a hard one! Stephen King with 60 (give or take a few, and that is not including my doubles), Nicholas Sparks with 12, Lisa Gardner with 10, J.K. Rowling with 7, John Green with 6, Cassandra Clare with 5, Richelle Mead with 4, Rainbow Rowell with 4.
My auto-buys are Stephen King, Rainbow Rowell, Neil Gaiman, Lisa Gardner, Carol Rifka Brunt and Joe Hill.
magic treehouse books are my most owned, because I have so many of them xD But my top two autobuys right now are Sanderson and Pat Rothfuss. Also, Don't know if you've read Way of Kings yet, but it is amazing! As is the sequel Words of Radiance. They aren't nearly as daunting S they initialy look.
True. The Stormlight Archives get you so involved in the story and characters that by the end you want the book to be longer. I'm currently reading Words of Radiance and I loved Way of Kings.
Cassandra Clare with 9, Richelle Mead with 10, PC. Cast with 9 (That series is gonna kill me one of these days -.-), Joanne K. Rowling with 8, Rick Riordan with 9, Scott Westerfeld with 7... Uhm... *think* Maggie Stiefvater with 7. I think I've got a lot of five books authors. Like Cornelia Funke, Kerstin Gier, Simone Elkeles, Jana Oliver...
But auto-buy? Well... Maggie Stiefvater definitely is, though I always wait for the German version to come out. Also Kerstin Gier whenever she writes YA, same goes for Cornelia Funke. And Simone Elkeles... Well, I'm gonna read her novels sooner or later. I've read every book that was published so far. And Cassandra Clare WAS an auto-buy for me... once upon a time... before she told the world, she'd write about 500 shadowhunter novels. I'm not really sure, if I wanna read these and I wouldn't have bought City of Heavenly Fire, if it hadn't been on sale a few days ago.
I'm not really the auto-buy kind of person. If something sounds like I wouldn't like it, I'm not gonna buy it. That's the reason, why I don't own Casual Vacancy or Rowlings outher two novels. Not my genre, so no.
