I'm not trying to pressure anymore than you are, but PERCY Jackson is amazing! I think it's good you're waiting so that means you don't have to go through the pain of his trolly cliffhangers and you can just read them back to back... You should marathon it once you feel like reading it!
Percy Jackson book 1- Fell in love with but not at first chapter like Harry Potter though. Very funny. Book 2- Good Book 3- Favorite!! Introduce the lovely dark nico but he's friendly nine year old in this book. Book 4- Plot twist!!! Book 5- Well then, I still don't forgive him and you shouldn't either percy but percabeth!!! Heroes of Olympus Book 1- Where the heck is percy? Who are you people!' Book 2- Noooooo Percy lost his memory, and he- he - he... what about my ship Rick? My ship!!! Omg Nico came back, and he's fourteen not twelve anymore! Book 3- Percabeth reunited!! and then cliffhanger! Book 4- Are you serious? They fell into- .... don't die please xxx Book 5- a nosebleed, a fake sacrifice? I thought there was more to this... and why is percy barley in this book?!!!?? (Goes back and reread the percy Jackson series again) That was my reactions when reading the books Harry Potter book 1- Omg omg why didn't I read this before and judged it so badly without reading it?!?!? Harry Potter book 2- Awe ginny likes Harry! Awwww friendship! Harry Potter book 3- Woah so did he betray harry parents or not. Plot twist( I was real shock) Harry Potter book 4- Ron you idiot !!!! Oh no Voldemort is back! Harry Potter book 5- Sirius Black is dead sirius 😫😧 and that's umbridge is such a ***** 😤 Harry Potter book 6- Snape you bastard!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aww ginny and Harry finally got together! Harry Potter book 7- Is this it? Is my life over now... this is so satisfying I don't know what to say except... did you really need to kill all those people that I love and grown to J.K Rowling?!?!? ✌️
Some of my top most owned authors: J.K Rowling (7 Harry Potters, Casual Vacancy, 3 Harry Potter companions) Sarah Dessen (6 books) Michael Grant (6 books in the Gone Series) John Green (6 books) Rick Riordan (5 books in PJO series) Cecelia Ahern (4 physical books, 1 audiobook)
My most owned 'author' is really weird because it's Jim Davis, I own almost all of the Garfield books. They're really torn up old copies but I have a emotional connection to them. Also they're quite a nice read after a very dense content heavy book.
I really do think that you'll enjoy Rick Riordan once you get around to him. He's very character based and they're really fleshed out. I recommend marathoning the Olympians/Heroes series once the last book comes out (which is on Tuesday). Also Marie Lu has another book coming out on Tuesday I believe.
My most owned author is rick riordan I have 21 books of him. (I am dutch so i have some in dutch, some in english and some in both) my plan is to buy every single book of him in english but i have not done that yet. My second most owned is cassandra clare. (15 books) I have those mostly in english but some are in dutch and i still need to buy them in english but to do that costs so much money😣😟
It's so cool to hear you speak about these authors with such passion, they inspire me like no one in life and I'm so grateful for the worlds that they have created for us.
I remember loving the Fablehaven series! Also, ahh, the Percy Jackson books are just so good. I feel like you would really like it, but I don't blame you for not reading them yet.
I hear what you're saying about Lauren Oliver! I read the delirium trilogy and absolutely loved it! So many people don't like it but it's one of my favorite trilogies! However, I also read before I fall and didn't think much of it, I actually found it so boring that I couldn't finish it. I'm yet to read panic and it's not really on my tbr.
My most owned author is Rick Riordan definitely. But I've just started collecting book last year and I don't have that much money to buy a book every week or sth. And Indonesia's got way less books than America. So, yeah. PJO, HOO, and TKC series. BOO IS COMING OUT TOMORROW so I need to buy that as soon as possible.
You should totally read the Fablehaven series. It's one of my favorites series. Also the author have anounced a sequel serie for this one to be release in 2016.
I LOVE Lemony Snicket/Daniel Handler! He got me into reading, too. I wasn't really sure about Lauren Oliver, either, but I loved her book Before I Fall!
YAY. Videos evrryday :D I totally feel you. I hate being pressured on reading (like school LOL) My most owned authors are Rick Riordon, Cassandra Clare, and Jennifer L. Armentrout :)
Man I thought I was the only one! I have all of the Percy Jackson series, The Kane Chronicles and Heroes of Olympus series. It's just sitting on my shelf but I don't want to go through the misery of waiting for his next book, I just want to marathon it. And thank you so much for recommending Daniel Handler / Lemony Snicket, read nearly all of his books and he's become one of my favourite author so thanks again! :)
I need to get to reading the Near Witch!! Through the whole video I was just sitting her like: "Where's Ransom Riggs? Where's Victoria Schwab? Why isn't he saying this names." lol
ok i promise i will read books from now! i'll start with fantasy books. you recommended Jason Segel's Nightmares and I'm reading it now. I'll have to get more fantasy books though
YASSS Brandon Mull is such a great choice! I absolutely love his writing! I've read the whole Fablehaven Series and most of the 5 Kingdoms series because as I am posting this the 5th book is not out yet. But I'm super psyched about it! And I love Rick RIordan! I have every book he has ever published, like literally I think I have 14 of his books, I'm not sure XD. But anyways great vid!
Jesse you need to read Brandon Mull! My personal favorite series by him is Beyonders it's so good! But Five Kingdoms and Fablehaven are both fantastic as well!
no worries jesse, i am still yet to read any rick riordan books too despite wanting to sooooo badly! it's just a matter of time and commitment...because that's a lot of books haha
Lemony Snicket and Rick riordan are my two most owned! Also, Brandon Mulls books are REALLY good! Especially Fable Haven. He definitely deserves some love on Booktube.
I HIGHLY recommend lauren Oliver's before I fall! It is without question her best work (though I have not read her middle grade series). It is beautiful, touching, tragic, and hart warming. I digs so deep into real life and tough decisions and the main character goes though some of the most amazing character development! It is just phenomenal!
I don't buy many books (although I've been buying a lot more recently. I blame you, Jesse), but my most owned author is john green :D I have TFIOS, paper towns, looking for Alaska, and an abundance of katherines
I have most of the authors you mentioned, and I have nearly every one of the Redwall novels by Brian Jaques. He is also the only author who's signature I have, which is so cool.
I understand you totally... All my friends used to put pressure on me to read Rick's books and finally I read them and they were awesome! I hope you can read them soon... And of course without pressure ;)
I totally get you on the Riordan pressuring. I'm really glad I read him before I really knew anyone else who read books; I don't think I would have even bothered to pick him up if everyone was trying to make me. Getting pushed into reading something sucks.
My most owned author is probably Charlaine Harris, because of True Blood. I bought them so long ago (I was still at elementary school I think) at the book fair and in my town the bookshops don't have a huge collection of books in English and many books don't get translated so I got really excited at the time. I still like them a lot, because I pick them up if I need a light, funny, but also a bit dark read. On the second place it's probably George R. R. Martin with all 5 A Song of Ice and Fire series and 2 of the Wild Cards. :) I believe it's the best to just start the books about which you feel pressured and not think much about it.
I feel the exact same way with the Rick Riordan books. I feel like they are going to be good, and I own a few of them, but I feel pressured to read them! But right now I am reading the Harry Potter series and I love it!!!
as soon as you showed the Tales of Beedle the Bard, my jaw literally dropped open and I gasped so loud..... I want to read that book so badly!!!!!!!! How is it? P.S. I'm SO IN LOVE WITH THE NEW HARRY POTTER BOOK COVERS!
I LOVED! panic I read it after reading the infinite sea ( don't even get me started on that book. just READ THE 5TH AVE TRILOGY!) panic helped me to get through my slump
Jennifer Fallon. I own almost all her books if not all, and her trilogy beginning with 'Wolfblade' hasn't been beaten for my favourite series. It just held me there in the story and I cared so much about her characters, which she put in real jeopardy.
Richelle Mead, Janet Evanovich (who writes the hilarious Stephanie Plum bounty hunter series) and Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, who co-write a number of fantastic books
Another book by Lauren Oliver is "Before I fall" I believe is the title. It was an amazing book with so many layers. Ah! I just loved it. It will take you right off the fence and into love! ;P
I feel the same way. I read the Percy Jackson series when it wasn't a big deal, now everyone's like you should read it, and I can't be bothered to pick up the rest of the books. I was in the middle of the Kane series and I loved them....Sigh. PPL!
At the moment, my most owned author is Wendy Mass. I have eight of her books, and I plan to get more. I like to read books like hers that are more middle grade, when I’m feeling like reading something a bit happier and lighter than young adult fiction.
Mine is probably Dav Pilkey, I own the first 7 and the 11th book of the Captain underpants series in paperback, then I own the bind up of books 1-3 and the bind up of books 4-6 also in paperback, then I also own the collector's hardback edition of the second book as well as the hardback editions of books 8, 9 and 10. On top of that I own both "the extra crunchy book o' fun" and "the extra crunchy book o' fun 2"
If you love middle grade fantasy you should definitely check out the Sisters Grimm by Michael Buckley! It's one of my favorite series.

I'm so freacking JEALOUS! YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE COPY OF ALL THE BOOKS I LOVE! Seriously, someday i will go to your home a steal it #Promise Love your recommendations, Jesse, HUGS❤
There is so much pressure, especially on booktube, to read Rick Riordan! But even though I have a ton of his books in ebook format, I have not read any of them either!
I own many books by John Grisham, Dean Koontz and Rick Riordan. Just last year, I bought and finished Riordan's Percy Jackson and The Olympians, The Heroes of Olympus and 2 of his 5 Trials of Apollo.
I highly recommend Neil Gaiman's American Gods, it's indescribable. Also, Lauren Oliver wrote one of my favourite books, Before I Fall :) It's contemporary and sort of like Groundhog day in high school :D
Jk Rowling (Autobuy)- 14 Books (23 including copies) Rick Riordan (Autobuy)- 22 Books (24 including graphic novels and 26 including Ultimate Guides) Marissa Meyer (Autobuy)- 7 Books John Green- 6 Books Rainbow Rowell- 4 Books (5 including copies) Tony DiTerlizzi and Holy Black- 6 Books Veronica Roth- 4 books
I GUESSED YOU WOULD SAY RICK RIORDAN!!! BTW the books are amazing.. JK ROWLING, Rainbow Rowell. Ransom Riggs and Lemony Snicket..... I'm fangirling right now.. The Iron Trial is also really good. :D
I own over 30 books by Jude Watson. They're all intermediate reader, which means just below middle grade, so about 100 pages, big type, and I get them for about 3-4 dollars each.
Neil Gaiman is most definitely in my top 5 favorite authors, although I don't actually own any of his books. He is actually one of the reasons I started writing stories and not just poetry like I was doing. Maybe the next time you do a video like this, I'll be in the list! (Hey, I can dream, can't I?)
Loved the video! You named some of my favourite authors :) Don't feel preassured to read Riordan's books! They're amazing and it would be a shame if the preassure ruined them for you!
Hey Jessie! You have to read the books by Walter Moers! He is a german high fantasy author and his books are so brilliant. I would recommend you the book Rumo and His Miraculous Adventures.
My top three most owned authors are Rick Riordan (by a freaking landslide, he has his own shelf), Shannon Hale (The Books of Bayern, Princess Academy Trilogy, Book of a Thousand Days, and Dangerous), and JRR Tolkien (The Hobbit + LotR box set, another copy of The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, and a moleskin bound edition of Lord of the Rings).
I only have 2 most owned authors and those 2 are C.S. Lewis and James Dashner. I have 7 books by C.S. Lewis, which is the whole Chronicles of Narnia Series, and for James Dashner I have The Maze Runner Series(that's including The Kill Order), The Eye of Minds and The Rule of Thoughts(the sequel to The Eye of Minds). I love all of those books and the authors so much!!! Their my favorite authors and the books are amazing! :)
THE FINISHED COPY OF IRON TRIAL HAS PICTURES IN IT?!?!? I READ MY ARC! I HAD NO IDEA *runs to bookshelf* *flips through pages* OoooOoOOhHhh cooooool

He reminds me of Alec Lightwood. Just the way he looks.
I own over 30 books by Jude Watson. They're all intermediate reader, which means just below middle grade, so about 100 pages, big type, and I get them for about 3-4 dollars each.
Finally, someone else who loved the series of unfortunate events as a kid! 😃
I'm really curious about The Archived. I wonder how great the plot is. I have to read the two books. :)
I would recommend you the book Rumo and His Miraculous Adventures.
thank you so much for posting so much, your videos are so awesome
My top three most owned authors are Rick Riordan (by a freaking landslide, he has his own shelf),
Shannon Hale (The Books of Bayern, Princess Academy Trilogy, Book of a Thousand Days, and Dangerous),
and JRR Tolkien (The Hobbit + LotR box set, another copy of The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, and a moleskin bound edition of Lord of the Rings).
Lemony is one of my favorite authors of all time
I only have 2 most owned authors and those 2 are C.S. :)
