Had done this once ,years ago except it was an optical pickup kit, by Allison electronics. Worked well, but this one looks more reliable , as this is close to OEM spec.for operation. Smoother starts, Had an old 65GT Cortina-English Ford, w positive ground, and the kit directions even had a diagram for this .situation. Learned a lot about DC electronic theory owning that car..
Had a problem with a capacitive discharge system once with a aftermarket TBI fuel system.on an old Ford pickup. Over rich condition, gagging carbon monoxide within minutes, . The capacitive output signal confused the aftermarket ECM. Hence the over- rich at idle & poor performance. Replaced w a standard electronic ignition module and coil , shipped it💨
I just got one for my old massey ferguson thanks for the info I wasn't sure how it went together it's gonna be nice not having to deal with points and condensers anymore
The gold box is a Delta Mark Ten capacitive discharge ignition. In its day it was a way to increase spark energy and relieve the points of the coil current. Had some downsides too, and not surprising that it's failed after so many years.
Depends on if you want performance electronic ignition or just standard to improve reliability, it can range from $70-$450, I spent £50 on mine to convert it from points (I’m from UK)
Just a Rancher. Ranchers are the Backbone of America . Thank you for being a Rancher.
That was slicker than snot!👍🏻😄
Well I do declare I love thingamabobs

So with the old points/condenser system you'd have one lead to negative coil and one to positive coil?
Thank you...I have a Studebaker 259 with an electronic ignition kit, love it, no points to mess with.
In case you lose your air gap little tool/gauge, I just got off the phone with tech support because I did lose mine. it is .030.
I love my pertronix setups, I just always lose them clear spacers.
Where to buy the kit.
Awesome and in-depth video; subscribed.
Thanks friend. Just the cowboy working on my old pick up.
Happy trails

I lost my clear spacer, how thick is that thing?

Is this possible on a 99 jeep Cherokee xj?
Duh... it's built in the jeep already...
How much did it cost
Boy that was a long time ago I’m not sure.
