  • We take advantage of our passage through the city of Cazorla to enjoy one of its most picturesque routes and that starts from the streets of the city.
We are talking about the route of the Cerezuelo River - Cascada de la Malena, a circular itinerary that we start from the Bóveda del Río that is located under the ruins of the Church of Santa María de Gracia.
The trail goes up the course of the Cerezuelo using a stimulating route between pools, walkways, bridges, waterfalls and waterfalls under the shelter of riparian vegetation. Children and adults will have a great time.
After a little more than a kilometer and a half we leave the banks of the river to face a steep climb that will take us out of the depth of the valley formed by the profiles of the Peña de los Halcones and the Loma del Castillo.
In this ascent we will be witnesses of old abandoned corrals and an old limekiln, at the time that we are obtaining views to the other margin of the orography where the path runs and that has its inflection point in the following milestone that we will reach: the Cascada de la Malena.
This impressive waterfall comes from the heights thanks to the course of the Arroyo de la Hoz, a tributary of the Cerezuelo River. From here, our trail will head back to Cazorla, going halfway up the Loma del Castillo.
There is a detour to visit the Castillo de las 5 Esquinas but on this occasion we will be content to see it from a distance.
The panoramic views of the town of Cazorla improve as we approach the Castillo de la Yedra.
We descend to this monument and then make a small detour to see the exterior of the Ermita de San Miguel Arcángel.
The route ends descending by the cemented track that starts from the castle itself to introduce us back into the arteries of the city to place us on the Church of Santa Maria de Gracia.
🏘️ The town of Cazorla is included in the Magic Route 18 of the Magic Villages of Spain, do not miss it! 👉 • PUEBLOS MÁGICOS · RUTA...

Es preciosa y es un recorrido corto. Algunos repechos pero de corta distancia. Gracias por el comentario Tomás!
