The mid 00s resurgence of indie bands, soccer am, pre credit crunch, before social media took over, Bebo and Msn messenger, popped collars on a Lacoste polo, white trainers, spraying on too much Joop. This was the life in 2006.
The lyrics say it all. Work 40 hours plus a week to look forward to enjoying the little freedom you have before it all starts again on Monday morning. Sublime lyrics and and bloody good guitars too.!
They wasn't underrated at the time... With the likes of this song & a number of others, they where topping the charts & rightly so... It's still a great tune, so many years later (2021)....
I’m up late at night in June, 2020. I randomly remember HardFi from years ago and just quickly look up their songs. This song starts cranking and I’m instantly filled with joy. God damn, these guys are good, and these songs still slam. I don’t know what it is, but something about music and the UK just mixes so very well!
I remember listening to that 2000s song by the British band Hard-Fi when I was a teenager. It's a great song. It's one of my favourite 2000s songs of all time. This song never gets old. It will always be a timeless classic. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
It's the year 2022 in Dublin, Ireland, and we are still listening to your music. Class lyrics, bass, music, vocals. Love you, Hard-Fi. Please come back. Pure music that all. Love yous.
@@jonathanhadley2555 Yes everyone getting together having a few drinks, having a few games of pool and darts with rocks songs blasting on the jukebox! Everyone just enjoying themselves. That’s part of being being British!
Back when music had meaning! We need bands like this right now. And I would so love Hard Fi to get back together, their music was an anthem for me back in the day...
When a band grabs your mind it is impossible not to sustain its style! Hard-Fi wrote some undeniable anthems about everyday life, they highlighted the current troubles of younger and older people by a perfect pattern of rock/electronic injection! Youth is a thing they need to stand out, the disease is descriptive in their lyrics, the pressure of living in a society that compels you to adjust to a certain style and not to express your own ideas! This is the huge glitch we deal with.
This band's sound, at least the first two albums, summarize the kind of British music I love, including influences from the Clash to the Manic Street Preachers.
First time i heard this song was on a Carling advert lol, 2nd time was in a sports direct, never looked back since though, now in a job where im literally living for the weekend
Still the most quintessential Friday tune ever. Hear this on a Friday afternoon or evening, I know it's going to be a good one. For a 20yr old song....it's transcended time very, very well indeed. Still my go-to Friday track
Is also my favourite song to herald the weekend. At work 19 min before finally the workday ends we always play this song (is unfortunatelly in German less energizing): m.ruclips.net/video/bElb2KgLxP8/видео.html
August 2023, this is the tune of all Train Operator team members & other Transport Companies who are under pressure from the Govt & other Orgs and their only thing they can look forward is The weekend.
I have never worked the traditional week and for most of the year not even believed in a “weekend”. However all that has changed this week, today marks the start of my first weekend in 90 weeks, having worked Monday to Friday and I’m loving the novelty of it. The Friday feeling, the structure to the week. No surprise that I’ve had this playing most of the week, and due to my circumstances it means so much more. This indie banger is something of an emotion almost. For 90 weeks, I’ve been living for THIS weekend
One of my all-time favourite bands! Totally unique and instantly recognisable sound....so under-rated, where did you go,? I agree, come back Hard-Fi!! 😍😍😍
That sentiment, representing the working class, is something that really resonates with me lately. I have a feeling that it strongly correlates with America's current political landscape.
I heard this in a Suzuki Swift ice hokey match inbetween Richard Hammond and James May more than a decade ago and have been looking for it since. Good song.

yessss
We didn't realise how precious an awesome it was till it was over..
Good fcukin times
I love this song 😍💟
Still sounds fresh as fuck in 2024 😊
yea, could be re-released
I think that was their issue, they were slightly ahead of their time for the era of music that was in back then.
A song that perfectly illustrates the UK.
Bonjour)) here it is ))
15 yrs ago yea not now....
@@don__hector7845?
I can’t understand why they never made it bigger. The crap what’s out know is unbelievable.
true, that have style, sound, they deserve more fame
There is still lots of great music coming out, it’s just not on the charts. Charts is absolute rubbish these days
Gov don't like real bands ha
Most people don't work do they the ones that do if they didn't would run the place haha
Yup listening 2024
Hard-Fi keeping it fucking real. Brits just live for The Weekend 🙃
Stars Of CCTV is one of THE great albums of this century.
Tune! What a banging year 2005 was.
Not as good as 1990 till 1999 though, but I know what you mean, keep it real and fuck the Tories 😂
This tune is an anthem will always be anthem . Turn it up and rock out its about living for the weekend baby!!!!!
Was it really that long ago!? Wow, I remember when it was released
Man the nostalgia! Indie Rock totally ruled the British music scene during the 2000s, those times were more fun and simple...
Yea indie music that talks about going footie and kicking peoples heads in
Total lie.@@iliasmichailbouras1390
This song never ages, always perfect for Friday afternoons.
Take my bear ( sorry that was bout beer ))
Why I am here right now
Still pumpin'!
I was listening to this yesterday - a Friday in 2024 remembering when I used to play it every Friday afternoon at my job, back in 2008
This song sums up British culture..Work all week then spend your hard earned wages on getting hammered.
Class.
British Culture? Its like this everywhere in the western world.
British culture would be drinking all week also. Not just on the weekend.
Exactly why I left the UK about the time this stuff came out. This song reminds me about sticking two fingers up to this culture.
Well arent you a badass
I don’t drink at all.
The lyrics say it all. Work 40 hours plus a week to look forward to enjoying the little freedom you have before it all starts again on Monday morning. Sublime lyrics and and bloody good guitars too.!
Why weren't Hard Fi massive? Brilliant band great songs should have been huge. In my opinion their debut album was one of the finest. Great band.
Not only defies an era but defies British Culture, what a song, what a band
2021: is there a better working-class anthem than this? Magic.
Pulp - Common People
Town Called Malice
Hard fi has aged very well one of the best indie bands to have sprung from staines London 😎
The jam have about twenty songs that are better anthems but this good

Proper LADS tune. Getting in from work/uni whatever and getting ready for a night out. Quality.

イギリスのロックは世界一。
歌い方といい、リズムといい、テンポといい、どれも最高。過小評価されすぎているバンドだと思う。
日本でこのバンドを知ってる人がいないのも、とても寂しい。
The year is 2023 and i'm in a eternal monday-friday loop hearing this masterpiece. Never looked so actual.
2020. Great tune. Come back Hard-Fi.
