Carolina laserworks also makes MK18 Mod 0 uid labels. It's not laser engraved, but it's still pretty cool. MK18 Mod 0 was first made with a 10.5" barrel also. Probably why LMT still makes theirs with a 10.5". Great vid,& firearm.
@@cosmolineandgritsforbreakf3795 sorry bruh, but you need to do a little more research. When the MOD 0 was first made it was a 10.5". Then Colt, and others stepped in, and it was brought down to 10.3"
Crane cut the barrels to 10.3 specifically for the sound suppressor. I just bought a LMT upper a few years back and it’s a 10.3 so I’ve never heard of LMT or colt making a 10.5 barrel for CQBR uppers.
@@hgarza1136Thats misinformation and there is no evidence they were ever 10.5. They were cut down manually to the shortest they could be, which was 10.3.
@@kilroy5166 whatever dude. Believe what you want. If you haven't seen the evidence of it, it's cause you haven't looked. Why don't you ask, small arm solutions? Which it probably wouldn't matter. Some people you just can't reach. Hell, you probably think the Earth is flat🫤
A lot of the stuff didn’t make it to all of the oda teams . So I’m had a certain amount that was handed out and it got handed out amongst the teams . So some teams got a few and not everyone on the team got it . Later on there was more in circulation .
Nice informative vid! I've loved the M4A1 Block I as a kid growing up. Now that I'm an adult, the CQBR/Mk18 is my go to now. Did the Mk18 always have a 10.3 barrel or did they also make them in 10.5?
rhey didnt issue them with ambi safety's either and they ddnit have uid tags on them either. these thing were phased out before they started using them to track rifles
ruclips.net/video/SdTNUvV9KyM/видео.html Not only is it possible, it’s easily done with 55 grain ball. Now imagine this test but with 77gr MK262… which SOCOM commonly runs in CQBR’s. Thanks for watching 👍
I've done it myself, what's so hard to believe about this? 5.56's terminal ballistics out of a 10.3 at that distance is another thing, but can you make hits out there? Absolutely.
My entire point was the terminal ballistics not accuracy. Even with 77s a 10.3 at that distance is not going to cut it. They are niche guns meant for a very specific job. Not do it all rifles.
@@themadist2245 MK262 traveling 2300-2400 feet/second out of a 10.3’’ barrel will be traveling 1300-1400 feet/second at 500 yards. Converted to energy, this puts MK262 in the same ballpark as 115gr 9mm at point blank range. Is this a huge drop in energy? Yes. Has the bullet lost all of it’s lethality? Not quite. Ignoring the fact that there are documented kills at extended ranges using CQBRs, you’re overthinking my original statement. I never said that a 10.3’’ barrel was ideal for shooting 500 yards, only that it was capable of doing so.
The Nodak Spud lower shown at 3:00 is mine.
It was an anodizing-blem that they sold to me as a "Battlefield Pick-up".
I used it for a Mod. 609 build.
One of my favorite rifles ever. I run mine with a 4x32 acog with acss reticle and surefire rc2
Very accurate take on the weapons system and most variants!

Incorrect the mk18 mod0 was made specifically with a 10.3 that was to have clearance past the bayonet lug for the sound suppressor.

very very accurate build with your own...engravings
yes, just engravings ;)
love your content btw.
As it sits it looks great. I dig it. I just uploaded my Colt Block 1.5 video
I love it! The original mk18
I just finished a replica of the exact rifle in pistol form, for now. 😉

To my knowledge, no 10.5’s were used.

Great work and attention to detail! I’d love to know the total cost on build that is this clone correct.
Great vid!
10.3'' barrel builds on M4A1 lower, is that MK18 mod 1 ?
I have the same setup but with a socom556 RC. And a peq2.

4 to 5 hundred yards from a 10.3? No.
