Hi Steve, brilliant to see you back out on the trail again. We did the Great Glen Way a few years ago by water. We hired a cruiser and travelled the Caledonian Canal from Inverness to Banavie and back. It was the best holiday we’ve ever been on. Brilliant weather and great fun. Looking forward to the rest of your journey. All the best, Dave

Its a beautiful trail to do. The Loch looked amazing and i did pass a few lovely cruise boats which would be awesome to do. Totally different view from a boat and experience. Such a peaceful cycle and there wasn't much pressure for camping spots and the weather was perfect. 👍

Hi Steve, just come across your channel and this trip in particular. I kayaked the Great Glen way a couple of years ago but keen to come back and do the route on my bike so this is a great insight!

      Hello
Well thank you for stopping by great comment, Kayaking the Great Glen looks fantastic and what a totally different view you will get so hats off. Yeah i actually had just cycled the NC 500 stopped a couple of nights in Inverness and then cycled the great Glen. It was a slitter trying to find the paths getting out of Inverness as you wind through housing schemes of new built houses which i got lost but as you get out and onto the more woodland areas its fantastic. So many potential camping spots so as long as you have water and food you can find a pitch anywhere. So glad you got something from it i loved it, there was a couple of diversions but if you are planning it you might get an update about them from the Forestry etc. Some tough bits for the bike but overall what a beautiful trail. Wish you the best on it.
      Steve 👍

    Hi Steve
Got to agree with you that the sign posts around the old Craig Dunain Hospital area are pretty poor. We did this part of the route a couple of years ago when the new houses were being constructed and it was a nightmare trying to establish where the track was. Once you crank your socks off going up the hill and get onto the track proper, it's a dream, and the views over Loch Ness are stunning. Great video!! - thanks 😊

Thanks so much for the comment, yeah i found it a nightmare, i hope they sort that out for the walkers sake and for the residents as i couldn't cope living there with thousands of people walking past your door every year. As you say once you are away from that it really is a great walk and a cycle, some tough bits but well worth all that. Love to walk it next trip in the future .
      Thank you again
      Steve 👍
