Well done Linda, what a touching end to your fantastic journey, I know the area you got lost in very well, and even locals get confused up there, wee Brora must be great comfort and company for you too, all the best Roy 😊
Great achievement both walking the GGW with Brora and the footage you've published captures your own journey so well. Seeing Brora in the morning so tired/chilled when you were squeaking her fave toy made me smile - with my Finn it would have more likely been the dog squeaking the toy in my face to get me out of bed! I remember getting a bit lost in that Inverness estate too, but when it was a building site with 6ft barriers and dug-up roads, I was at the start of my walk you were trying to finish after 20mile day - bet you're glad you went back for the poles though just another memory from the adventure to smile about (even though probably swearing at the time!). Looking forward to the next one, though think you've earned a rest first?!
Aww, thanks Scott. I agree getting lost at the start probably isn’t so bad. I’ve done it a few times on the Munros. I’d had such a good day up until then and was so frustrated I couldn’t find the path…and then the poles! Brora just keeps going. She was pretty knackered after that day’s walk. 👍
Hats off to you. Great video as always, but this one really showed the trials and tribulations of a long distance walk. That last day with that weight must have been brutal.
Hi there, congratulations of finishing the GGW 👏 and I really enjoy the three videos. You had amazing weather and the views were amazing too, atb Simon
Well done Linda😁💪🏻...That looked tough going with the extra heavy backpack..Bet you felt you we’re never getting there near the end..A very enjoyable Vlog. Cheers Robert
Thank you for the videos. I loved them. I'm doing the walk in June so found it very useful viewing. I shall be especially careful when i get to Inverness!
Fantastic final day which I’ve been waiting for. That section is not the best with way markings and we all go off track at some point. Well done to you both.
Linda that was brilliant! I loved every episode of your journey. It's a pain in the arse to get lost but it's easily done, signage can be poor in places, glad you found the poles. Looking forward to your next adventure. Well done both of you 🙂😊
I just walked the Great Glen Way a week ago and was looking for some videos to re-live it! Really enjoyed yours so thanks for sharing. What cracking weather you had! PS you did so well carrying all that weight......I did b&b's and baggage transfer!!
Hi Linda - love your videos and have been hooked watching the last 2 nights. Am a keen walker myself but have never wild camped. Was wondering what dog leads you used and then you answered all my questions at the end - thank you!!!! Wee Broras tail wagging was a joy to watch - well done both of you 👏👏
Well done, you should be really proud of yourselves.😊. Love watching your adventures, you are such an inspiration to women walking on their own ( and lovely Brora). Look forward to the next one. 😊
@@LindaOutdoors Hope so although I'll be waiting until there are at least a couple of dry days forecast - hopefully during Sept when it's quieter and less midges. I look forward to watching ur next outing.
Great video and I'm so glad you both recovered soon after getting home. Glad I wasn't the only one who thought the climb out of Drumnadrochit tough going. I got a new Osprey lightweight backpack now and am currently on the Hebridean Way. May bump into you again?! Thanks again for sharing your walk - lovely series. 😊
Aww, lovely Emma. That’s on my bucket list, maybe next year. I’ll maybe give you a shout and you can watch Brora again when I have a shower. 🤣 Only joking. Have a fabulous walk. X
Well done Linda, we enjoyed watching your wander with Brora. You were both looking a bit wabbit by the end but an amazing achievement. Best bit of the whole series is you battling to put the mighty rucksack on! Know the feeling too well 😨. Inspirational stuff, great effort.
A fantastic achievement, very well done indeed ! You might like to read " A croft in the hills" by Katherine Stewart, who lived & raised her family at at Abriachan.
Well done to You & Brora completing the GGW. Thank you for sharing your experiences. A friend & I are hiking the GGW in 2 weeks time , Your enthusiasm & insights have been inspiring. We both can't wait. I can reommend the West Highland Way which we hiked this time last year. Spectacular scenery.😊
I really enjoyed the whole series, Linda. Inspirational, motivating and highly enjoyable. And marvelous scenery, commentary and editing, too. Thank you!
Well done Linda 👏that was an amazing journey with Brora felt so sorry for you at the end with all the confusion and leaving your poles it happens to us all ,believe me !! The eco cafe was an experience well worth a visit ,we there last year lovely couple great food . Thank you for sharing take my hat off to you 👏👏👏
Well done on completing the GGW. It’s always harder navigating in towns and built up areas than it is out in the countryside. I’m sure you aren’t the only one who missed a turning - I have history myself!
Hi linda well done for your epic journey i have done loads of long distance hikes with my vizsla and have had to get picked up from loads of places due to citylink not allowing dogs on bus .very poor
I know, such an inconvenience. I’m having the same trouble trying to organise the Affric Kintail Way. Non dog friendly Citylink bus route runs past Morvich. 😔
@@LindaOutdoors I looked at that as well and the WHW (I’ve done that before though). It’s really off putting not having any public transport for back up 🐕
Hi , just jumping in here because I'm researching the reality of walking with my lab along the Great Glen Way. Worried about how much road there is with traffic and minimal pavement. Think we need to start a campaign to get a dog-friendly bus service! Was hoping the bus would be my get out clause if necessary. I don't want to juggle dog on lead with pack and traffic. Any info gratefully received. And WELL DONE, Linda, you put my worries to shame.... great achievement.
@@ShuTVchannel The worst bit is from Drumnadrochit to where the path cuts off into the woods. Luckily there’s a Stagecoach bus from Drumnadrochit to Inverness if you want to skip that bit. I think Stagecoach is dog friendly. From memory other road sections are very quiet or very short. tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s3.amazonaws.com/Timetables/North%20Scotland/Highlands/Loch%20Ness%20Area%20Guide%20timetable%20July%2022.pdf
Many thanks, Linda, that really helps. Stagecoach may well be the answer. I'd rather enjoy it and miss out any potentially dangerous bits with the dog! Many thanks again for taking the time to reply. Shu@@LindaOutdoors
