I’ve always loved being outdoors.
My campervanning journey began aged 7 when my parents bought a 1972 VW T2 Westfalia Continental but prior to that we were car camping in an Austin Maxi.
My hillwalking journey began in 1991 when I climbed Ben Lomond to get fit for the West Highland Way. I compleated all 282 Munros in August 2022. My love of the hills will hopefully take me to Assynt to climb the peaks I haven't had time to do, revisit some of my earlier Munros and repeat some favourite Munros too. I also plan to walk long distance trails and maybe a Corbett or two.
I hope my vlogs inspire people to get out and explore! 🙂

Ben Hiant: Small Hill, Big Views
I’d seen Ben Hiant from Mull while driving towards Tobermory and it looked striking and a bit intimidating rising straight up from the sea.
While staying at Ardnamurchan campsite I decided to climb the mountain. I visited Mingary Castle and Sanna Bay first hoping that by mid afternoon the summit would be free of cloud. I wasn’t disappointed.

Three Islands in Three Days: Staffa
Просмотров 67719 часов назад
While on holiday in Mull with a reasonably good weather forecast I decided to visit 3 islands off its shore. Staffa was the third island I visited. It had been on my bucket list for a while especially a visit to Fingal’s cave. I had a magical afternoon exploring some of the island. I used Staffa trips which sails from Iona calling at Fionnphort en route there & back. www.nts.org.uk/visit/places...

Excellent :-) What to say the others have said it all . Great vid Looking forward to the next.
@@ianscotty1931 Thank you Ian. 👍
Thanks for nice video. I may walk that hill soon on my next trip weather permitting. Place name pronunciation is not easy on west coast so I always stop and ask. Kilchoan according to both Calmac and locals is Kil Hoean. Adding Lochaline just as an other example. I’ve heard both Loch Allen and Loch Aline on uTube. I asked in village shop and was told by two elderly ladies it is Loch Haarlin.
@@tkaald Thank you. I try my best with Gaelic but it’s tough. I did learn that the correct way to say Fionnphort on Mull is finn-a-fort. I met a Gaelic speaker in Oban who was giving me tips. Thanks for watching. 👍
You brought back lovely memories of Ardnamurchan Linda. We (John and Mona) had a great week there in the early 90's staying at a guest house in Kilchoan. We understood the pronunciation was Kil-ho-an. We took the ferry to Tobermory, visited the lighthouse, watched Golden Eagles on Ben Hiant and climbed Ben Hiant. We were advised to go out after dinner one night to watch the deer come down from the hill for better grazing. We parked somewhere on the Sanna road and were amazed to see over three hundred (yes we counted them) deer come down, they walked right past the car to the fenced off 'better grazing'. It was marvellous to see them jump this six feet high fence from a standing start. Amazing also to note that all the deer were stags. Always look forward to your videos, wish I was as brave and adventurous. John (Mona no longer with us). We both loved Scotland.
@@JohnTaylor-wi3td Aww thanks John, so sorry for your loss. Ardnamurchan is definitely underrated and Ben Hiant is a gem of a mountain. Around 10 stags crossed the road in front of me just before the village of Kilchoan.
Great video Linda. This is a beautiful part of the west and you've captured the atmosphere very well. Haven't managed to climb Hiant but managed Ben Resipol. An easy climb and more stunning views. No one around either which is always nice.

Love these vlogs Linda, I am definitely planning a trip to mull as some point and your guided vlogs are so helpful. Also loved that you let us listen to the boat commentary so thank you for including that 😊. Wow that’s some walk to the cave, well done on heading there, I would be very nervous but i suppose once to start you just have to keep going and it was so worth it. 😊 . Also with you there on the sea sick front used to go in the boat to Shetland each year that was a 12 hour journey so Stugeron was needed glad to know you were okay. Brora was so good but like you said understand why they can’t have dogs near the puffins. Shame someone couldn’t have held him for you. He really is the best companion. You have really have been to some incredible places ❤.
Thank you so much Angie, she’s bird mad so I totally understand the rules. The rocks on the way to the cave were dry on my visit but I imagine it would be slippy if wet. The handrail runs right along and into the cave. Wear grippy shoes if you go. Thanks so much for watching. 👍

Beautiful... really enjoyed watching this. Not sure how this recommendation arrived on my screen but glad it did. I didnt realise the Island was as small as it is.. Being a Welshman I can recall the 1st time I ever heard of the name Iona... I was a teenager in the valleys of Wales and met and had a few dates with a girl from some miles away - her name was Iona ☺ Being an unusual name in my part of the World she told me she was named after an Island in Scotland and its something that has remained in my memory banks for man many years (I am 66 2mrw, lol) atb Alan

Those lovely west coast beaches, which sadly I missed on my visit, focused on the Abbey. Bora's nose and tail saying, come-on mum, let me run free!! Your imagery is inspiring, though hitting bright sunlit weather is, as always in the west coast, a rare blessing. As a geologist I was appreciative of your visit to the 'marble' quarry, though it's the views over the sound make this site totally special. Hard to imagine an industrial enterprise in such a remote place. Can't wait for Isle No 3. Hope the luck with weather holds out!!
