I’ve always loved being outdoors.
My campervanning journey began aged 7 when my parents bought a 1972 VW T2 Westfalia Continental but prior to that we were car camping in an Austin Maxi.
My hillwalking journey began in 1991 when I climbed Ben Lomond to get fit for the West Highland Way. I compleated all 282 Munros in August 2022. My love of the hills will hopefully take me to Assynt to climb the peaks I haven't had time to do, revisit some of my earlier Munros and repeat some favourite Munros too. I also plan to walk long distance trails and maybe a Corbett or two.
I hope my vlogs inspire people to get out and explore! 🙂

Traquair House: Exploring the House & Grounds
I’ve been visiting Traquair House and grounds since I was a child and always found it a magical place. It had been many years since my last visit and I walked right past it doing the Southern Upland Way earlier this year. I’d vowed to visit again soon.
Most of the video focuses on the history of the house and on a beautiful autumnal 🍂 walk through the grounds.

Dunino Den & Exploring Fife

What better way to spend Halloween 🎃 than visit a den said to have been the place where human sacrifices took place. To be honest, I didn’t find it overly spooky but well worth a visit, just don’t go after dark. 👻 I did however experience a distinct chill in one of the bedrooms in Kellie Castle during a guided tour. We also visit Balbirnie Stone Circle towards the end of the video. Chapters: 00...

Solo Summit Camp: Mayar

I’d wanted to summit camp on a Munro for a long time and it was on my bucket list. Weather conditions were perfect. It’s always a bit of an internal battle with me between the love of adventure and the anxiety of things that might go wrong. Adventure usually wins and once I set off on a hike the anxiety subsides, I relax and just enjoy the experience. This hike was no exception and up there wit...
Torridon: A Walk To The Tea House Bothy
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.2 месяца назад
We’d climbed Beinn Damh the day before and a walk around Loch Clair and Loch Coulin extending it to the Tea House Bothy was the plan. After a few days of rain the weather forecast was good for a few days. We were leaving Torridon after our walk and heading for a campsite near Poolewe at Firemore Beach. The circular route around the lochs is below. www.walkhighlands.co.uk/torridon/Lochclair.shtml
Beinn Damh: Torridon
Просмотров 3 тыс.3 месяца назад
Torridon is one of my favourite places in Scotland and I’ve visited numerous times over the years. Having climbed all the Munros in the area I decided to tackle the Corbett, Beinn Damh. It had been on my ‘to do’ list for a while and with a good forecast we headed up the mountain. www.walkhighlands.co.uk/torridon/Beinndamh.shtml
Bennachie

After spending the night in The back o’ Bennachie car park we set off to climb the mountain the following day. There was a chilly wind blowing on the summits on the first day of autumn. A truly amazing mountain with Mither Tap stealing the show. www.walkhighlands.co.uk/aberdeenshire/bennachie.shtml
Mount Keen: A First Munro
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.3 месяца назад
My friend had been keen to do her first Munro for some time. We were in the area and with a reasonable weather forecast we set off to climb Mount Keen (the most easterly Munro). This was a new route for me having climbed the mountain before but from the north via Glen Tanar. Did she manage it and was Mount Keen a good choice for a beginner? www.walkhighlands.co.uk/angus/mount-keen.shtml
Burn O’ Vat & Loch Kinord

After staying the night at Cambus O’ May in the van and visiting the suspension bridge over The Dee we made our way to Muir of Dinnet NNR. It’s a fascinating place with the highlight for most being the Burn O’ Vat. We took one of the waymarked walks around Loch Kinord. www.walkhighlands.co.uk/cairngorms/loch-kinord.shtml Music playing while driving: On The Shore, Beluga Lagoon

Nice one. Beautiful walk. No wonder you got your dog on leash. He has so much energy 😅
Thank you. 🙏
What a great place to do your first summit camp, beautiful sunset and sunrise. These where my very first two Munro's some 15 years ago, I've never returned but quite fancy a summit camp after watching your video. Hopefully you manage a few more.
@@Pommyjon1978 thanks Jon, it was a great trip. The conditions were fab. 👍
A very well put together video, the music went well with it, the cup of tea/coffee and the cake was most inviting

@@ianscotty1931 thanks so much Ian, same to you. Have a fantastic festive period. 🎄
Thanks for posting this, beautiful part of the world, really miss it. Don't know how you cope with midge in the tent, no where to hide.
@@Jtkcc thank you so much! Yeah, midges are awful in the tent. 👍
Enjoyed your GGW video. I especially appreciated seeing Brora having a great time. I'm planning to walk the West Highland Way, followed by the GGW and on to the East Highland Trail to Aviemore in May with my Yellow Lab, Danny. Hope the weather is as good as you had.
Thanks so much. Sounds like a great trip and fingers crossed you’ll get good weather in May & no midges. Hope you and Danny enjoy. ☺️
Another enjoyable film Linda. I watched your series on the GGW as you put it up and travelled up in Sep ‘23 to do it and then the Affric Kintail Way this Sept just gone. When I got to Inverness I had a huge whack of anxiety and apprehension. I had the Cicero guide book and OS maps downloaded but I also went back on occasions to see somewhere familiar you had shown us all. I know you stress that these are not meant to be guides but they are very helpful and informative for planning as well as on the trails themselves, so thank you very much for putting these up on RUclips. 👍🏻👍🏻 Great filming and soundtracks.
@@CiaranKemp-i6d thanks so much Ciaran, The Affric Kintail Way is on my ‘to do list’. Glad you found the videos useful, I often watch other people’s videos before tackling a route myself. 👍
Brilliant film Linda, if you're ticking something off your bucket list then what an amazing way to do it. That moon....
@@CiaranKemp-i6d thank you Ciaran, it was a fantastic trip. 👍

What a beautiful video and place to visit, will be on my list for sure. I have stayed at a lovely B&B once when I was there many moons ago. Awhh I was oops 🙊 too when Brora got a fright. Hope you haven’t had too much bad weather with Bert 😮, it’s been quite good here although last week had about 7” of snow and 11deg tomorrow, crazy 🤪 😂. Have a good weekend Linda. 😊
@@angieshand454 thanks Angie. Resembled the Abominable Snowman ⛄️ after having a trek on foot to work today. All cosy now. Enjoy your weekend too. 👍
Happiest dog on the planet!
Thanks Grant, she certainly is. 👍
Another lovely vidio, I like all of your content, however when you include historical content it is even better , you have a good voice for presenting the interesting facts. More history please
@@brendanhynes473 aww, thank you Brendan. Good to know. I really enjoy researching the history tbh. Glad you enjoyed the video. 🙏
Looks like Traquair now has 3 places for overnight self contained camper vans. Bit expensive at £25 a night with no services.
@@DougieAB I didn’t know that. I parked up in the forestry land Scotland stay the night 7stanes car park for £7 last time I stayed there. Think it’s only available April to October though. Thanks for watching. 👍
@LindaOutdoors We used to park up at the rear of the Innerleithen trails car park as part of the Stay The Night scheme but Forrestry Scotland has removed this location so no overnight parking. I was told it would be reviewed as is the whole Stay The Night scheme for 2025. Let's hope it continues. 🚐
Thanks for taking me back there. My late wife and I used to frequent the Traquair Fair fifteen years back. we couldn't park in the campsites because of our dogs, but the Lady of the house kindly let us park the caravan inside the Fair. We paid half price for a small stall selling my wife's homemade 'trolls' and it was cheaper than the entrance fee. I took one of the dogs on a walk around the gardens, but never realised there was a maze. ATB Karl from Denmark
@@karlejnarch thank you Karl. I’ve never been to the fair. It’s certainly more than 15 years since my last visit. Thanks for watching. 👍

I lost a pair of shades in that pool at the top of the steps at Dunino…..years later I managed to fish them out😀😎👍
Oh wow! I certainly wasn’t going to let Brora drink out it. Hope the glasses were still useable. 🤓
This has been added to our places to visit especially if we staying in Kingsbarn CP, it reminded us of Luds Church in Derbyshire Peaks, it's narrow limestone gauge with carvings and has been the site of religious gatherings many centuries ago.
It’s quite a short drive from Kingsbarns, defo worth a visit. Thanks for watching. 👍
