Lovely drone footage of my local hill. Great views looking down ''the Valley'' from the top. A shame that Loudoun Hill Viaduct was demolished in the '80s. It was a nice surprise to bump into you and Brora on Tinto Hill a few years back. David
@@bennevis21 thank you David. It was great to meet you too. I’m quite unfamiliar with that area and didn’t realise there was previously a viaduct. I was really pleased the sun made an appearance, it makes the landscape so much more vibrant. 👍
@@LindaOutdoorsyou used to drive under the viaduct on the A71, I think the pillars were there for many years but were eventually removed. I am sure that there is some photos on local heritage websites, will try and look them out and post. 👍👍
Hiya Linda, I stay in Darvel, have done my whole life , I climbed it the other week with my friend and our dogs, had our lunch up there, so glad u enjoyed it x
Brilliant wee vlog Linda, very well researched, lots of great info, you took the quick steep boggy route 😂 the views are quite stunning for such a wee hill 🏔️ I did a wee summit camp up there last year ⛺ very enjoyable, like I said great vlog 👌 atb Brian 👍
Growing up in North Lanarkshire ( Airdrie) every Glasgow fair our scheme would put on buses for a day trip to Ary . Everyone would sing “🎶 you canny shove yer granny off the bus 🎶”on our journey. It was magical the whole street all letting their hair down everyone getting along & the alcohol was flowing. I love Scotland 🏴
@@Parker_Douglas ha, ha. That sounds fun. 🤩 Butlins near Ayr was the place to go when I was a wee girl. I barely remember it but our car broke down on the way home from a day trip & a local couple put us up for the night. 👍
Hi Linda. Always meant to visit Loudoun Hill. Some day. I'm liking your videos. The volume of your chat could be louder, but it's all good stuff. Take care.
Was born and brought up in Strathaven, so have camped and walked up Loudoun Hill several times. But does anyone actually know where the battlefield was ? , as I have never been aware of any markers . The Loudoun Hill Inn , I always thought would make a great Aire for MH’s and campervans, I actually spoke to the current owner and he said that he had considered it at one time.
@@robertianjohnston7483 not sure where the battlefield was. I did watch a few other RUclips videos and I think in one the battlefield was pointed out. So long ago not sure if any records or how accurate that is.
Thanks again Linda for sharing a great wee day :)

I tried to get to the summit of Loudon Hill once, and got close, but lost the path. I need to go back

You went up the easier way. Theres also a good track that takes along the bottom of the crags.

I swear Broara must walk (or run) about 3 times the distance you walk 😂
She certainly does & still has too much energy after a walk. 🐶 Thanks for watching. 👍
