For those asking about "how the water gets into the tank?" It happens by something called thermosiphon. The principle works on the fact that cold water sinks and hot water rises, and the hotter the water the more it wants to rise, by rising, it displaces the cold water to the bottom of the tank. In the tubing, as the water heats up it moves up the tubing and into the tank, cold water in the tank is displaced to the bottom and pulled into the tubing by the thermosiphon effect, and the process repeats itself.
Get rid of the music. annoying and unnecessary.
For better heating process, you could paint your panel beneath pipes into black. so that it will accumulate and transfer more heat
This is a totally failed system water will not rotate doesn't matter how much heat it gain, you will need a additional pump to circulate water and also need to put good thermal insulation around your pipes, and water storage then only you will be able to make hot water
Why do tubers make a perfectly great diy video and put trash music or how about no music at all. Other than that good video
all you had too do was paint the water jug black and the water would be hot in no time in the sun!
Good video. Just one suggestion. Stop the music when you talk. The music was louder than you and I had difficulty hearing you.
Won't work well, you're not utilizing convection and will need a small pump
Nice! Just a small suggestion. You need to provide a vent in the system. Just drill a small hole on the top cap of the bottle.
It looks like sunlight also heat up the water in the tank. You need to put the water tank away from the sun to make the experiment more accurate.
Thank you for your support my dear friends. Here's my latest video. 👍👍 Enjoy
Actually, I did the same in 1987. It does work. The hose I used was black vinyl hose. For decent sunny days it would heat the water pretty good. To save money you need all connected together: Heater to a heater exchanger and water tank to save the hot water. It is not complicated, but it works only for summer time when there are plenty of sunny days( it depends on your locations).
Good attempt. I am a solar cell scientist and can give you some suggestions to make the system more efficient. Use a matt finish paint. The absorption will be higher. Increase the length of the copper tube and connect it directly to the over head tank. If you increase the water temperature to 30 C, it is good enough for bathing. It will reduce the electricity bill. It will be more efficient if you keep the final temperature at usable value.
Hello, thank you for showing how to make this water heater. This I will make because it's nice and small to make for heating up water to wash dishes with and to do laundry. Bless you for sharing.
i made one of these years ago also...worked quite well on a cool canadian sunny day....with your model i would suggest painting the clear water jug black or any other color as sunlight can make the water algae infected...plus put a small 1/8 inch hole in the top of your fill cap so it doesnt over pressure and this will allow you to drain water out faster when turning on the tap
Very good job! Please make sure to use gasket sealer that is safe for drinking water such as Sikaflex.
Bravo.. complimenti per tutto
Congratulations from Mexico
