I think the episodes are based on songs. Ruby Sunday is ruby Tuesday by the Rolling Stones. I thought space babies might be David Bowie but the doctor keeps saying space babies specifically so there is a song called space babies by the tubes. I’m guessing the devils chord was based on a Beatles song. Ruby says she had a record collection and they said music was the highest form of art or something. I reckon she is changing the story which is why several episodes have had a musical number

Was there a way to make a good season with a black Doctor? Of course there is, but that was never going to happen. Instead, he has to be black, queer, cross-dressing, and flamboyant, with all those identity politics avatar groups front and center, and the stories have to be chock full of pandering to a small minority and lecturing to the former fans. Lots of immersion-breaking No Escapism. Lots of sacrificing good writing at the altar of the Culture War in order to claim another scalp.

I've been obsessed with DW for over 50 years, since I was 10 years old. I still have the 1st issue if the Doctor Who comic from when I was a kid. I've listened and read most of the DW verse series that have been made over the years. I think that the Capaldi Doctor was underrated and that the Whitaker Doc was misused, but not bad. This is the FIRST time that I simply don't like a Doctor. I'm going to give this series a chance but so far these first two episodes are pure garbage
I'm not going to trash the new Who. Haven't seen it and most likely not going to.
With that said, I feel like they would have been better off letting the Doctor after the 12th. Not because I don't like that they changed the sex or color of the Doctor. It would have been better to bring in a new Timelord to introduce these changes. Am I the only one?
Yea some bang it has some of Doctors Who's lowest ratings thus far in the shows history its not going to get any better from there. The timeless child was a freaking joke an was one of the worst rated episodes. This will crash an burn just like timeless child did there is nothing good about the current show.
