I’ll never forget the scene I was privileged to see as a 14 year old standing alone at the rail atop Glacier Point late at night in 1961. A full moon had risen behind Half Dome bathing the entire area in its brilliant light making all the granite gleam white. Been searching in vain for a similar photo.
Dude, I whine about getting up at zero dark thirty to get to sunrise locations and staying up all night to shoot Milky Way. You are THE MAN. You EARNED that moonbow shot....WOW! And I really appreciate all the extra time you take to thoroughly explain your plan and your procedure. EXCELLENT!
My brother lives in Northern California and we always go to Yosemite. I never tire of watching videos from there and it never gets old. So beautiful and grand and you feel like your in another world. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for taking us along with you and putting in all the hardwork to film this video while you hiked those big cliffs. It surely wasn't an easy task to come back to collect your camera. The images were just breathtaking and you've inspired me to push my limits 😃❣️
Super, Josh. That was a crazy lot of work. Thanks for taking us along. Pay attention and try to get a shot of the Yosemite elephant herd next time-that’d be a big money maker.
Wow, it's not just the beautiful photos that make tuning into your channel a pleasure, but it's inspiring to see the physical effort and the passion you put into your adventures! Cheers!
Another great adventure with Joshua...showing the inspiration and dedication to pull off an image planned earlier in the day. Making tasty lemonade out of lemons! Thanks for the insight into this successful voyage.
The scenery of the foggy landscape was amazing - WOW! And I see, you had fun. :-) I must admit, I have never heard about a moonbow but your shots are magnificant! Happy shooting...
I loved this vlog! I was in Yosemite that same weekend and hiked up that road (the day after you) to shoot the rainbow at Bridal Veil Falls. I was at the Lower Falls along with about 100 other people to photograph the moonbow. Your photos of that weekend are spectacular. Just jaw-dropping. Yosemite truly is a gorgeous park.
Josh, how could I thank you?! You're absolutely fantastic, man!!! What an adventure to toast us with such awesome shots! Thanks so much! Greetings from Rio de Janeiro/Brazil!
The only hope of not seeing a thousand tripod holes is for them to avoid social media. You do a great job of non-disclosure on the other side. The throngs of feet are overwhelming most times. Sadly people who shouldn’t follow
Absolutely stunning. Maybe you could discuss how you determined how long your exposure needed to be under those circumstances to achieve the colors of the bow, keep some detail in the water, and not have star trails. Regardless, I loved it.
Beautiful shots! We're planning to visit Yosemite in mid-April 2024, staying in Curry Village. Since the higher trails will probably be closed, I'm researching the ones in the valley. I'm having a hard time getting info on the "Old Road" you walked to see such spectacular views of Bridal Veil Falls. Any information you can supply on that "trail"?
Such a great Vlog. Thanks, Josh! If things go well, next year my wife and I will do a road trip through California and Oregon. Yosemite is on our bucket list. Greetings from Bavaria.
Love the shot at the end of the full rainbow. Just found your channel and it seems like great content! Maybe we can connect on something in the future!
I greatly enjoyed this video and meeting you on that epic morning at Inspiration Point. Super excellent moonbow!!! See you at Out of Chicago in Death Valley.
Real loved this. Funny! Good, bad, ugly real world issues to think about and work around. PhotoPills use rounds out a very comprehensive reveal of what it takes. I don’t like the “everything is perfect” videos and appreciate this style. Keep up the laughs and walking elephants !
Great video But It's one of the largest, as it has been put as the 2nd largest The 3rd largest would be Uluru (Ayers Rock) in Northern Territory Seeing that Savandurga in India is 1st
Nice video and great photos! Just as a note, the terminal velocity of the average human body is around 120mph so that is the fastest you can hit the bottom of that fall😀
Thanks! To answer your question, in some ways yes. Certainly it would be easier to navigate. But then I'd either have to pack up a sleeping bag and pad, or spend a very uncomfortable, cold and wet night up there. It all depends how you prefer your discomfort. :)
Thank you all so much for the kind comments and support! I wish I was able answer each of them. You guys rock!!
thank you for evey thing

The sound of that waterfall is absolutely epic, like an airplane. That's one thing that still photography can never capture.
Thanks Josh for helping spread the joy of photography adventures!

How absolutely magnificent can a you tube video get???? Thank you very much for your skills. Time. Knowledge. As someone used to say. I’ll be back.
Thank you Joshua. Please keep sharing your adventures.

Man it’s good to have you back.
Spectacular!!! although your moonbow shots are definitely once-in-a-life-time shots, your Yosemite Valley shots as as equally breathtaking !!!!

You are invincible. Hats off to your courage and extreme passionate about photography.
Thank you for taking us along with you and putting in all the hardwork to film this video while you hiked those big cliffs. It surely wasn't an easy task to come back to collect your camera.
The images were just breathtaking and you've inspired me to push my limits 😃❣️
yes, you said it right, the idea of taking the photograph is a huge step forward, thanks for sharing!
Really fun stuff. I appreciate how you include the plans that don't work out in what I've seen of your videos.
Thank you for talking us on your journey! A little vacation for me!👍❤️
Truly spectacular! I’m surprised you did not spend the night up there rather than climbing down in the dark.
Great Vlog. Loved both the success & the failure. That is landscape photography. Great shots.
wow, just wow dude, utter commitment, much respect is due.

What an amazing first episode Josh! Moonbow shots are so Cripps! I really like that half dome one too. Glad you made it out safely!
Thanks Frank! Much appreciated.

Fricking amazing Joshua! Absolutely love your channel and appreciate the efforts you go to to get The Shot! Nice red nose! Cold?
The only hope of not seeing a thousand tripod holes is for them to avoid social media. You do a great job of non-disclosure on the other side. The throngs of feet are overwhelming most times.
Sadly people who shouldn’t follow
The lengths you go to to get the shot are so impressive. And those photos...EPIC! Your enthusiasm is such an inspiration 😀
Hey, this is passion and utmost dedication, thoroughly enjoyed your journey.
Thank you so much 🙂
Awesome as usual 👍
Wow! Epic video with epic images. There's no way I'd be standing on those cliff edges, so thanks for taking us along.
Thanks Daniel. Glad you enjoyed it!

Fantastic! That will be an amazing trip for sure.
This video was just perfectly done. Very good edit and content!

Two Joshes who love California? Sounds like a plan to me.
I greatly enjoyed this video and meeting you on that epic morning at Inspiration Point. Super excellent moonbow!!! See you at Out of Chicago in Death Valley.
Thanks, Bill! Likewise! What a great morning that was.
This is so beautiful. I love the view, the scenery and everything here. So lovely indeed. I wanna travel here.
Thank you very much! Yosemite is marvelous, no question.
Even though I think you half crazy that was a remarkable video.
Haha! Thanks a bunch.
Really enjoyed this
Yay, thank you!
Amazing work...!!
Thanks a lot!

That was bloody awesome and thanks for risking you your life to get it 😅👌
Cheers, Matthew! I like to think it was a calculated risk. :)
@@JoshuaCrippsPhotography I hear ya mate. 😉🤙
I went drinking rather then photograph the moon last night. Damn it.. Not always clouds
Great image! And what an experience that must have been! Stitching worked okay even at 14mm? Did you use Lightroom to stitch?
Thanks! It was a marvelous experience. Yes, stitched in LR. I made sure there was about 50% overlap between images and it did well.
Great video
But
It's one of the largest, as it has been put as the 2nd largest
The 3rd largest would be Uluru (Ayers Rock) in Northern Territory
Seeing that Savandurga in India is 1st
Nice video and great photos! Just as a note, the terminal velocity of the average human body is around 120mph so that is the fastest you can hit the bottom of that fall😀
Great scenery & a great vid. Wouldn’t it be easier to find a dry spot & stay up there overnight?
Thanks! To answer your question, in some ways yes. Certainly it would be easier to navigate. But then I'd either have to pack up a sleeping bag and pad, or spend a very uncomfortable, cold and wet night up there. It all depends how you prefer your discomfort. :)
I want some photographic chocolate chip cookies.
Parkour!
