    Helpful video! Question, what basic maintenance to do first and can you get aggressive burbles with stage 1?

    • @NWAuto
      @NWAuto  2 года назад +2

      Do whatever maintenance is required for the mileage you're at. I was around 15k miles when I tuned mine, so I just replaced my air filter and did an oil change. And yeah you have complete control over the burbles in the Bootmod3 map settings

    HI - I just bought a 540i and looking to do a stage 1 with a catted downpipe. More so adding the downpipe for sound benefits and in hopes of maximizing gains with a stage 1 tune. Did you notice a significant increase with stage 2 over the stage 1 + downpipe? Did you ever try MHD? Im thinking the MHD route as stage 1 seems to be a bit more mild then BM3.

    • @NWAuto
      @NWAuto  3 месяца назад

      I never tried MHD, but I think their OTS maps make similar power. The power increase from stock to stage 1 is big. The power increase from stage 1 to stage 2 is not as big

    Hello , thank you fir the vidéo very informative.
    I do have a question please: if someone tuned his car , can The dealership know about it and well… require the payment in full of the car or it is just a warranty void ? Thank you.

    • @NWAuto
      @NWAuto  2 года назад

      I've brought two tuned BMWs to the dealer multiple times. I always remove the tune and relock the DME before going. I don't think they ever checked to see if it was tuned, but I'm sure they would if I ever blew an engine or something like that.
      And they won't void your warranty, they will just deny claims if they think the damages were caused by the tune. And I doubt the financing company would just demand full payment. They can do that, but I think they know that most people can't just pay it off in full. And they probably don't wanna take a loss if they repo it while you were making payments on time

    Need bigger turbo for top end power, mine doesn't really have anything top end, stock turbo with stage 2+ E30 pulls very hard from 0 to around 130km then it's out of steam, I race against a 2020 stock m3 from a standstill stop and was ahead for up until 120km then he just smoked me onwards

    • @NWAuto
      @NWAuto  2 года назад

    I meant to ask you this.....I have BM3 stage 1 like you. I have no other mods. The one thing that drives me nuts and has caused me to seek another mod to correct this is the bogging down in 8th gear at lower than optimal speeds.
    For example, just cruising around my town which in general has speed limits around 35-45 mph I notice that my trans is eager to continue up shifting even though I’m cruising around at partial throttle. Once I get up to around town speed or county road speed (45mph) next thing I know I’m in 8th gear at 1000rpms and I can feel slight vibrations and a bit of lugging. Then naturally I have to downshift into 7th or put car into another mode. But I like comfort setting for this type of driving.
    And again, this ONLY happens in comfort mode , which I like as most of my driving is around town. But I just wish trans would stay in 7th gear around town or if it goes into 8th gear below 50mph the rpms would be a few hundred higher. Don’t get me wrong I love how on highway I can be going at 85mph and my rpms are below 2000 but around town my only remedy right now is to knock shifter over to left or go into full sport mode which seems silly when putting around town from stop sign to stop to traffic light to turns and so forth.
    I’ve gotten the XHP trans tune to address this as I see no other options. I haven’t put it on car yet as I’m waiting for the Thor obd WiFi connector. But apparently there is custom settings in there that can adjust upshift and downshift points. I hope this will address said issue. I’m kinda nervous though about doing it as I’m not too experienced with flashing.i just remember when car was stock it didn’t really do this. I’m convinced something in the BM3 flash caused this.....I’ve read of others complaining about it as well.

    • @NWAuto
      @NWAuto  2 года назад

      I didn't notice this on my car. But maybe its just because I didn't pay attention. In my experience, getting a downpipe or trans tune does help reduce bogging

    • @scottjohnson8316
      @scottjohnson8316 2 года назад

      I wonder how a high flow DP would help with that? I guess I’m just speculating because the lugging is all about 8th gear rpms

    • @NWAuto
      @NWAuto  2 года назад

      @@scottjohnson8316 Yeah like I said, I didn't really experience that issue. But a less restrictive DP does help the car feel more responsive when you hit the gas

    You should of went with the catless DP the catted one is still restricted 🚫 and regarding piggy backs .. your absolutely wrong ,they can never be detected because they don’t rewrite the DME but only alters it.

    • @NWAuto
      @NWAuto  2 года назад

      I can switch to catless later if I feel I need to. Do you not experience any smells running catless? And BMW can still detect that the car was running higher boost levels than what can be achieved stock. This is enough for them to deny a warranty claim if something serious happens
