    Thanks again Skyler. This look at the fleet is very interesting and this one is timely given the crane collapse the other day.

    Great observations you’ve made. I’m guessing that the Fire Department of New York Special Operations Command Compressor truck is essentially either a utility truck, a multi-service unit or technically a manifold wagon / squad-like type truck that transports some of the equipment that engines and ladder trucks also carry and transport then, besides the forestry hose you pointed out

    Looks like there may also be a generator along with the compressor since there are power outlets on it.

    As usual, great work. One day you should compare with European and other foreign fire trucks and equipment as theirs do not seem adequate, especially the small size hoses.

      Don't forget that buildings in Europe are usually sturdier (made of concrete and/or bricks) and fires are confined to one - two rooms. And as the walls cannot burn, all you need to extinguish is furniture, and 20 or 30mm high pressure hose is perfect for that. But for bigger fires there are still 50 and 70mm low pressure hoses on board.

    What is 10-60 and 10-66?

    • @SkylerFire
      @SkylerFire  Год назад +1

      10-60 is a major emergency response, enhanced 2nd alarm, brings all special units. 10-66 is for a trapped or missing firefighter.
