Thanks for the instructions. Is is possible to record the entire process without interruptions so as to give a clear picture of what your advising. Such as what direction to wind-up the line and etc. We are very elementary so need this kind of instructions to appreciate it fully. Thanks.
Well, this is better than what is provided in their instruction book. Very frustrating changing the string on this thing. I will try it again tonight. Thanks for the vid.
My Worx instructions were rather vague on how to wind fresh line (probably since they want you to buy their pricey pre-wound spools). Your video was really helpful and worked perfect. Thank You!
This was so helpful. I have an Earthwise trimmer - and the line feed is just like Worx only it's bright green instead of orange. Much, much appreciated!! (And, after looking at other comments - yes, the line seems to have a mind of its own - takes some getting used to.)
Have you ever had any problem when winding your own line where it would get binded on the spool and wouldn't feed? Also, does this automatically feed or do you need to bump?
Excellent information and thanks for sharing! It could be nice if your could rerun this useful video one more time with a more stable camera and show details how you roll the trimmer line. Is there a special direction to be followed when rolling the line?👍🙏
I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.
This is an auto feed. As far as I know, if you roll it nicely (without having a strand locked under a strand that's winded above it) it should auto feed. Make sure you wind it so that it can easily unravel.
Actually it's not an auto feed if you look in the upper corner kind of by where you squeeze the tabs to release the Cover Orange cover there's a little button there and you click that button while pulling on the cord and the weed eater string comes out
@@EricDIY you're right, my apologies, I was mistaken. I actually really like the auto-feed system personally, once I got used to it I've not had any trouble with it and mine has worked almost without fail or flaw for going on two full years. I would not only purchase one again but recommend them for anything residential size seeing as how mine's been more than adequate
Kindly guide me... Can u use any dia string regardless of the dia of hole... Like i can sharpen the string to get fixed into hole in case the dia of hole is a bit narrow. Is there any clockwise or anticlockwise rolling to follow.. help me i am stuck
My string that came with it keeps breaking inside the spool.. I find the end, push it out through the hole again and get a few minutes before it breaks again.....
Maybe check how the line is wound around the spool. Follow my video to make it look like mine. You could also purchase a pre-wound spool to test and see if it's the spool being wound wrong.
The line does need to be locked in as he showed, but he unlocked it before putting the cap back on. Since it is command feed it needs to be locked in and will feed when you hit the command button as it is going. Just went through a fresh spool to figure that out.
WesselsReaper to start the spool you just need to insert the string as shown. The locking happens after the spool is full (2:32). Lock it into both notches.
You could also try hitting the manual feed button on the side and see if it releases normally before you buy a new spool (see around 1:10 to see the button on the side). If it works normally, it's not the spool inside and could be the string you bought slipping on the spool.
I have a HOmelite trimmer/Edger and have had it for 3 years and it works great. Just the cord is a drag but on my lawn there are not any real obsticals. just one tree but I have a long enough cord that I just adjust the way I trim and there's no problems. It;'s a two line trimmer so it's twice as powerful. If one line runs out the next one is still in reserve. I just carry a spare spool around with me and I keep going. It has the adjustable handle to change from trimmer to edger, but I just turn it on it's edge and keep going. No reason to bump the spool. When you stop, it gives out more line. Bought it at Home depot for $50.00.
Did you know WORX offers free pre-wound spool cartridges for free,? That's right., free. Plus they're free for life! You only have to pay shipping. I paid only 4 bucks and change and they sent me 6 spools. I ordered them right from their website. Did I mention they're free for life???
its not a project. go out to the store and buy another pre wounded double helix spool. that line is not for use with the WORX gt and your yard will not look as nice.

I know right. Are there tips for that!
Make sure you wind the string the same way as the arrows point (have string go out when the wheel turns that way). This was an auto feed.
Thank you!

thanks for the video. I've got a dual feed but I couldn't find .065 so I bout .080 which fit thru the holes. I'm gonna wrap em and hope for the best.

For this model they say 065

Can you use a 0.08" line instead of the .065" line?
I wouldn't...it probably would not fit through the string feeder or would be very snug

Andrew Moore do you mean it needs to be locked in before you wind up the new string?
WesselsReaper to start the spool you just need to insert the string as shown. The locking happens after the spool is full (2:32). Lock it into both notches.
It keeps on releasing the line unnecessarily, any solution?
I would buy a new spool as it sounds like it's something on the spool you wind the wire on.
You could also try hitting the manual feed button on the side and see if it releases normally before you buy a new spool (see around 1:10 to see the button on the side). If it works normally, it's not the spool inside and could be the string you bought slipping on the spool.

My 40v worxs motor burn up 6 months small yard
And then it runs for 2 minutes and string breaks disappearing into the mechanism. This happens repeatedly
That usually depends on how the string is wound
Try keeping the wire locked on the orange spindle . In the video he said to take it off,but I find the opposite works
Correction:I see it might also be threaded in the wrong direction
Shouldn't you have 2 not 1 ends coming out
mine only has 1 string...others have 2....I used to have the 2 string and I don't see much if a difference but some think that two make jobs faster
How to take cap off iof my 3.5 black and Decker weed trimmer
