Blackbeards bounty increase may have had something to do with Koby being kidnapped, powering up his commanders with Devil Fruits taken from others, recruiting Kuzan, or maybe there is some other event we don't know of yet that relates to why Blackbeard was on Winner Island with Law besides just getting the Poneglyphs.

even if the series wasn't near the end do think the bounty increase will definitely happen after this(would say 3,0000,0000+ from current.)/during elbaf beginning as depending on if the elder stars are defeated or not luffy's already being supported by giants wrecking their fleet that they'd definitely need to decide getting into high gear or licking their wounds as the strawhats are pretty obvious threats now(that or with how the pirates are going after them now the marines get pure desperate announcing just to kill them/possibly any of their allies with how we've not seen any threatening bounty hunters that aren't fodder.).

I like the idea of Luffy's bounty (and maybe some other straw hats too) shifting to "Only Dead". It would be an effective way to show an increase in the world government's pursuit of Luffy without changing the bounty, though they could change the bounty alongside as well.
Didn't Blackbeard attack Amazon Lily and kidnap Koby during the Wano arc? I always kind of figured that was what caused his bounty to increase, albeit it is quite a large increase for something like that.
I can't remember for sure now, was the whole thing with Garp taking place in a flashback simultaneously with Wano, or was Garp's rescue mission happening concurrently with Egghead? With all the jumping around that was going on in the story at that time, I can't fully remember. But if that was during Wano, then that would probably reason enough to double his bounty.

I personally think there will be an increase for Luffy, and possibly Blackbeard considering they are the two who have knowledge on the five elders right now. If that is the case, then Sabo might also be included in the bounty increase
idk I personally definitely think the whole crew deserves at least a bit of a bounty increase just for seeing the gorosei in their "demon" forms, like they killed all the navy soldiers that just even saw them, surely that has gotta somewhat apply to people outside the world government as well

Maybe not luffy but one of the vegapunks if any of them survive would certainly get a bounty, especially after the video. I can also see luffy's poster changing from "dead or alive" to "dead". This might be a misconception on my part but I thought that, generally, if you kill the criminal, then you get less money than if you brought them in alive because a justice system would like to try and punish a criminal when possible.

Zoro had the potential to be the greatest bounty hunter ever (whatever that means). Like you said not really sure who these bounty’s serve to incentivize would love to see another force or group who is equally as powerful motivated in these high bounties and sending out their big guns
When it comes to the bounty hunters you’re thinking too small. It’s any ridiculously high bounty is going to be way to strong for any one bounty hunter to go after. So instead they’d need to team up which means they’d have to split the rewards. So a larger bounty would incentivize a larger group of bounty hunters to go after them

Akainu, Kong, Sengoku, and Shanks also might be able to notice Saturn not acting like Saturn due to previous interactions. Especially Akainu who likely hates them already, and would be looking for a way to hurt them in the name of absolute justice if an opportunity arose.

Like I said Akainu is likely looking for a fight so he likely is watching everyone for his sense of justice. Sengoku has interacted with them enough to know if they're being weird even in small passing conversations. And we don't know much about Kong, but I'd be shocked if he didn't deal with them enough to know their personalities some too. Even just a "go away" or "leave" might be enough to know its not Saturn if he appears in a place the Gorosei never go and doesn't ask for an update or give commands to one of those top level Marines. Also be shocked if Saturn didn't warn some of those people Catarina has the 9 tails fruit so she can imitate anyone and she touched Saturn which he was furious about. Shanks has some incredibly powerful Haki, I would guess he can knock out Catarina Devon but not Saturn with it. And we don't know how much he interacted with the Gorosei before, but it is possible he has met them numerous times besides the one meeting we saw.
I wonder if her awakening would allow her to turn other people into others.
One of the things I worry about is the rest of the crew not getting more development as we go or more instances of sudden development like Robin using Demonio Fleur in a fight once but us not exploring it further. I do hope Oda gives up time for more of that as we go.
I hope vega punk is smart enough that this message cannot be stopped and I hope we get to hear it. I'm tired of the show giving information to the characters that they don't share with us if only we knew. As much as Robin knows, we'd have a lot more information on the void's century
Honestly, I feel like the bounties are more of a navy thing than an elders thing, so now that he's actually started fighting the elders (who like staying in the shadows and keeping things calm) I think they might change things up. Increasing it would be somewhat meaningless and lowering it would be unsatisfying, but removing it and spreading rumors about him and his death instead would both lower his influence in the world and give us a shock as readers. I do think it would be a loss to miss the increase to 5,656,000 though.
The bounty system is almost becoming the power level in early dragon ball. Almost.
Because differently from power levels, the bounties actually have more reasons to exist besides being a power measurement
I actually think the member of the crew most likely to gain a higher bounty other than Luffy is Sanji. Zorro and Sanji have had their bounties higher or lower than each others for the past few arcs as a bit, and this would continue that. He would have made an impression against Kizaru in their fight so it seems more plausible than a Zorro bounty raise.

I like the idea of Luffy getting his 5.6B bounty before the end of the story but at the last scene the "new" marines finally realizing that all pirates aren't bad and actually setting his bounty to zero, striking it entirely because Luffy is not someone that needs to be captured anymore. His old bounty poster goes on into legend while Luffy and his crew are able to sail the world truly free as unwanted individuals.

I’ve been thinking that since the Gorosei now know that people are recognizing Luffy as Nika, most notably the giants, there is no doubt that he is their highest priority. I can see Luffy getting a only dead bounty, but the reward would just say “negotiable” since something open ended and vague would leave it up to the imagination of whoever gets him without the WG having to commit to anything after the fact.
you forget one crucial element: "(relatively) smooth travel time" is skipped. So Luffy's bounty get raised every so month.

I think he was for most of the story though not in terms of power of course but Roger never even cared about fighting the world government (from what we know) meanwhile Luffy declared war on the world government like 700 chapters ago.

I actually suspect that, if Vegapunk's message does get out, we might see bounties as a whole become outright abolished, or at the very least made redundant or unnecessary. Whatever Vegapunk is planning on saying, it's sure to be enough to turn the majority of the world against the World Government. And if that happens, what would even be the point of issuing any pirate a bounty if there's no civilians willing to try and claim them?
I think only the Marines would issue out bounties, although it would be for a level of acknowledgement.

Fighting the seraphim is a pretty good case for the crew getting an increase. Also Sanji & Franky standing up to Saturn & Kizaru.
Plus more might fight the 5 elders.
Another reason Luffy’s bounty might get an increase is if it becomes known he has control of ancient weapons.

16:15 one thing to note is that Blackbeard post egghead would also get a bounty increase as him and his crew have been making CRAZY MOVES during this arc. Between raiding Amazon Lily, intercepting and engaging Law at Winner Island, Invading WCI, Katarina Devon engaging Saturn at Egghead, and taking down Garp.
Also I do feel the rest of the straw hats warrant a bounty increase as while yes Luffy is the one doing the most damage, they are still willing accomplices to the madness and mayhem as well as guilty of assisting Vegapunk, who has been branded a criminal, in his attempt to leave Egghead. Also that irate leopard is a top Cipher Pol agent.

Morgans is going to want that universal video snail to report live to the world like I said last year, still also think he is where the signal really is coming from. The Vegapunk transmission is likely to show Luffy as the Hero and play footage of Saturn or other Gorosei being pure evil, since Saturn keeps making things worse for himself with every escalation he makes against Luffy.
No doubt in my mind Luffy gets a $5.6 billion berry bounty at some point, just above Rogers bounty but still below Daddy Dragon so he isn't the most wanted man just the most wanted pirate. After Elbaf I'd imagine Luffy will be above Dragons $6.66 billion bounty(assumed the mark of the beast is the number, no reason, just a random guess at a number). The increase will likely be from 1) knowing too much about the void century from Saul 2) gaining the trust of the giants and likely defending them from whatever Imu sends to Elbaf. I really think that we might get something like the 9 Gods Knights plus a Gorosei attacking Elbaf, giving us a 10v10 matchup for the first time in a while. Have we had just straight 1v1 fights in a while, I feel like Fishman Island was the last time it was truely 1v1 fights after Luffy knocked out all the weaklings with haki.

five months ago I started watching grandlinereview and around one months ago i started the first avalible video from six years ago and today I finally finished the last a Silbe video as of now expect for the reverie and the video discussing what Bonnie’s devil fruit is. But overall I give this channel 9/10 (it needs more dogflamingo)
One thing that could make a higher bounty feasible is waving off the rule to exclude other pirates from collecting it, so we could get a good reason to have Cross Guild and possibly Blackbeard after the Straw Hats

I like how this video eventually devolved into another discussion about the problem with bounties in One Piece, and also how there aren't that many noteworthy bounty hunters in the One Piece world. :P
Let's also not forget that becoming the King of Pirates is only a step for Luffy's dream (or what little we actually know of it), as he said when he revealed it after Wano to the crew that him becoming the Pirate King is something that he feels will make him achieving his dream possible (Ch 1060).
So I think his final bounty will be after he does become the Pirate King, but we may see an increase over the former emperors after Egghead, and put him closer to Blackbeard. If not after Egghead it'll be after what I hope is the Davey Backfight against Shanks' crew on Elbaf so we finally have a real reason for Long Ring Long Land.

It would make sense for WG to give Luffy a bounty of 3.565 600 000 bellies. He wouldn't surpass Shanks just yet and WG would downplay his threat level for propaganda reasons, and that way Oda could include the "gomu gomu" motif in his bounty without increasing it too much.

I could possibly see it happen that Luffy's Bounty increases because of the events on egghead, but that we won't hear about it right away because they escape to Elbaf and might not get any updates on the news right away
If Elbaf then has some events happen as well, it could "fit the timing/pacing" of the bounty increases a bit more from the reader's PoV when they hear about it afterwards.

Aside from that, I assume AFTER ELBAF Zoro will probably sit at like 3.5b, Sanji at 3.3, Jinbe at 3.4, the rest of the strawhats in the 0.5-2b range, Robin is a toss up at 2-5b strictly because of the Poneglyphs, and Luffy will sit at 4.2 BEFORE being reunited with Shanks so he can be proud. The only other toss up might be Luffy getting his new bounty but NOT being reunited with Shanks because Blackbeard will kill him just as soon as Luffy gets the news. Oh and Chopper might raise to like 1100.
It would be funny if oda was writing bounty randomly and people are overthinking it and creating stories (I know it not like that but still would be fking funny)

I think instead of giving Luffy a regular berry bounty, the elders will allow anyone access to Mariejois to live as a celestial dragon instead. To encourage people to actually hunt him.
